Loud and Portable

the speakers are loud and of sturdy build ! I needed a second pair because i am commuting a lot between uni and home and i was getting tired of moving my Hs 7's everywhere i go. The small size of the speakers makes them portable, but this also results in a lack of bass. I enjoy these speakers more for my DJ setup, as i find that mastered tracks sound really good on them. The lack of bass however makes it really difficult to design basses, and i often end up with tracks that are way to loud in the low-mids. I mainly use them in the living room when preparing for a set and they even serve well for small home parties. For me their portability is their main appeal, and i carry them with me to where ever i stay.

Have been using this compact studio monitor for 4 years now.

If you are looking for a compact neutral sounding monitor with a big sound, I would recommend this small Genelec.

Fantastic for the size

well worth the money for their size I use these in my carry on luggage when I'm travelling and I'm very happy with them. If you have someone to check the subs you can even mix on them would recommend. Best of all the sound like Genelecs just without the bass

Incredible sound of small size monitors

Pros

Those familiar with the bigger and more expensive Genelec monitors attest to the similarity of the smaller 8010's sonic quality. Many also commented that ear fatigue is not an issue with this speaker, thanks to its low distortion performance and its clean mids and highs. Portability was also seen as a plus for some users who do mobile recording setups or want to mix on familiar speakers away from their own studio.

Cons

Obviously, the low end will lack but it can get the job done for most music types. Those who need more bass can add a studio subwoofer.

Most people think big studio when they hear Genelec but the brand challenges that notion by offering a small but surprisingly clear and versatile monitor speaker. If you're looking for a portable studio monitor, or if you have a small studio space to work with, the Genelec 8010 is highly recommended.

no comment for sound quality

build solid even hard condition and feature and sound crystal clear and they are small with big sound and either than that small like you need so this is portable and flexible and for the sound impressive even you don't have a great room just you will need a sub for more bass but in general no comment , i can go every where with them never make you mad . Genelec is legend in studio monitors .

Unschlagbar bei der Größe

Als Monitorboxen zum Filmschnitt bestens geeignet ohne den gesamten Schreibtisch zu verstellen. Meine erste Wahl, da sie auch einfach transportieren kann.

I like em,they are great! they are quality!

They lack low-end though, they are a little harsh somewhere in the mids/highs.

These would end up giving me fatigue compared to Adams or Eves.

I have been testing other speakers in the same size comparison, and I ended taking up the Adam A3X's when comparing them, also with the Eve sc203's (the Eves are great but they have a limiter on them which ruins everything for me, and they lack a little low-end compared to Adams A3X)

I have my own proper studio room and it's treated, and I have tested all three of them, both from my own ears and through the room testing microphone.

They are great for professional use, they are real quality and they are flat, perfect for mixing/mastering/production purposes, but would be much better with a sub though.

Would recommend these for anyone looking to make music and mix/master in a small room, obviously with room treatment.
