Fender Vintera 60s Mod Jazzmast. SG Reviews
Great guitar, with some minor issues that shouldn't be present at this price
I've been playing this guitar for two weeks and I have to say its a fantastic instrument! The pickups and rhythm / lead wiring give huge versatility in tone and the neck feels absolutely beautiful to play! Extremely touch responsive and harmonics ring out like a bell! Finish is gorgeous and the gig bag is well cushioned.
Unfortunately there are a few issues on my guitar which, while acceptable on a cheaper guitar, I'm surprised to see on a Mexican Fender. Out of the box the pick guard was cocked up around the upper horn, there was some wiring from the rhythm/lead switch between the pickguard and body. While this was an easy fix, it resulted in a small chip at the edge of the pick guard which I don't believe would have happened if the guitar was shipped with a flush pick guard. The guitar also has the mother of all ground hums if I'm not touching a metal component.
All in all its a fantastic instrument, but I can't help but have a bitter taste in my mouth due to the issues outlined above. I could accept these on a cheaper Squier guitar, but not on a Fender that cost almost 1k€. I would recommend to anyone who (like me) is looking for a solid, mid-range JM!
