Not sexy but important

It does exactly what is supposed to, and I think as far as money / value is very good.

Too noisy for a small home studio room

Bought this, used it for a while and then sold it. Didn't help reduce the noise floor, but the box itself was so noisy that it was not good a small room that is both used for recording and mixing.

Clean power, easy to use

Perfect for my rackmounts. Small profile and very powerful and sleek. This is exactly what I needed, so now I have one for each of my different rolling racks!

Good quality

its an amazing product to get a clean output from your sound system

Benchmark for power distribution and quality control

Built like a tank, this is the benchmark for filtering and distributing power. Is slightly expensive though which will push some into finding alternatives.

Great product! I'm using it in my studio for almost two years now.

Unlike some cheaper alternatives, this is an actual current conditioner and actually reduces noise floor quite a lot on the monitors. Honestly, I was surprised by the quality of this unit.

Furman PL-8 CE

I ordered Furman PL-8 CE in order to protect and power up my rack equipment.

The product arrived well and carefully packed. I unpacked the product and begun to set it up with my equipment. Set-up process is very straightforward. Just connect the power output of your desired rack equipment to the rear inputs of the PL-8 CE and your equipment is ready for use and protected from sudden power spikes!

Overall I am very happy with this product and there is no cons about it.

Pros: Protects your equipment from sudden power spikes, reachable in price for the home or project studio owner, it is a Furman unit!

Must Have Unit

In my opinion these are a must have for any live sound outboard rack. The dimmable lights are awesome, the gooseneck light on the back is very very useful and knowing that your gear is protected is priceless!

Only wish it had a usb charging port on the front, then it would get 5 stars for features. I think the more expensive models might have this though.

Stripped back version of their range

Not exactly swimming in features like the more expensive models but it does everything it says it does very nicely and great value for money.

LIFT

There WAS some hum problem in my studio before this.

Now there IS NOT. I am using UAD and Manley tube preamps and some mics and iinstruments made some noise before, but it is the past already.

Very nice piece of gear!

This is excellent piece for any studio. This piece protect my expensive equipment. It also gives me of sense of security. It will relieve you from any buzzing and humming. Quiet power and surge protection... no hums... great price... solid quality! I Recommend!

What can you say, it's one of those things, you never know if it works properly until you get hit by a powersurge, until then you have to suppose it's working well

Furman PL-8 CE Power Conditioner

Handling:

This product weights 6kg's which is not too much considering all the components it has inside it. It also takes only 19"/1U space in your rack setup which is very nice thing. It also provides very clean and noise free power to your gear and regulates the power, so you won't hear any pops or other unnecessary sounds through your rig.

Features:

The unit itself has all features that you need; Dimmable lights and LED power indicators in the front, 11 IEC sockets and Bnc -lamp socket in the back. I really think that the switch for the back lamp should be located in the front - then you would have a much easier access to it.

Quality:

Enclosure is made of aluminum for reducing it's overall weight. It also seems very well built unit and so far I haven't had any problems with it!

PL-8 CE

I've been running a high gain amp head (Peavey 5150II) with rack effects and pre-amp, due to all the equipment i've been struggling with both powering the equipment safely (after having a power serge at a show and having my amp head damaged) and without added noise.

This furman unit is excellent. i power everything in my set up with it.

All the noise and hiss that was brought about by bad power was eliminated with furman's LiFT noise filtration technology.

This unit also has surge and voltage protection so now i don't have to worry about any of my equipment.

The PL-8 CE is the base model but to be honest it doesn't feel like it. the next model up has a set of LED lights to show voltage level and the highest has a digital readout amongst other small changes. I very much doubt i would upgrade to any other power conditioner. this is the only rack power conditioner ill ever need.

If you care about your rig and sound, if your serious about music, you need this.

Furman PL-8 CE review

This power cleaner is quality in an affordable package. What you get is simple, and in a very effective format. In total you have 11 sockets to use. These are lined up very nicely and tidily. All connectors, switches, and lamps feel solid and chunky. There is no question about the quality of materials and craftsmanship here. The unit is heavy and compact, and in its entirety makes you feel like you can trust it. Since buying this unit, I've had no problems whatsoever, and everything feels very stable. I feel a lot more secure now since everything is being protected by the unit. The only downside is the lack of additional metering and extra ports/connections, but this is an expected elements as the price is significantly lower, and I think it's reasonable and justifiable in the end.

Does the trick

I have two. Haven't let me down yet.

I heard a slight improvement in stereo imaging when I plugged my active monitors into them, coming from a blind tested, skeptical point of view - this surprised me, as research dictates it's not a good idea to plug power hungry amps into a power conditioner.

Satisfying 'click' upon turning on and off. That's about all I have to say...

protect and clean

well everyone that heard of Furman`s products knows that they are excelent quality ,I recently i joined the commnity that holds one in theire studio . i am vry please with the extra feature at the front the two dimer lights at the front are very usefull . Recommend !!!
