Budget delay D-Seed by Harley benton

This is an excellent delay. I don't mean 'for this price', no it's just an excellent sounding delay with cool features. Had to get used to operating it (but that's with most new stuff) but I'm very satisfied with it and can recommend it.

Great!

Harley Benton is becoming my go-to in guitar pedals whenever I'm curious about a sound produced by an effect. It's not expensive and it lives up to those of higher status.

It's a great delay pedal. Has the sounds I was looking for.

The tap tempo is a bit tricky and not very handy, since you have to press both buttons simultaneously, thus my 3 stars in handling.

The box doesn't feel cheap material.

Overall, it's a very good choice, specially if you're on a budget.

Echo,echo,echo,echo.....

The positives:Cheap,well built,two delays in one and plenty of delay options.The manual isn't bad either.

The negative:The dc input at the side interferes with the jack input on my pedalboard,having it at the top of the pedal would have made more sense.

Overall an excellent little pedal with more than enough features and it doesn't sound too bad either.

Very nice pedal

I bought this because of the two-channel feature, which is very useful when switching between two types of delay often.

The pedal seems quite solid and there are a lot of options.

Definetely one of the best for its price.

Cheap but very versatile and good quality delay pedal.

This delay pedal has quite a lot options for its money. The awesomeness of it is that for about 70 EUR you got two channel up to 6 seconds of delay pedal with tap tempo option and additional opportunity to add external switch.

It is surprisingly well built - shellcase is solid and smoothly printed. Switch knobs are tight and has tiny click when you press it. Probably same as for Darkglass Supersymmetry. Small thing but really pleasant.

It has four delay mods and all of them sounds great. Carbon Copy replicates played notes precisely even with high gain distortion pedal it does not become a huge sound mess.

Analog mode sounds really like analog delay pedal with a little cut of high frequencies. It really good for rhythm playing so repeats won?t jumps over your playing. Modulation adds modulation like effect to repeats and can make your solos or clean guitar a bit more thick and interesting and even sci-fi sounding. Fun to play some slides using this mode. Reversal mode is nice for non-standard effects. It might not be often usable, but sometimes it adds a little schizo to your tone.

Didn?t try external pedal, no need of that so can?t comment that option. Tap tempo feature adds more versatile to pedal, but anyways delay time has wide range and can cover all player?s needs. Pedal produce no additional noises that means it has good quality of built. It also can be used on bass if you want to and it will still sound great.

Good sound but ...

The ability to have two programmed delays with a choice of 4 types was the reason I got this pedal. And the sounds are pretty good for the price. I would say that if you are on a budget this is the best delay pedal you can get for under 100 EUR. However, when you think that world class delays (I will not mention the name of the Danish company to which I refer) are available at a touch over 100, then it's no real contest. In use I can't really fault it for sound, but IMO this should be stereo, and for some reason I kept triggering the tap delay when I was changing from one setting to another which was really annoying (maybe the buttons were too sensitive?). So it's left my board. At the end of the day you get what you pay for.

Great Pedal for the money

Needed a decent digi delay that had good sound and did not break the bank this is great:

Mode1) digi delay is great , very high sound quality, comparable to boss and other good quality delays, Mode

Mode 2) Analog EDIT: When i first bought this, i did not like this mode at first, after owning this pedal for a year now, and learning more about and owning more analog delays, i can say this is a good analog delay sound, not as good as some others i have but close, and is cheaper by a way than those pedals

Mode 3) Modulation, i love this mode, its like mode 1 but with a nice chorus on it, very usable sound,

Mode 4 ) reverse, this mode is fun but would require much practice to use effectivly, its an odd effect and i feel the effect Time parameter is the one to master on this mode, more experimental for sure than the other modes

Outstanding for the price, a bit difficult to use

The Harley Benton (also sold as Joyo) D-SEED is one of the cheapest tap-tempo delay pedals available. It's well-built, sounds good, and is a great introduction to delay pedals.

+ Good build quality; the case is solid metal and the controls feel sturdy.

+ Bypass doesn't `suck tone'. It's not true bypass AFAIK, but I haven't noticed any deterioration in tone.

