A simple and great solution

For a recording on the go or even in a home studio, this is a great tool. Just plug in to your soundcard and you've got 8 tracks more.

It's simple, the sound is really correct, all in all this is a very nice way to begin a home studio or to record on the road.

Very nice for the price.

Does what it says on the tin

Sound quality is good for the price. The preamps are the same as 18i20. Works fine at 48k with no issue for me. Software is good / stable so far.

extending, not condemming

I already owned the scarlett 18i20 and wanted to be able to record a full band live so now i'm able and i'm happy.

Just what I needed

I needed more inputs for my RME to connect additional gear and this was just what I needed for a great price.

Pay attention that outputs on this unit just sends input channel signal through. It cannot send output signal via ADAT (look for Clarett OctoPre for that).

Gain knobs adjusts each L/R channel separately, I find it hard to tune it with such small knobs, wish there would be some "Lock" function for L/R gain.

Love the precise LED indicators which helps avoid clipping.

If you're on a budget, this 8-channel preamp sould be the best and easiest to use choice.

Nice one, but not for ribbon mics

Good stuff if you own an project studio and need additional channels, for example, to record drums or record a small band with 3-4 guitars, percs. etc.

Good working with dynamic and condenser mics, but have not enough gain for work with ribbon mics.

And this unit can only get the analogue sound to digital, not the opposite way (for example, to use summing mixer - you can't do it with this one).
