The guitar surprised me in a bad way

Well it came to me like it was used. It had deep scratches all over. The metal cover for neck bolts was placed unfairly. The strings were old and rusty. So it took me a while to polish and fix everything. Overall cant advise to anyone.

It's great but is a slightly different shape to the picture.

A good guitar for it's price.

The guitar came in a double box, it was safely packed with styrofoam. It has got a good tone, perfect for playing punk or metal.

Ok, but there are some drawbacks.

This is my first electric guitar and I have nothing to compare with. I've heard a lot about the quality of harley benton. But I have never in my life held a very bad or very good electric guitar. Therefore, I cannot compare quality, only emotions.

Well, the sound is very good, warm and fat, a little lacking in highs, but either I could not tune the combo amplifier, or this sound happens only on stratocaster. Of the minuses, the edges of the lining are slightly erased in the region of 20-24 frets. The still open 6 string rings with a large attack.

I like the sound because of, but it's hard for me to evaluate, since I did not play electric guitar, only bass guitars.

What is important to say! I sit down to play this guitar and play for 2-3 hours without feeling this time at all!

First electric guitar

Been playing for about 3 months on a cheap acoustic and decided to do an upgrade. Guitar sounds really good and has a soft sound or a hard gritty rock n roll sound. Great for lots of genres.

Is on the cheaper side and has great quality.

New guitar came partially dissasembled and with a crack in the paint

They sold the DC 200 as a new guitar yet came damaged (worse than any B-stock) - a crack in the paint near the neck, the 3-way selector switch was not attached to the guitar (the washer and nut were missing), it is different shape than pictured on the product sales page and has some imperfections in the paint (paint bubbles).

Great beginner guitar, but will need setup first

I've owned this guitar for a few months now, this being my first guitar, and I am impressed by how much guitar you're getting at this price.

Since the pickups have a high output, my Blackstar Fly 3 practice amp has no issues producing high gain sounds on the overdrive channel. The pickups are cheap, as expected for the price, so don't expect any amazing sound from it. It sounds harsh when playing clean, but sounds okay with high gain distortion.

The hardware on the guitar will need replacing if you are planning on using thicker strings, as I am using 56-13 gauge currently. I've upgraded to locking tuners because the original tuners are not good for anything else but E Standard. I've also changed the bridge to a roller bridge because the original bridge was very difficult to adjust, which now means my guitar's intonation is good now.

If you're not keen on upgrading, at least get the action sorted out. It will make playing this guitar a lot easier.

Once properly set up, it is a great guitar for the price.

A good beginner guitar

I have been learning to play a guitar for a year by now. I started playing on a classical guitar and this Harley Benton DC-200 is my first electric guitar. So far I have been very pleased.

The delivery was very quick and the guitar was well packed. The guitar looks very nice. The initial setup was done, the intonation was correct, the action was a bit high but I have used to a much higher action on a classical guitar. Knobs are very nice and work well. The guitar sounds great.

The only remark is that tuners of thicker strings (4-6) are not so good and it takes a bit time to get the tuning correct. Once in tune, it holds tuning very well. The quality of tuners is the reason I lowered the quality rating by a star. I might replace the tuners in the future.

I am very happy with my new guitar.
