A modern classic

This thing does all the Eventide effects, which are great. It isn't a very straightforward pedal, so if you just want to plug and play, this won't be your thing. If you're ready to explore what it can offer, however, it can be very rewarding.

Probably the best multi-fx pedal

The H9 has the unmatched quality of Eventide in a small box. The sound is amazing and there are enough algorithms to keep you busy exploring. I mainly use the space and delay algos in synths, but everything sounds really good.

The exclusive H9 algorithms are very interesting and they are updated once or twice a year, adding a new effect that is unique. Ultratap, Resonator and Spacetime are impressive and showcase the depth of this device.

The H9 Control app is really useful because the controls on the pedal are limited, but the MIDI control is fast and very responsive.

Awesome

Been using this for my synths and drums in ableton and I love it, the effects are awesome and it gives you many options to work with. The app which you can use it through is great, has a nice interface and makes it easier to use.

Amazing sound

I have replaced a bunch of my pedals with this unit. Like a lot guitarists these days I would rather have a small board when I am moving around a lot. This pedal can cover almost any sound and pedal function except for a decent overdrive sound. So I currently use only 2 overdrive pedals, the H9 and a delay pedal. I can get almost any sound I need. All of the algorithms sound exceptional and are highly tweakable with the app.

My initial gripe with this pedal is that you could only use one effect at a time. I like to use chorus delay and reverb together sometimes and thankfully the H9 has a ModEchoVerb patch that can do all three of these effects together at the same time. So I'm very happy with how it sounds. I have an extra delay pedal on my board for when I want to add delay to a tremolo or Leslie sound.

I'm a big fan of octave sounds, while this unit can't get to the same level as the Pog2, It can get quiet close. It can also do the Boss Oc2 sound pretty convincingly. I have been through quite a few autowah/envelope filter pedals too in my time, the H9 can emulate a lot of the popular Autowah sounds and do a few of its own original sounds too.

I use an external foot switch to bank up and down. It makes life easier and I don't have to bend over to change patches, I would see this as a necessary purchase if you are using it live.

Fantastic multi-fx pedal

This product is simply amazing. It includes the widest ranges of effects available on the market, and overall the best algorithms out there. I was blown away by the sound quality and the amount of tweakability through the H9 Control app.

Pros

- Innovative design, clean interface

- Excellent build quality

- Top notch algorithms

- Super wide effect palette

Cons

- It has a center positive plug

- Only one effect can be used at a time (although many algorithms combine multiple effects)

Best pedal out there for wild and subtle sounds

Unless you?re buying a second H9, get the Max. You might never need all the algorithms, but you?ll never regret having them to try. It?s hard to find anything bad to say about the H9. I love mine, and I use it for crazy harmodulated patterns, straight-ahead spring-reverb, pitch effects, and as a wah. It?s great.

Incredible product

Using it in the studio and for my live and I'm amazed by how good this product is. It's also very flexible and easy to use with any iOS devices.

Download the H9 Control !

Bought this...sold it....regretted it immediately...so bought another one.

Basically if you are one of the people who are used to turning knobs to get sounds and get frightened by computerised programming...then you will get frustrated like I did. Until that is, after the second purchase...I got stuck in. its SOOO easy ! very tweakable...easy to save the sounds you want.

I realised that the important thing is to think "how will I use this and what do I need". I now have 10 presets saved that I can scroll through easily for live gigs...and the rest saved on a computer for home use and recording.

The quality of sounds is stunning...

I really dont think you need all the algorithms. Lots are similar. but they are great to have and edit.

If you are in two minds on the h9....go for it. it will replace about 4 or 5 pedals on your board and will sound better.

Pricey but very good

I think the title sums it up. This thing sounds absolutely fantastic. What sold it to me was Nic Bat's MS20 review ( demonstrates that the H9 can make a sawtooth sound like heaven. Oddly enough, he didn't sell me the MS20. The H9 max is painfully expensive but, once bought, you keep getting great new updates from Eventide for free. This is clearly a better deal than buying the cheaper versions and then shelling out on new algorithms. I have never bothered to try and program the pedal because the free I-pad app connects flawlessly via Bluetooth and works a treat. Highly recommended if you wallet can stand it

Eventide H9 Max Harmonizer

Love how it is simplistic yet highly effective! the one-knob user interface which allows easy Effect Editing and Preset Selection are classy . The 2 onboard Footswitches have great options..the Presets, Tap Tempo are absolutely amazing and the bypass with the feet would be absolutely wonderful for any live perfomer ! I would absolutely love this in my collection.

Simply terrific!

I bought two H9's for the high tech pedalboard I am currently building for studio and live use.

I use one in the front of the amp and the other in the loop. As I have dedicated reverb and delay units these two are mainly employed to handle my other related, mie modulation etc. requirements and to supply reveb and delay where the other just dont have what I seek. The sound and build quality is impressive and the operation and programming reasonably easy. The possibilities in sound textures and colour are endless!

Well chuffed with my H9's and look forward to many live and studio hours with them on my board.

most innovative fx ever

this is an amazing product and concept, with the remote control through iPhone and iPad via bluetooth nothing comes close. you only need one or two of these and a distortion pedal and ready to go. Excellent!
