My favourite guitar

I've played the Taylor gs mini on multiple occasions... but honestly, I prefer my CLGS travel every time... it's honestly ma favourite guitar, I play it every day, mostly because it's so comfortable to play and it sounds just great. I slap some EB earthwood 10-50 stings on it... and it sounds just amazing.

Fine guitar

Great acoustic .

Awesome guitar that suits my 5ft 7inch frame much better than dreadnaught guitars, very comfartable and easy to play, lovely neck and frets ,guitar set up was good and stock strings good, sounds great with good projection of sound, being a spruce top its a little more treble sounding but that is my opinion and i knew that before purchase, great guitar super comfy and sound great too.

The guitar rocks

For the price I am speechless. My Benton CLGS10S Travel is already banged up fairly good and going strong. It busked for a year, withstood falling down, heat, cold, being drilled for 2 pickup systems and even scalloping of the neck. I even played a part on a jingle on the radio for it. It just sounds great. It looks great, plays even better with a crazy low action after a subtle fret level. With my next order im buying another one just to have in case I break the one I have. I mean we live in a age where great instruments are sooo affordable and you can comfortably hand this one to the guy at the bar that just wants to play a song after the gig for his friends. Even the bag is above what I expected when I bought it.

Amazing

Wonderful little guitar. Fully playable out of the box. Nice finish, low action, comfortable V-shaped neck, decent frets and tuning machines. No buzz or truly dead spots anywhere. Some frets are a bit quieter then their neighbors but that’s not a big issue. Resonance and playability can’t match those of an expensive full-sized acoustic guitar, but they’re quite acceptable. I’ve played for several hours without any strain. Actually it’s quite a pleasant experience exploring the possibilities of that tiny little treasure. Perfect for my upcoming travel. The gig bag is nice. Very light, compact but absolutely playable guitar for the money. It’s a good idea to use some oil for the fretboard. The frets are a little rough on the edges but that doesn’t affect the playing unless you favor some crazy slides. Stable tuning. In tune along the fretboard, no matter if you play solo or chords. Changing the strings with Elixir 10-47 phosphor bronze was a trade-off - increased speed, playability and bending but less resonance.

Awesome, very comfortable guitar

Very good guitar for travel as well as playing while sitting on sofa. Also could be a great option for kid/teenager to start the adventure with acoustic guitar. Very easy to play, inspires to learn new stuff. Great value for the money! The sound is good, not as loud as full size guitar but rich and full. Overall, I'm very satisfied. Would definitely recommend this one

Pros:

- Playability, comfort

- Great look

- Sound

Cons:

- Machine heads not the best quality (In my case at least). Would recomment to replace them initially

Little bomb

Solid spruce top works pretty well.while strumming you are feeling the vibration, solid built,no any defect. Set up: no set up needed.. play well since arrived 7months ago

GS contender

Fantastic little bit of kit.

Gives the T GS a run for it's money.

Set up was OK but as I always do with any guitar I but is set it up myself with my choice of string and action.

After this was done it transformed into a very nice sounding guitar.

For the price these are remarkable, the case is great quality and all in all fantastic instruments.

You honestly can't go wrong with this.

Great, handy travel guitar

I ordered 2 of these.

1 arrived in flawless condition while the other one had pretty bad shipping damage. This review will be based on the one without damage.

First of all, the finish is gorgeous and the inlays around the soundhole really makes it pop. The action was low with no buzz, the intonation was good and it held the tuning pretty well. I love that it has glossy finish on the body and satin finish on the neck, so it looks great but also feels great to play.

The tuners could be better as it's can be annoying to tune it because of the gear ratio, but it's not something I would upgrade on such a cheap guitar. When it's in tune, it's stable enough. It's quite loud for such a small body, and the solid top resonates nicely.

It did seem to lack some treble, and had some unwanted sizzling highs.

When I changed to phosphor bronze strings, the sizzling went away and the sound became nicely balanced.

For this price, this is a great guitar for sofa use or as a travel guitar.

It does not seem too sturdy though, so be careful.

