Incredibly versatile, playable and beautiful

After 3 months of ownership I have nothing but praise for the Gretsch 6228 BT. Angelic, shimmering, bell-like Beatles-style clean tones transform with dirt into skull-crushing, afterburner screams that sustain and sustain and sustain. The neck manages to somehow feel both incredibly accessible yet have acres of space around where you want to be - playing feels effortlessly clean. Setup out of the factory is fantastic. The appearance is absolutely gorgeous. As you would expect from a stoptail with locking tuners, tuning stability is rock solid even after a proper hiding. It's almost shockingly quiet at ultra-high gain. If you've been trying out Les Pauls for months and nothing's quite working out for you, definitely give one of these a try. I couldn't be happier with mine. Oh, and the hard case is pretty damned nice too.
