A great instrument
A really nice instrument for the price - so easy to play, great pickups, and for a passive system, I can get lots of distinct and different sounds out of it.
Because of a hand injury, I'm having problems playing a full-scale bass, so this suited me perfectly.
I've played it about 30 hours so far, and it's almost a part of me already. Build qualiy is excellent, neck is smooth and fast without being slippery. Tuners are great, and the instrument on the whole feels very balanced (but note that I only play sitting down, so I don't know how it feels standing up for a long gig).
I honestly can't think of a negative thing to say about this instrument. I have no interest in active pickups, but that's the only thing I can imagine anyone would like to improve on it.
Nice, right-priced, reasonably well-built
This is a good bass. Same as its 6-string counterparts, these Mexican instruments are quite well built. Notably, necks are fine and the fretwork is typically very good. Sometimes there might be issues with pickguards (not quite perfectly cut and attached). Pity they are sold without a gigbag these days. But still definitely a good buy.