+ Analogue and digital modes both sound great.

BUT there are some downsides, mainly related to usability:

- Tap tempo is done by pressing both buttons at the same time. The makes it hard to be accurate with the tempo.

- When tapping the tempo, you have to tap an EVEN number of times. If you don't, it goes into this strange looper mode. This is incredibly inconvenient if this happens during a gig (it's happened to me...).

- The modulation mode is cool, except I find the modulation very strong. Ideally this would be adjustable.

To summarise, I think this is a great pedal for experimenting with delay sounds in private, or even recording. However, I wouldn't really recommend it for live use because of the usability issues; I know several people who use it live regularly without issue though, so YMMV.

great delay

not easy to find a delay with all these features, even more expensive units are not obvious, this has many functions, each type is well made, is built with care, it is not small as big, the buttons for activating and tap tempo are well made and do not give any problem. The dual-channel is really helpful and very powerful.

The analog type is incredible how beautiful despite being a fully digital unit, raccomanded.

Very nice product

This is a very nice product expecially for the money you give to buy it! The analog and reverse sound that i use are fantastic! Very nice simulations! The handling is great! It's tap is functionable although it seems strange to push both buttons, is very easy to do! The buutons are not the classic one pedal buttons. They are very soft and easy to push! The 2 memories are also very useful, and i believe that saving each change you make on the memory by just pushing the left button, is very easy and useful too. Overal this is the best digital simulation delay i have ever work with!

The only thing that i did not like is that when you are on the analogue mode and you turn the time button suddenly, it does not make the characteristic effect that usually the analogue delays do....something that i used to enjoy a lot on my boss me70 multieffect prossecor although it was a simulation, too!

Budget pedal without the budget sound.

From my limited experience with this pedal, I can already tell that it's a keeper.

It comes with all the features of some of the most expensive delay pedals out there.

Nothing wrong with the unit to date.

A little Monster/Ein kleine Monster

It's absolutely brilliant for its price. It's small and rugged and produces everything exactly as it's claimed. I feel that the info sheet that comes with it a bit limited in instruction so I Googled D-SEED and found the manufacturer's video. This tells you exactly what you need to know. I'm a bit of a retro freak and this fits the bill perfectly with a crisp modern feel to it.

Now I'll try it in German.

Ein totale Schnäppchen für seinem preis. Ich fand das Infoblatt etwas limitiert so ich habe D-SEED gegoogled und der Hersteller Video gefunden (Joyo). Da werde alles in einfachsten Form geglärt. Er ist kompakt und stark gebaut und ich kann mich vorstellen dass er viel ab kann.

Low price, great sound, two storable channels

The main reason why i purchased this delay were the two storable channels.

The Harley Benton D-Seed has got four different modes:

Digital - This one sounds great. I couldn't hear any sound losses and it gets up to 6 seconds delay!

Analog - I don't use this one very much, because i already have a great sounding analog delay. But it also sounds great, compared to the (more expensive) one i've got.

Modulation - Hard to describe. Sounds very good and mixes in some kind of chrous to the delay. If you like more experimental sounds, this would be the one of your choice.

Reverse - The only channel i wouldn't recommend. Compared to other reverse delays it seems like the reversed delay-sound gets "cut off".

The controls are self-explaining:

Mix - Turn it to the left, to hear more clean-guitar-sound. Turn it right and you will hear more delay and less clean signal

Mode - With this one you switch between the four modes explained above.

Time - This knob controls the delay time. In digital mode it goes up to 6 seconds!

F.Back - It controls the feedback of the delayed signal.

All knobs are confortable to turn. Not to heavy and to too slight. The mode knob snaps in on the channel you choose.

You can even save two of your favourite sets. Great feature, which is hard to find in this price range. With the left footswitch you switch between channel A and B. With the right footswitch you turn the bypass on and off.

Finally it has got a tap tempo. This is why i only gave 4 stars to the handling. To tap, you have to press the two footswitches at the same time to tap in. I sometimes had some trouble with it, that i accidentally turned the pedal into bypass or changed the channel.

All in all i would strongly recommend it.
