Fender Jimi Hendrix Strat OWH 5-stars Reviews
Great guitar, great quality, unique features
In my opinion the reverse headstock and bridge pickup tilt make it a unique sounding and looking guitar. I reallt reccomend it for anyone even if they're not big hendrix fans. The gigbag is good considering it comes with the guitar but still i don't think it's the safest way to carry around a 1000+ euro guitar so it may be a good idea to consider buying something with more padding or even a case.
Jimi Strat is the Bomb
This is one of the best Strats to come out of Fender in my view. Feels fantastic in the hands and the string feel is incredible. Jimi was obviously thinking when he turned over that RH Strat. Got some Fralin Voodoo pickups to try but after playing this I don’t need them. Mexican quality is equal to my two recent Am Pro Rosewood neck Strats. No need to think about this - go ahead and get it, you won’t regret it
Great quality of hardware and amazing authentic sound! Significantly exceeded my expectations, very satisfied!
Awesome guitar
I am using this guitar for a few month now and used humbuckered guitar before, but I honestly fell in love with it! However, to be frank it sounds okeyish first, but that was due to poor quality of my cheap combo amp. Great detail, great quality. Only con I can think of is inconvenient process of removing protective film
Just works as a complete package. Neck AMAZING!
Exceptional
Perfect, sound, aspect, everything, but I didn't get my tremolo bar :'(
My first Strat - I didn't make a mistake.
My first impression when I unpacked the box was that this is a really beautiful guitar - big reverse headstock, nice finish, smooth neck.
The tone is great, especially when played clean, but it's also good for crunchy sound. I used to own only guitars with humbuckers in the past, so this is the first guitar I own with single-coil pickups, and it's amazingly versatile. Playability is top-notch, the neck is smooth and easy to play.
I've been playing it for almost a year, and as time goes by it's just sounding better to me. :)
Authentic Vintage Rock n'Roll
This guitar is versatile for a number of styles and sounds not just exclusively Hendrix.
Beautiful Hendrix aesthetic but with it's features the right way around.
Classic bright Fender tones in the vintage pickups.
The inverted neck give it a beautiful unique tone.
If you are looking for a reasonably priced guitar and a Hendrix fan. This is the guitar for you.
Love it!!!
My favorite Strat ever, LOVE the tone, guitar came exceptionally well set up out of the box, the neck is straight, nut is properly cut, action is nice, intonation is spot on, neck is really comfortable, except pretty bad fret sprout, most probably due to difference in humidity - but it's easy to file fret ends and round everything. It weighs around 3.5 kg. Would definitely recommend this guitar
A class of its own!
What can I say about the Jimi Hendrix Strat other than it beats the pants off of any Strat in any range below American Vintage!
I'll start with the best part of this guitar the sound, the American Vintage 65 pickup set is glorious and to me captures the Strat sound I hear in my head. They are not hot pickups and they will nail anything from Hendrix's, Mayer's or Stevie's catalogue especially Slow Dancing. The bridge pickup is very trebly but not enough that its unusable and the neck pickup is utterly divine.
The look is of course striking, with the reverse headstock, stunning white with the aged hardware, it certainly stands out from the pack. But the look does more than make you stand out it makes you play different as the reverse headstock makes the string tension feel very different from a normal Strat with slinky low strings and slightly tighter high strings it makes you work for those bends!
The neck is a thin C profile which is comfortable providing lots of access for either the shredder style hand position or the thumb over the top blues style...my only minor criticism is the fret ends which can remind you that this is still a Mexican made instrument but they are still perfectly serviceable but the only reason this guitar doesn't get all 5 stars.
Great strat
Great strat. Comfortable to play. I'm used to playing 70s style strats and I just felt everything felt right with this guitar the moment I started playing it.
The bridge pickup's got too much trebel for my taste, but it does imitate well Jimi's sound in my opinion. Great piece of gear to have for those Hendrix's fans!
Superb
I?m in love with the guitar's look - inverted large vintage head, creamy body and plastic give the guitar special charm. I used to play rosewood U-necks before and now I really like the feeling of maple C-neck, it's so smooth and easy to play. No questions about the build quality, everything?s done well. Pure vintage '65 pickups give authentic 60's Fender sound. They are perfect for clean and crunchy sound. Heavier presets like distortion sound great too, I just don't use them much. The only thing I would prefer is to move the tremolo handle to the top, like on Jimi's guitar. I think it would be easier to grab and would be a really cool feature, but it's only my opinion, classic handle position is okay with me too.
Overall, great value for money. If you're looking for a Stratocaster and don't want to spend twice more on an American one, this is a great choice.
Great value for money
This is such an amazing Strat, very versatile - giving you the opportunity to explore all of the vintage Hendrix sounds and still capable of coping with heavier rock sounds.
It's very comfortable to play, the neck is very smooth, love the sound of the pickups. I also love the reverse headstock, gives a very different feeling to the strings, but it's quite nice. It's just a very interesting Strat, that differs a lot from the other ones and it plays great.
60s tone at great price
using this guitar for home use/ light gigging, recording
A lovely guitar well built and packing some serious tone.
The 60s pickups sound great combined with the unique positioning (they are inverted) and the reverse headstock give this guitar a unique tone. the neck and bridge pick up give a classic bluesy strat tone. while the bridge gives a raw punch.
the guitar is well built and the trem system holds turning quite well.
ut also came with a nice gig bag
Only down sides to this is theres a slight overhang on the fret wire which is easily remedied and i would have liked a bone nut to make it truly 60s style
overall very happy with my purchase now if i could only play like jimi!
