Harley Benton DNAfx GiT Reviews
What an amazing pedal
I was incredibly surprised when I first found this pedal, at how cheap it is. The controles do take some getting used to, but once you remember what everything does its a fairly streamlined process.
It has surpluss different amps, so theres almost certainly one that will work for you. You can use up to 9 different effects on each preset, and each effect type (reverb, delay, etc) also have several different variations. You can configure the settings of each effect precisely to your liking.
I also love how I can configure the expression pedal to do whatever I would like. Change the gain level on the amplifier, adjust the rate on my reverb, crank the mix on my wah, are just some examples. Each preset can have its own expression pedal setting. (Note, I recommend you calibrate the exp pedal when you first get it, as I had great trouble at first - the min and max were calibrated fine, but the press toggle was not so matter how hard I pressed, nothing happened).
I was greatly surprised when I first downloaded the software. It works flawlessly, and makes it incredibly easy to create and modify presets. I also love how when I visit a menu through the software or change a parameter such as gain level, the screen on the pedal also adjusts accordingly, and vice versa. I can even watch live the settings update as I press the exp pedal.
I was worried with the price at how good the sound quality would be, but I cannot fault it at all. Sounds exactly like a normal amp.
The rhythm beats provided are fairly standard. There are many to choose from and you can manually input a tempo, or tap one. The metronone works the same, and is a handy feature.
The looper and the tuner also work perfectly as described. I use the tuner as a mute toggle switch, although you can bypass the mute if you like to hear your guitar when tuning.
The pedal feels durable, and I expect (and hope!) it can survive being thrashed around for the next many years to come.
The only things I can criticize about the pedal is how it is difficult to move presets around. I was hoping I could simply drag one above another in software, but all I can do is delete, copy, and paste, so it takes a little more time than I would like. I also do wish it had a power toggle switch. Apart from that, absouletely flawless and 100% worth what I paid!
nice thing
For my home use, the settings are more than enough. The factory presses were not to my liking. Nice tuner, which is clearly visible in the dark. It is very convenient that the tap button flashes to the beat, and you intuitively understand at what frequency the effects vibrate. It's nice that next to each group of effects there is a diode showing whether this effect is on. It is not very convenient to use in the looper mode (although this is a matter of habit), you have to press a lot of button combinations. But very long segments can be recorded, and that's cool! Very light and compact body. The electrical adapter is pulsed - most likely this can lead to unnecessary overtones (but this is also easy to change). Outcome: I'm happy!
Useable multi effects for the price of a headphone amp!
I wanted a headphone amp for practice, but discovered that this was an excellent multi effect unit as well. Easy to edit your own patches, but loads of good presets too. Tuner and looper are other additions which make practice more fun. Make no mistake, this is a live giggable multi effect too.
Reliable and loyal
An excellent option among similar prices. The processor gives you many great sounding effects and preamps. Of course, the controls take some getting used to, but you will quickly get used to it. I used it in my home studio and it worked well in places. The body looks sturdy. The processor itself fits into the front pocket of the guitar case.
Thanks to this processor, I began to understand better which effects are more attractive to me. I use pedals most of the time, but I really wanted to combine everything in one. And I'm generally happy with the perfect purchase.
SUPER DEAL
This thing KILLS my TWO Line6 PODS which BOTH (Mk2 & Mk3) Stopped working after EXACTIY 10 Years....Where do tou think fender would be is ALL THEIR AMPS BLEW UP after 10 years &ONE DAY???
Harley Benton DNAfx
What a fantastic product. I would never go on a gig without it. It contains a replica of every amplifier that I could ever need. Thank you so much Harley Benton.
Versatile but not for performance.
This machine was good in its day and the presets and sound quality are very good. It is "old" tech by now and devices that are easier and smaller are available now. Still a good machine that I occasionally use to create loops or presets. Its not suitable as a pedal board for live performance even though it has foot switchs. The presets cannot be ordered so one would have to scroll through 100+ presets to locate one. not something you would want to do live. Also what genius decided that white lettering on a silver body was a good idea, Try reading that from a standing position. I liked it but its outdated now in my opinion but its still good as a desktop device for composing etc.
Absolut perfekt
Also ich finde wirklich keinen Kritikpunkt. Perfekt, um mit verschiedensten Klängen zu experimentieren und eine optimale Lösung für guten Sound bei Kopfhörernutzung.
Wie viel Geld, so viel Musik
great unit
H.B. multi-fx unit is the best unit I personally have used for fx
Good but not for my purpose
It is possible to generate good sounding presets for recording direct into your DAW. You need to tweak it though. The provided software makes this very easy. You than can store this into the device. It's a well build solid machine. The price is very low for what you can get out of it. I bought this to get workable presets for rehearsals and maybe gigs... not to drag my pedalboard with me. This did not work for me....as the acoustics in different rooms and situations makes it sound different. Then diving in the menu's to tweak it on the spot is a hassle. My pedals give me more flexibility for live situations than this device does so i did send it back. Not a bad item, but not for me...
It does everything I need
The user interface is pretty cryptic, but once I got the hang of it I could make the sounds I was looking for at a much lower price than elsewhere. My old ears can't hear the difference between the various amp sims, but then I can't hear the difference between the real amps either :) My old ears also complained that the headphone socket wasn't loud enough, but younger users should be ok.
Excellent for the price
Lots of great sounds, at this price it's ideal for a beginner.

I have received the item two days ago and and my thought were controvertial at the beginning as I met two little issues that spoiled my impression.
Major cons that made me buy this little multi FX:
1. It has independent headphones output that allows me to play and set the pedal as I want without having an amp to plug it in.
2. It looks pretty well for the price.
3. It has the expression pedal that can be used in different modes such as wah, volume and even adjusting the 'knobs' of the pedals I chose in presets.
4. It has looper that works pretty well.
5. It has the amp and cab simulations which I use at my rehearsal room (like J900, 65 USTW and UK30 CL).
These are the pros I found while using this multi fx:
1. The tuner works pretty slow in my opinion and it is a little bit hard to tune the guitar with that quickly.
2. All wah effects don't sound like real wah in my opinion.
3. The headphones output sometimes doesn't work that I have to find kind of special spot to make them sound.
All in all, the piece is worth buying because for the price it offers you a great amount of effects and amp\cab sims that allow use to play both straight to an amp and to a mixer.
Awesome Nice gear. Compact can take Compact can take it any any where.😎
Vary glad with it
I would like a more intuitive interface, but in general this is a very good device, especially for those who have not dealt with this kind of thing before. It came without damage.
Best value for money
If you looking for device capable of IR loading and effects, that's it. I am using it in chain after tc tube pilot(with HIGH gain tube sovtek) with markV clean AMP and IR for diezel cab and it's sounds fantastics.
Value For Money
For £120ish, it is faultless. Metal case is a plus point. Shipping was reasonably quick considering I ordered over Xmas and the pandemic. Some decent default sounds, although the noise gate is a bit harsh straight out of the box.
In summary, you can't get better for this kind of money.
good for the price
Pros:
The sound is rather good, at least for this range of price.
A lot of functionalities, including looper = all in one,
robust build
Cons:
No Power switch, could be added.
I am not always convinced by the presets (I really hate this noise gate almost present in all, but this is a detail)
A lot of manipulation to change setup etc, due to the limited number of buttons avail
Great Multi FX for the price
This is a great little unit easy to set up your own preset and sounds great and build quality is good too. Recorded a couple of mixes with this already and they sounds really good very impressed, further review to appear on my YouTube channel
