Surprised how good it sounds

I bought this guitar because It had a built in Pick Up, comes in handy when recording. Connected a DI with built in EQ to round of some of the high's, worked out nicely.

Value mor money..but

I have delayed writing a review for this guitar in order to try and give a more accurate account of the products pros and cons. Having had the guitar for twelve months I can offer the following information to prospective buyers;

Pros-Very good play-ability, well made, good finish and very good value for money. Guitar stays in tune.

Cons-Would have preferred a hollow body version as without amplification this model is very very quite. The guitar sounds good amplified with an acoustic simulator effect applied (however, without this effect there is little tone variation, so this is a minus).

Considering the price I am happy with the guitar (build, finish and play-ability). The only real issues with this guitar are 1. its lack of volume output when un-amplified and 2. the lack of tone variation of the guitar when not used with a simulator pedal.

Great build quality and sounds good amplified, Just about loud enough for practising, and turns heads. What more could you want?

Great guitar

Very prompt delivery (as usual). Nicely made guitar, good action and intonation, no blemishes anywhere. Well pleased.

Well

I am disappointed to a certain extent. I expected it would be "electro-acoustic" guitar. I have not found this "acoustic part".

Other than that the guitar is very good. The craftsmanship of the guitar is on a very good level. "Electric part" is also fine - very clean and crisp sound. Tones can be regulated and adjusted to your taste or needs. Moreover it is a very nice looking instrument.

In general I can recommend this guitar, provided that this "acoustic part" is not important for you.

Great tone

I like the feel of the guitar I like the design . It's ok to practice with unplugged but it sounds really good when plugged in ( I use Harlequin amp).

Excellent stand

I use this guitar at home, mainly unplugged in the evening. It is heavier than I expected as it is completely solid, the holes are only a few mm deep. It really is a nylon guitar with the physical characteristics of an electric, albeit with a wider flatter fretboard.

Overall appearance is good from a distance, but there are some natural blemishes in the top and the staining around the fretboard binding/body is not great up close. No big deal for me.

The piezo sounds great on the bottom 5 strings, but the top e is much quieter. I'm hoping that I can adjust the sensor position when I restring it. The bass and treble controls give plenty of useful variation.

It holds tune well and intonation is good all the way up the board.

Overall I'm very happy. The guitar is great for quiet practice and at this price I don't expect an AAA top and finish perfection.

Note: I couldn't cure the quiet top 'e' - the piezo element seems too short to cover all the strings!!

Classical nylon string electro

A real quality build and superb guitar for very little money. Looks stunning and sounds great through acoustic amp or a good DI and straight to PA or speaker. Light, plays well - should be great for gigging. It's set up quite high out of the box but replace the bridge with a lower bone one and there's also good truss rod adjustment. Sounds reasonable for practice unplugged but hook it up to the Fishman Aura DI, dial in your favourite setting for classical guitars and it sounds as good as a top notch instrument. I replaced the truss rod cover with a wooden one and again it looks great. Now gigging with it in small venues - something different for the punters.

Over the moon

After only 3 days of ownership I am more than pleased with this guitar, I was unsure if I should buy for such a low price, but seeing a very good review on YouTube I went for it, and pleased I did, The acoustic sound is actually louder than expected and when connected to an acoustic amp it's unbelievable, I would say the sound is comparable to high end guitars of the same type, build quality can't be faulted and was well packed with a couple of other items, real value for money, with a speedy delivery, Thanks,

Harley benton Custom Line nylon guitar

Having tried a friends Electro- Classical guitar I was keen to to dabble in this type of guitar for myself. I wasnt wanting to spend the £500 + he did .... Ive only had electric guitars for years but fancied a change.

I couldnt be happier. It has a full classic guitar neck/head arrangement and Les paul sized hollow body. Action was better than I hoped for and the finish is pretty high ... not perfect a tiny flaw in the wood but nothing that affects the sound or function. Through a PA its splendid, Im sure someone with more experience than myself can pick out flaws. But they will be minor ones ! All in all its very playable, sounds excellent when amplified. Ive got my fingers crossed there is a steel string version available soon ... I will be investing ! A super product for the cost.

First of all I would like to say that the delivery from Germany to me in the UK was excellent. It was despatched on Monday morning and was put in my hands first thing on Thursday. Packaging was first class.

Upon opening the package I was immediately very pleased by the guitars finish and appearance, it looks great, it feels good in the hands and its quite light too. The 'solid' body has had cavities machined into it for this reason I guess, not to mention housing the electronics of course.

Regarding sound, unplugged the guitar is rather quiet as one might expect but it is loud enough for quiet practise but wow! plug it in and now hear it go. I play through a Roland Micro cube amplifier for practise, busking and even on gigs I plug the P.A. into my Cube so I have control of my sound. This guitar sounds fabulous through this amplifier. Not just for clean nylon sound, it is possible to overdrive too without fear of feedback.

Now for my one complaint, the action was too high at the nut end for my preference, so, very carefully, with a standard hacksaw blade, I have deepened the grooves in the nut where the strings sit thus lowering the action substantially. Tip, I also used the blade to set the gap between strings and top of the first fret. Please, only attempt this if you are very confident in your skills. I take no responsibility.

I bought this guitar as a backup really but having tried it, it will now be my first choice, particularly when playing with my band as I find it very comfortable for playing whilst I am standing up, due to the thin body, at last I am not the only one sitting down.

Another feature I really like is the positioning and type of controls for volume, tone and bass. It is SO much easier to make a quick adjustment on the fly rather than trying to do it on the usual sliders mounted on the top side of all other electro acoustics.

Summing up then, I consider this guitar better than the Stagg equivalent which costs more and in my opinion has a 'thinner' sound on the treble strings and far too much sustain on the bass strings. For the price of the Harley Benton Nylon it is a really nice instrument and I love it.

Had to buy this guitar because it seemed very intresting, great specs and good looking. Out of the box the action was not to my taste and the stock strings where a bit dull. So had to do little work on the action and change the strings. It still has some sharp frets and some string buzz that needs to be taken care of, but otherwise the guitar has a nice feel to it. Theres not much acoustic sound from the guitar but ut still sounds good acousticly. Pluged in is when this guitar srarts to shine. It has a very nice sound and the trebke and bass pots have a large spectrum so you dail in all kinds of nkce sounds. But the electronics in the guitar are a bit cheap, but i guess they are easy to change. Even if the guitar has a few faults I love it.
