Awesome guitar

I recently bought this guitar and I kid you not it plays amazingly well. The neck and intonation is spot on all the way up the board. For the price this guitar is phenomenal. My only gripe and that's just me is when playing with high gain the pickups sound slightly tinny. Other than that it's unbeatable. Thanks Harley Benton for an amazing guitar at an amazing price

Great guitar for playing Metal and Rock

Fire up that 4x12, put on your sunglasses, and plug in this six-string monster for some glorious classic rock tone! The SC-550SL Gotoh comes straight out of the golden age of rock n’ roll, with everything the modern rocker expects. A weight-relieved mahogany body with a gorgeous flamed maple top and a set mahogany neck provide that traditional tonewood recipe known for its attack and sustain.

And thanks to the chambering, you don’t have to sacrifice your spine for tone! The 12” radius Pau Ferro fingerboard comes sporting 22 stainless steel frets, making worn frets a thing of the past, while the Gotoh tuners and graphite nut ensure zero tuning issues. Powering the SC-550SL are two Tesla Opus-1 Alnico-5 humbuckers, with individual volume and tone controls. Flick the pickup selector to the bridge position and crank out some dirty riffs, or try the neck position with the tone rolled down for that sweet singing solo tone. Or mix both pickups and play around with the controls; a plethora of tones awaits you.

I like this guitar. The quality is awesome. I couldn't even think that this guitar would be so good for the price!

The color is gorgeous.

The bridge pickup sounds awesome. But the neck pickup sounds muddy.

This guitar is a good platform for modding. I'm going to change pickups very soon, because I wanna own a true metal beast.

I can recommend this guitar to anyone who likes deathcore, death-metal or low tunings. It plays nice out of the box, but it can be modded as you want.

Superb Quality for the price

Quality is too good for the price.

Nice handling no flaws atm.

Also i never expected these humbackers to have such an amazing tone and crystal sound in general palm mutes dont sound that good on my other guitar's emg's.

Just got it to get in to 7 strings and its sooo good for its price, i d highly recommend it.

I feel like i stole it

Guys i have the guitar for 2 months it was my first 7 string and i love it you get so many features for so little money you feel like you stole it. I play it every day have no real problems with it. Pickups are awesome and sound like my emg 81/85 guitars locking tuners work great and its comfy to play. The guitar has some cons that for my opinion are so minor i dont even care to mention them considering the price. Remember guys the most ipmortant aspects of an instrument like sound playability and reliability at not notch. In summary i love it its by far my favorite guitar with its stealthy matte black looks <3. Good job harley benton u make dreams come true for us that cant spend a fortune for our love of music. I am planning to buy the 8 string version in the near future for sure!

Knocked it out of the park

So, not much to say here but: good job, Harley Benton. The guitar is stunning. For the price you get locking tuners, neck through design and a sweet finish. My main concern is the roughness of the neck on my particular model, it may just be the one that got overlooked, but I hope I can get it smoothed out.

All in all, if you're new to 7 strings like me, this is an excellent guitar to make your way into the extended range

A fantastic Baritone Seven String Guitar

Use:

I bought this guitar in order to get myself into this modern seven string metal guitar trend and I have to say, it's fantastic for its price.

Pros:

- Baritone neck, which increases stability for low tunings (tested as far as Drop D Octave)

- Locking tuners, which give this instrument absurd stability. It is unreal!

- Blade magnet stock pickups - I plan to change them, but they sound quite well and have very good presence;

- Satin painted neck - Smooth, fast feeling and extremely comfortably sized. It is worth noting that it is a bit bigger than a 6 string guitar;

- Very good weight - Despite not having the numbers, I have played with it a lot and I place it between a classic strat and an Ibanez superstrat in terms of weight;

- It chugs and it djents well.

Cons:

- As with almost all HB guitars, this one had a few sharp frets and a few dead ones, but nothing that cannot be fixed;

- The pickups can do metal, very aggressively even, but they lack the definition needed for modern guitar tones and those big seven string chords;

Conclusion:

If you have read this far, simply add it to the cart and take it home! It is a monster machine and it feels great even for people with small hands such as myself. I have done everything on it from recording my solo album to doing covers of bands that range from Sabaton to Feared and to Periphery.

An absolute must have!

I've bought 2 of these so far, and I believe an update on my review is necessary.

This guitar is an absolute no-brainer! Although the first one I bought had some small issues with fret buzz, it was nothing anyone couldn't fix. I had someone come into my studio and he was blown away by the guitar and bought it from me for almost the same price as a new one. Recently, I purchased another one and it was even better set up than the last one! The build quality is superb, the pickups are very good and the look is just out of this world.

Whether or not you're looking for your 1st 7-string guitar, or a beautiful addition to your collection, this thing is an absolute steal for the money. Cannot recommend highly enough!

That's a great guitar. For this price you cant get anything better. neck through construction, bariton scale, 7 strings and locking tuners. It has some flaws but for this price it doesn't worth to mention them. Just buy one...

price tag should be much higher!

I reviewed the guitar on youtube..i know links are not allowed here. but look for "cory mura" on youtube and you will get a lot of informations and sounds about this guitar.thx.

i received the guitar with a good setup,lowered it a little bit...perfect. no dead spots,excellent.

the first thing you notice is the very cool look. agressive but stylish. the finish is something i would describe as "semi-satin"..it still got some shine to it but is satin.

the pickups look almost like BKPs and got much clarity and can handle the 7th string very nice...all 7 strings sounds balanced and can give you nice cleans and work extremely well with gain.

my guitar weights 3.5kg is balanced on my leg and on a strap..no neck dive.

the whole construction is something you wouldnt expect in this price range. the neck-through design is something you will want on every guitar from now on. you can reach the 24th fret without any problems.

i could go on and on here.

so: highly recommended guitar...this machine here competes with everything double the price and higher imo.

dont get fooled by the price tag!

some tiny problems in finish around the neck/body area like always,thats it. i gave it 4 stars in features because most HBs nowadays come with coil split...these pickups here are splittable but they didnt use it...but thats picky.
