Fender Player Series Strat PF 3TS Reviews
Great
For the price it is a great guitar. I love it.
First el.guitar and i love it!
Firstly, it was well packed, I was very worried, BUT if you buy a Bundle with a nylon GigBag, the guitar will not be packed in it, although it was bought in order to secure transportation
It arrived in perfect condition, not a single scratch, I immediately took a guitar master for inspection and tuning - no problems, excellent quality for Mexican (despite some screws twisted at an angle). The sound is bright and rich, it feels good in your hands, it's a pleasure to play
Excellent finish, very beautiful tool
beautiful guitar!
Beautiful guitar, did need a set up out of the box, but that is to be expected. Huge value for money and for me, is as good, if not better than most modern AM strats.
Value for money
Home practice? Gig? Recording? Short on budget? This guitar will do all those..
The real strat
This is the real strat. It sounds like one, makes you think like one. It is always a great feeling to pick this up in your hands. So far the best guitar I have ever owned. It was very easy to adjust the action and the scale. Checked it couple of times later - still good. The only thing is that the frets were sharp on the bottom side of the neck. And there's not much you can sand there, some of them are also cut a bit too short. I'm reading this is a common problem with MIM. Oh yeah. And the D string rang. I had to use the razor trick on the back of the nut - fixes it.
Absolute dream
This absolute iconic guitar is a must have in every guitar collection. Fender once again outdid itself in both quality and sound. I have been using this guitar on everything since I bought it and not once has it disappointed me or left me hoping for more. Perfect for most genres and especially when looking for the classic sound heard by players like John Mayer, Eric Clapton, SRV and Pink Floyd. Very much worth the price and a more than perfect starting point into the complex and often confusing world of guitar playing! 11/10
My new Strat
I had a U.S. made Stratocaster sunburnst 1968, which I sold years ago for discontinued operations. The desire to play for my pleasure returned but I didn't want to spend too much. With this guitar I found just enough of my "Strat" with an absolutely convenient expense. I am more than satisfied with the purchase.
Great guitar - excellent price vs. value
I bought this guitar after having long evaluated whether to buy an American made (Fender AM Perf Strat RW HB) which costs twice as much or this one made in Mexico. Since I am an intermediate player and I only play at home, I decided to opt for this cheaper model. I am totally satisfied with the purchase. The guitar plays great, it is by all means 100% made by Fender (it happens I’ve heard that Fender uses the same piece of wood to make two different guitars, one in USA and the other in Mexico), the pickups play very nice and clean (and you can always upgrade them). I guess a big difference is given by the amp you are using, but I would certainly recommend to buy this guitar if you are on a budget and/or if you are an intermediate player, but you still want a quality instrument. What makes it great in my view is the playability. The frets, the neck, they are just perfect and the guitar comes perfectly setup. The body then is so ergonomic and it is so easy to keep it when you play it. If I’d compare it with the Gibson Les Paul Studio that I also have (which is by the way also a great, great guitar, a bit different from the Strat for many things) this Strat is much lighter to hold and is more balanced. Again, I am not a pro, but I guess many of you aren't. This guitar has been a excellent choice for me.
Great guitar to pimp!
My intention even before buying this guitar was to make it better than any American Strat, which it now is without a doubt.
Straight out of the box though, this guitar does little to impress except for the immaculate finish of the wood grain through the transparent sunburst finish. Just about everything on this guitar needs to be set up correctly... the frets needed to be polished and the pau ferro fretboard well oiled. The neck, tremolo springs/height, tremolo pole height, action, saddles/intonation all needed to be corrected, but I was expecting this. The screw holes beneath the tremolo cover and pickguard were also made without any tender loving care and consequently all needed to be cleaned up. The standard strings are rubbish, but that was easily fixed with some Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinky 009 - 046ers.
The alnico 5 standard pickups sound rather dead and lifeless and nothing like the sound demo on the Fender website, but that's alright 'cause I already had the DiMarzio alnico 2 Area range in a perloid pickguard ready to drop in. The volume pot mod has been done as advised to do by DiMarzo and the tone condensor has been replaced with an orange drop TAD condensor. In addition, the rotten standard bent saddles have been replaced with solid brass rectangular saddles. Two full days of work has however been worth it.
Played through a Dumble with compressor pedal, this guitar now sounds and feels AMAZING! This guitar now OOOZES QUALITY the second you touch it. I would buy it again in a heartbeat for this price. I would give the end result 6 stars ******.
Great guitar for a beginner and intermediate player
Packaged perfectly and sent promptly this fantastic guitar is perfect for the son who has worked hard learning the classical guitar (and will continue to practice that) but wants the fun of playing the e-guitar and all the rock tracks.
