Harley Benton Coated Electric Guitar 010 Reviews
Just a great quality string
I bought these to try, since they were part of a guitar order, delivery was free. Not sure why I didn't expect much from these, but I have been using daddario XL and NYXLs for a few years. Don't get me wrong, the XL and NYXL are excellent strings, but I will now do some bulk ordering of these next time I make a purchase that will allow free shipping. Very very nice strings and they last really well. Cost prohibitive for me in the UK to just buy a few packets, but a bargain if part of a bigger order.
Great budget strings
When you have more guitars than money, these are the strings for you.Not my favorite strings but definitely my favorite “budget” strings.
Sounds and plays great. Would even play if they were more expensive :)
Happy costumer.
You dont get your finger tip black, sounds great, I play hard so I need strings that can handel this, they do that.
not good for me
I did not like the string. the sound is decent but the feel is poor to my fingers.
good if you want something very cheap, but it is worth to spend a few more euros for something better.
Great strings
Easily installed on my DC Junior. Not too bright as some strings can be, these strings accentuate the mid-range frequencies and are perfect for rhythm work; bump up the treble and they do lead equally well. Only 4 stars for sound because the bass response is slightly lacking. Still highly recommended: an excellent budget set of strings.
Surprisingly good
Very good, as someone who lives 40ft from ocean and the salt air making strings not last long, these last a long time.
Lots of bang for the buck
I've been using Elixir strings for years now. I like the "feel" and sound of new set of strings, but I am too lazy to change a set. So coated strings are ideal - they keep that new set sound definition for longer than regular strings.
HB coated strings feel good and they sound good. I never made a direct comparison between a new set of Elixir and HBs, I go by the "gut" feeling, and that one is good, recordings sound good.
If you are a recording artist and do a lot of studio work, then you probably have your strings game already in order. If you are like me, ie. not a professional, these strings are ideal for practicing and recording as well. Ideal for that guitar that you forgot you have, but still like to take it out of the case and play it once in a while.
Given the price and performance it's now a no-brainer for me - I can get 3 sets of these strings, instead of 1 set of Elixir strings. Sound and durability so far, seems to be 80%-90% of what I've seen with Elixirs.
Value
These are as good as more expensive coated strings.
good strings
as good as any on the market
So so
Would not recommend them....
Packaging looks great...and that's about it
I've bought these and a set of 9's to try out.
Tried nines on my fender telecaster, high e and b snapped in three days of putting them on. I've tried these on a Les Paul, they lasted 4 days. Just a poor quality of the string itself
Great value
These strings are overall great.
They're rusting much slower than the D'Addario strings I was using previously and I can't hear any difference in sound.
I've had one D string which was a bit unevenly wound but it didn't seem to affect the tone at all.
why not get them
decent quality and very cheap, brilliant for having them as spares aswell, they sound good...not amazing but i wasnt expecting them to be, pretty much every order i make from here i intend to put a set of the 10's and 11's because it really doesn't make a difference to my order and its good to have some reliable good sounding strings on hand that i can place in my guitar toolbox, my spare parts box, and any guitar cases so no matter what, these are there ready to save the day, id recommend anyone get a couple of each to try out and keep on hand.
Wow for the price is prize.
I was expected worse quality
They have done it again
Man... Hod does Harley Benton manage to offer such quality for so reasonable price. Coated strings under 4€.
I cant comment on sound yet - they are waiting for next string change and then I will update my review.
A greaat set of strings
I am a person with very sweaty hands, so coated strings are a must for me. Not coated ones last me a week and are completely black in a month. I have been using Elixirs for many years, but i was looking for a budget option and honestly, these are fine. They are not as good as Elixirs but they last me 3 months without any corrosion. They feel fine to play, a bit more smooth than standart non coated ones, but not as smooth as Elixirs.
To cut it short : 75% performance of Elixirs for 30% of the price
They sound great
Was using Elixirs up until now.
Now i'll be using these going forward.
Suprisingly good!
Coated strings at this price?? I thought they muct be rubbish, but no! They're fab! They sound nice, the hold their tuning and they intonate well. Great stuff!
Good Value For Money
I've used these strings for some time now, live and in the studio, and am still amazed at the quality and tone considering the low price. Because they are coated they are long lasting. I have spent a fortune in the past on "name" coated brands but if you understand that you are not buying top of the range, these strings are very good value, with not a huge amount of difference in tone...I just love them.
