Harley Benton CLB-10SCE NT 5-stars Reviews
Excellent for the price
An overall fantastic bass for the price- I played basses that cost x1.5 as much and way were quieter. Has big and warm sound and is plenty loud- you're gonna be audible, even next to a guitar (unless the guitarist is really hammering it in) when playing acoustically.
When playing with an electric bass amp, it can be a great substitute for an electric bass- though it may be uncomfortable to play with the large body if you're not used to playing acoustic.
When playing plugged to a PA, it sounds absolutely fantastic. The piezo doesn't have the ultra high impedance quackiness common with guitar pickups because of the low frequency of the bass, allowing the signal to go through and sound really great.
Highly recommended.
Great Acoustic bass
I have a couple of electric basses. I thought an acoustic bass would get me playing more. It did! I love this guitar. The bronze strings really give feedback if I slide when plugged in but that is Operator error not the guitar. The finish and build are flawless. it is every bit as good as my Martin and Takamine's. Solid top really rings and looks fantastic. It just feels right playing indoors. It can get loud, maybe not, unplugged against a 100 watt amp loud, but I have the electrics for that, (if that ever happens again.)
Should you get one, Heck yeah!
Sounds and feels great
Beautiful in appearance and sound. Being that acoustic basses are not very loud I couldn't justify making a huge investment in one. HB to the rescue.
Amazing for the price!!
Great product, well built, lovely to play, looks great and had nothing but great reviews about the sound. 100% Recommend.
Great Value, nice instrument
Got this about 18months ago. Needed a tiny adustment of the thruss rod (with the included allen Key) when it arrived. But since then it has been great. Love the built in tuner. Nice sound acoustically and plugged in. Note that I am not a pro musician and don't gig with this. I have no doubt that it could be used gigging and would recommend it to friends.
big and beautiful.
the harley benton cbl-10sce ns is, for its price, a lovely instrument, the body is big, (its a jumbo) and the neck is just the right length at 480 from the main body, making it easier to play than some basses with longer necks.
i play a regular guitar and its a totally different experience playing the bass guitar. the strings are much wider apart and a lot thicker than a regular guitar. it can be pluged in to an amp, and it has a tuner, which are very handy, it also has tone controls which, to my ears dont actually do much but they are there any way.
for 195 euro, you cant go wrong...
Incredible value
Let me preface this by saying I'm not very experienced in evaluating bass guitars, let alone acoustic ones, so caveat emptor, ymmv etc. I'm mainly a guitar player. Been playing on and off for the last 20 years or so. Strictly recreational.
This plays like a dream! I don't know if I was lucky, but this is the easiest playing bass I've ever tried. Compared to my Squier Precision it feels like playing a guitar! I just took it out of the box and tuned it, and I can't see how I could possibly make any more adjustments. It's just perfect.
One thing that surprised me is that the top is completely unfinished. No laquer/varnish/oil. No complaints here, though.
-The built-in tuner is a bit coarse. It works ok, though, and its better than no tuner at all, I guess :)
Not tested: The built-in pickups.
