Holy smokes I love this thing

The fret edges, The sound, The features. I love this thing and it's a great first acoustic for me. If you want to nitpick then some edges on the body aren't the best quality, and the piezo doesn't sound great. But the sound from the soundhole is all you need if you want to record so... Yeah, Buy this thing.

Blues Acoustic

I wanted an acoustic that I could take anyplace like the beach or camping etc. This is a cool little guitar. It is a nice size and sounds good. It has a built in tuner and pickup and the finish looks old. I have never done a relic job but this one may get just a touch to give it more of that Delta blues look.

Small and punchy

This guitar punches way above its price range!

Looks great in the flesh. Feels manly, like a barrel of whiskey. Mini Jumbo shape is underrated. Especially in full mahogany, the clear, punchy midrange cuts through the masses of dreadnoughts everyone seems to have. You won't be louder that your friends, but you will be heard.

Neck is semi feels like a D profile, but slightly chunky. I have tiny hands and still fits me well. Frets are too small, unfortunately. The guitar body feels dinky, slim and very comfortable.

Pickup is alright. No Fishman, but still way better than early noughties TCY. Built-in tuner is a lifechanger. I don't understand why electrics don't have it as standard.

Tuners don't please me, but they do the job well. Minor finish flaws can be found, but seriously, when guitar looks like this, it would look all the better when you bash it up a bit.

I filed the fret ends, oiled the fretboard, changed strings a few times and swapped the bridge saddle for a TUSQ and pins for brass. I recommend it.

I can't believe how much guitar Harley Benton provides for the money.

Great for the price.

After having this small body HB cheapy for a few days, it's clear it doesn't do some things well.

The small body doesn't resonate well (no surprise), and the mahogany makes for a bottom heavy sound, meaning the top strings can get a bit lost.

It doesn't hold vibrato well, or hammer.

Fingerpicking sound isn't great, but is clear.

On the plus side, it's an £89 guitar that plays pretty well, and if you give it a thrash, it can not only take it, but sounds a lot better.

I also didn't buy it for the sound - I bought it because it's small, light and really comfy to just sit back and mess with, so it fulfills it's function, and then some, since it came well set up and is nice to play (the neck is quite narrow, but not too bad.)

I bought this to take out, and keep close for practice, because it's so light, and I don't care if it gets bumped.

The tuner is pretty accurate

.

Through an amp it sounds thin.

It does exactly what I bought it for, so money well spent.

amazing value

This may not be the finest guitar you'll ever own but for the price it's incredibly good value, especially given the fact that it comes with a built in tuner and a decent bag. It sounds much better as a guitar at this price than you could reasonably expect. It's not fair to be over-critical about build quality-maybe if you'd paid £300 for it, but certainly not at this price. In actual fact, it's not too bad at all, there's a slightly annoying rattle from a loose cable inside the body but I think this would be very easily rectified when I replace the strings at some point in the future. Recommended.

Great for the price

This guitar has a really nice tone and plays really nicely. I've yet to record it yet so don't know about the electrics. But for those on a budget I would throughly recommend it.

Beautiful Guitar!

Well, it looks amazing. As for the sound its a budget friendly instrument so you can't expect too much. Great companion for the camping!

Better than expected

Better than expected, great communication, fast trackable shipping to the US.

The guitar was much better quality than expected.

Could not have asked for anything more.

Cons: 1, There is a wire inside moving around that I can hear if shaking the guitar. Not a big deal really, but it is not something that I would expect from name brands.

Impressive

The body and the neck feels just right. Although this is slightly smaller than a standard guitar, it sounds really full with enough body. It has the right mid balance.

My only concern is that the preamp doesn't do any justice to the guitar. The preamp doesn't fully capture the sound of the guitar and sounds rather twangy. But if it doesn't bother you, you can go ahead because this is a really good deal.

Decent for the money

For the money the guitar is fairly worthwhile, especially as a starter guitar.

The guitar sounds great, and the included pickups are fairly decent, especially the amount of EQ controls you get. I found the inbuilt tuner to not be particulary accurate however it does the job just fine. The guitar is comfortable to hold and play.

