Fender 150R-3-Packs Reviews
My favourite
They sound big and round and jangle in all the right places.... but the best bit is they last ages
Just great
After playing many brands I put Fender nickel 150's on a Strat and really like them. Seem easier to bend and vibrato. Good tone.
They are now my go-to strings.
Nice mellow sounding strings
These strings sound very nice and mellow, I'd say the same it true for the way they feel to the touch.
In one instance the high E string I received actually had a little knot in it, so quality control could be a bit better, but all things considered I'm very pleased with these strings.
I feel that they do need a bit more regular cleaning that nickel-plated stainless steel strings.
Affordable
For years i spent too much money on my strings. Always used Elixirs and Tomastiks which are great! Only recently found out there are options which deliver a sound just as good as the former two. This 3 pack Fender strings cost the same as one set of them. Great sounding & feeling strings....hope they last quite some time...
a great warm tone
these strings being pure nickel give a great warm sixties and seventies vibe, brilliant for that clean with a little crunch tone. i use them on les pauls, strats and teles brilliant strings
Industry standard
Not much to say - great strings, as good as any other brand. Seem to "stay fresh" a little longer than Ernie Balls.
Fender's Pure Nickels For Ever!!!
Like my 9s so their 10s. Staying perfectly in tune and they last for ever!!!!
Nice Surprise
Had never used Fender strings before, but I definitely was happy I tried them. The sound coming out of my guitar had a fresh life. I'll keep using them.
Good value
These 3 packs are very useful. They provide very good quality strings at a competitive price. I use these strings on a Gretsch Electromatic. They are long lasting and stay in tune well.
nice strings
use these in all my guitars regardless of brand.
Fantastic,underrated vintage inflectioned strings.
I used these when they came in packs with a headstock on the cover but when production shifted to Mexico thought they became more brittle and were short lived.I kept swapping between Ernie Ball, which felt heavier/stiffer and D'Addario which broke too easily.
When I noticed these were being USA made again I tried a set and have been using them since.I wouldn't be surprised if they were being made for Fender by D'Addario(those coloured ball ends) but the plain strings are not breaking at all, unlike the Dads.
Right now I think they are the best sounding strings at the vintage end of the spectrum available...
I find them just nicely bassier on the wound, with a feeling of mass about them but a nice pliable feel overall.... and they seem to last and last both tonally and physically....great both clean and driven...with all sorts of pickups...Fender,including Jazzmaster and original Widerange,Gibson Shaws,Minis,Dirty Fingers and vintage P90's...
A really good value string for those who prefer a more vintage toned sound....
Good Enough
I've gone through two sets of strings, just because of the "e" string. On both sets, the strings broke by the tuning peg. The sound Is very good! With the nickel sound being very good for nickel. The strings went on a basic Squier Affinity Strat for those wondering. Other than the "e" string being (and feeling) weak. (Both strings broke while playing "Layla" by Eric Clapton.)
