Amazing boost pedal

Originally, this was my #1 overdrive pedal before it got replaced, but ever since I've been using it as a gain/booster pedal, and it's amazing. With the right power supply (don't use a cheap one), it gives a really clean tone and really specific gain levels.

Good pedal decent amp sim

All round good pedal decent amp sim sound very usable. Not quite in the league of my old Bad Monkey...but pretty good..!

Joyous

Yes it's pretty much the same as a certain Chinese pedal from the online marketplaces, without the metallic finish but at 2/3 the price. Sounds better than any actual amp I own, but admittedly a deluxe reverb isn't one of them. Leave your amp at home, promise the other band's guitarist you won't touch their settings, stick this in the effects loop and you're good to go.

Does the job well for the purpose

Got this pedal a week ago.. i use it on a clean amp in the fx loop ( all other pedal path goes in front) and it gives what i was looking for..a decent fender kinda tone.

It really worked out guys! Great sound at an affordable price!

That really sounds good!

3-band EQ and you can also mix a variety of tones with the Voice button as well. With my Stratocaster, I use the Voice knob to mix a little middle for a thicker sound. (at around 10-11 hours).

A switch would be nice just to turn the speaker simulation on and off! Anyway, I'm very satisfied with it!

Thanks guys!

Different uses

On the pedal board it has sound not to be compare to other more expensuve pedals, but on his own to the Focusrite it helps a lot.

Great value pedal.

It can be used as an amp sim or just in your pedal chain before your your amp and it gives a great tone option, especially good for giving increased treble prescence and brightening a muddy humbucker. I have an old school bluesbreaker upstream and together they sound great. However, not true bypass and, when off, gives unwanted noise. You can leave it on all the time and quickly dial in fairly neutral settings. I also use it direct into my usb audio interface for my DAW and it works well. There are about 4 of these pedals simulating various well known amps. For the money it is unbelievable.

A bit noisy

I thought I would try this after reading so many good reviews. The sound is good and I particularly like when it is almost fully overdriven. I did record with it but it was just too noisy to use the takes, which is a pity. I know I would get away with it for live use although I haven't done so yet.

Unbeatable for this price

Overall the pedal works as a fine equalizer coupled to a drive.

It allows a vast numer of tweek possibilities.

It is a brilliant pedal for the price.

Pros:

You can addapt your guitar sound to different genders

The drive knob is very good

Cons:

The pedal switch is very stiff and makes a very noisy click sound

Great Pre-amp for an inbeatable price...

Fed up with al the VST guitar plugs, try this one, keep your dynamics and shape your tone before recording! Also nice in front of your guitar amp!

Awesome on bass!

My band does a lot of out of town shows and often the drums and bass amp are whatever we arrive at. We use a lot of dirtier tones and often times you can arrive and find you're playing into a Trace Elliot or something else that's a bit too "clean" for what we want.

Well I'm pleased to say it sounds awesome, really cool aggressive distortion that's very reminiscent of a driven amp head. I'd recommend one for anyone doing a lot of shows where they're unsure of what the amp they meet will be like - for bass just run into the input, for guitar players you can always try the return of the FX loop. Enjoy!

Fender Who?

For the price you simply will not find an analog true bypass Fender amp sim/drive pedal that sounds even a quarter as good as the American TrueTone.

I use the pedal to record directly into Protools and it does an excellent job, recreating various Fender amps with ease.

the built quality is solid, housed in a metal frame that even the heaviest of boot would struggle to make a dent in.

I would recommend the pedal to anyone, even as a spare "Amp" for playing live, just plug it in to the PA and it'll get you through the night.

The only bad point i can see it the battery cover is a little cheap but for this price can you really complain? Anything else in this price range will be made from plastic and sound like a wasp farting in a tin can... So do yourself a favor, buy it.

Pretty nice although cheap looking

I bought the American TrueTone in order to get rid of my Vox Tonelab Amp modelling (due to its size). The online sound tests were pretty impressive and the price was extremely low. So I decided to give it a try.

I am very pleased with this product. It looks cheap and it feels very light, but it sounds very impressive. I haven't found the perfect settings for a good clean tone, but it shines with a nice distortion pedal and small amount gain.

Overall, it seems versatile with the controls having an audible effect on the sound. It's now on my pedalboard and I cannot imagine giving it away.

Best Value!

I've used this live to boost my distorsion tone and it's a pretty viable substitution for a tube screamer.

Definetly worth checking out. I rate it a 9/10 for the money!

Good and cheap preamp for direct recording of guitar and bass

I bought this pedal primarily as back-up for live situations when my amp fails (it happened before), so I can run my pedalboard directly into this pedal and then to the soundboard. It works excellent in this role, and it led to another very useful purpose: direct recording in home studio.

I just finished recorded an entire album (8 songs) using Harley Benton American TrueTone as the pre-amp for all guitars and bass, and it worked really well, especially considering the fact that I did not have the time or space to properly mike guitar amps.

I just wish they made it smaller, like those mini pedals.