The wood the body was made from had a slightly cheaper looking finish than I would like, after seeing it once it arrived, and there was a visible join on the bottom of the body. The bridge was also fairly cheap feeling and had a small dent in the bottom on mine. The sticky pad that holds a pickup wire inside the guitar also kept falling off and I have had to stick it back twice.

Astonishing !!

Let's be honest, for this money, I was not expecting a Takamine, ...but I have to say I am very impressed by the sound and features. Electronic is complete and once plugged you have the real thing of course but the unplugged sound is very rich: sharp, presence, headroom and low-end.

Now, for the quality (e.g. choice of the wood), you can feel this is not top notch wood craft, but, again, this does not prevent from having something very VERY comfortable and playable.

This is the guitar you take everywhere, that rocks and that you are not afraid to get out of its case anytime !

Acceptable qualities for a BFYB acoustic.

I grabbed this on further review by mr.koe in s'pore of the model he recieved.

For the price the style & looks are great. With the right strings (i put ernie ball earthwound lights on it) this guitar is beautiful for finger picking, chords, string bends & anything in the treble to mid sound spectrum.

That said ... the neck is a lil too thin thought it would be great for a beginner ... Again as I have mentioned before these lower tiered acoustics need medium jumbo frets on them not vintage ones. Also ... if you like to bang out chords loudly like playing the who's "tommy" opening ... this will box out the guitar as it does not have great bass projection & you will hear it. But if your a light to moderate strummer/picker this guitar will be fine for you.

Great beginner guitar on the cheap that fits your body well.

It’s,,,,ok!!

You need to understand that this guitar is very, very light,it does have a big sound and looks great but the fret ends are sharp and it is a little difficult to play,,over all this guitar needs a little work to be a good playable guitar,,but you can’t beat the price...

Harley Benton Delta Blues MJCE

So, here's my short review on the MJCE. Overall it's a nice budget guitar, I'd say good for campfire or practicing. The sound is pretty nice, to be honest. Imagine getting a budget all-mahogany guitar.

Everything, however, has both pros and cons. I mentioned the goodies, so here are the downsides. I don't know if it's just my guitar, but apparently I see visible glueline inside the body (through the sound hole). Kinda kills off the vibe a bit. Second is the metal frets being a bit... well I don't know what to say but I feel a bit unfomfy when I slide my hand. Third is the EQ. I don't like the tone of this, but the tuner is quite useful, nonetheless. And a minor thing is the logo on the headstock, it makes the guitar look like a knock-off.

Yeah, that's it for my review, and it's just my personal verdict. I do rercommend this guitar for beginners or those who look for a good guitar for a good price!

Good for the price

This is in no a great guitar, but it's good for it's price. It looks nice, though there are clear signs of sloppy work on the guitar, as to be expected from the price. This guitar is nice for home use, but leaves a lot to be decired when gigging. The electronics aren't that great and i've experienced problems with the input crackling and sometimes not producing any sound at all. Again something you'd expect for somethign this cheap.

I'd recommend this guitar if you just want something to play with when home, or as i did when i desperately needed something that i could use in an emergancy at a gig.

I wanted an acoustic guitar for so long. I always played on classicals, but I wanted one to carry around easy with a bag and not a case. I looked for a guitar which looked very vintage and cool. And I found that one! I didn't want to pay a lot since it is not for concerts or professional use.

I am very happy with the looks of the guitar. Also by the sound. I am honest in everything and will also review my least best thougts. The sound is great, but one the low E string I got a lot of ringing when i pick the snare with my thumb. Its because of the low action you can see on the fretboard up the side of the tuners. And I think this is partly on purpose, to create the blues effect. The other strings are fine. I got a very rich sharp sound out of the guitar. Lots, lots of volume, well intonated chords. Tuning is very good, also the in-made tuner works perfect. If i got to mention 1 downside, than it is that the fretboard is made of cheap wood. Bending string and making vibratos is very hard to execute because of the quality. For a 100 euro guitar this is perfect for me. Since I just want to take it everywhere and play some chords to sing songs on! Very nice guitar!

Great instrument

Brilliant finger-picking guitar - sounds great, straight from the box - not a single negative thing to say about this beauty - My original reason for it's purchase was to be at hand around the house - but I may just take this gigging - it is unique
