5-String Electric Bass

Excellent bass
When l got this last week l was sceptical but how wrong was l ???? Very . The action is spot on ,no defects , plays straight out the box action is sweet well worth the money . What else can l say but l have just now ordered a fretless 5 string by Harley Benton just hope that turns out just as good .
Great fit, features, and look, but sound.....eh
I had been eyeing one of these for quite a while, and I'm so glad that I finally ordered. It looks better in person and is a perfect weight/fit for me. The features are superb, but the SOUND isn't what I had expected.
When the active electronics are not engaged, it sounds warm and beautiful. However, when the active electronics are engaged, it sounds incredibly harsh like it only adds high frequency boost. It takes a lot to tame it.
All in all, I'm still pleased with this purchase, but the preamp could use a tweak or two.
An extremely solid bass especially for the price
I've been needing a solid 5 String for my own recording and this one really did it for me. I'm a huge fan of how you can go from active to passive as I'm not huge on the whole active thing but at least the option is there. I've gotten compliments for this bass and there are no regrets from buying this one
Wonderful bass at a value price.
I received my new bass earlier today. Everything looks and works great straight from the box. The neck feels like the 70’s Fender I learned on. The tone is incredible! It is a little heavier that I imagined, but not unreasonably so. This is a great addition to my collection and I look forward to a lot of great gigs in the future.
Holy Smokes!
I have 3 Harley Benton bass guitars, and this one is the 4th one of the family, and I have to say, I'm truly impressed. Even a store clerk was impressed by it.
I love the pick up blend control, the clear distinction between the P PU and H PU. Truss rod and bridge adjustment is very easy as well, although I didn't have much adjustment to make straight out of the box.
I am not a fan of the active sound on this bass. It doesn't sound natural, and it feels like it is forcing something out that doesn't really belong to the bass. No worries, the passive mode sounds spectacular enough.
The specs say that the neck is "C," but to me, it feels more like "D" than "C." No complaints here, just pointing something out. The sound of this bass is very warm and punchy.
The control knobs seem to be backward, except for the pick up balance, which leaves me slightly puzzled...
Pros:
Price
Quality
Sound
Adjustability
Cons:
Backward control knobs (except for the PU balance)
PU Balance knob is angled, not straight on
Active mode sounds unnatural.