Nice small body guitar

This is my second guitar, a use it for couch fingerpicking. As it is small body guitar, sound is great for fingerpicking, fingerstyle, but for strumming you should not expect miracles, although it's enough loud.

Build quality is fantastic, i am amazed how it can be well made with that low cost. It also look nice (same as pics from website).

Guitar come with high action, but setup is very well made, intonation on every string is correct.

Gig bag is ok, but for travels i would take hard case.

Only cons is that there is no strap button on neck.

Very satisfied and happy with it. Playing every day.

Every recommendation, for little money you get a very well made and nice sounding small body guitar.

Better than expected

My most played acoustic guitar now. It has real good playability with neck is and how it came setup. It fits comfortably when I am sitting in my recliner and sounds better than some guitars that are twice the price. You might want some better strings and a setup, but it is nice out of the box. The included gig bag is nice. The best HB purchase I have made so far.

Cracking "Little" guitar

Thought i'd try out an HB travel as my collection of Harley Bentons seems to be growing. Great sounding guitar for such a small package and the finish is lovely. Fit perfectly in the SKB mini case i have.

Simply amazing.

The solid top really resonates! I have this guitar for one year. It has been my most played guitar. SOUNDS AMAZING for a 100€ instrument. It is so pratical because it's small and u can just pick it to play on the sofa, on the car, on the bed, when something creative comes up in your head. I have 3 Harley benton Guitars, (2 eletrics, each double its price) and this is my best one. I would have payed twice the price for it, I am really impressed... Just had to change to a heavier gauge strings and...wow! Really really nice sound coming from this solid spruce top, it's a pleasure to play it!

Almost perfect

A great guitar to take camping or hiking. Body finish is excellent. Neck not so much: A nice satin "V" shape, but sharp fret ends. No strap button on the neck (I did not notice this before purchase). Other Travelers built by other companies have 2 buttons and I did not think to check for this, although it's not a deal killer. I will de-burr the frets and polish them to smooth the surface. Also will install a second strap button. The sound is full and only slightly more tenor than my Fender FA 135CE. Overall a very good Traveler guitar!

Good value

Bought as a gift to a young girl just learning to play. Personally have the lower priced mahogany version and will upgrade to this if I can sell it on.

Surprisingly good sound and finish for the price and size. But expect imperfection in the "Selected" solid spruce top.

Most notable faults where frets sticking out do to neck shrinked and fretboard not oiled properly. This is the fourth HB guitar I've had my hands on and all of them came with dried out fretboards. Not that oil cost much so one can speculate as to why this is?

Although the guitar are stable and holds it tuning well there is nothing Deluxe about the machine heads other than the name.

Gigbag is ok, but padding could better for real traveling.

Overall this is a great beginners guitar for smaller hands, but also good fun to have laying around for parties and traveling. At this price point it's surely recommended if you can give it an hour TLC to sort out the fretboard yourself.

Good guitar at the second shot!

I decided to purchase this guitar tempted by its size and the good reviews and the solid top.

It arrived with a very noisy and disturbing fret buzz and some paint scuffs around the top of the neck. Decided to give it back and the second that arrived was much better, almost another guitar especially for quality of construction.

For 130 euro you bring home a nice guitar with a nice case, the sound is pretty on the high end and it has that effect of instant and not big warmth that the spruce gives. Is instant and sudden, not the best for fingerpicking but nice for strumming!

Is a fun guitar that I would recommend to those that want a comfortable cheap but nice guitar.

I would have loved to be able to make the comparison with the other gs travel (88 euro) in mahogany and spruce and see how is the comparison with them.

great little guitar for the price

It is a Taylor gs mini copy, hand-crafted in China. For just about 130 euros, the guitar is well-made and great sounding. The top solid spruce came a bit distorted and not completely flat, but you get what you pay for. I threw on good old bone nut, saddle, and bridge pins, and wow! The guitar is loud for its small body, and has a great tone for its price. The action of low E string came with about 3mm at 12th fret, which is a tiny bit too high for me, but it was an easy problem to fix. Overall, I am happy with my purchase!
