Harley Benton Extreme-76 BK Classic Series Reviews
Great guitar, greater price!
I’ve played a wide range of guitars in my day and this one blew me away. This is a high quality guitar for an unbelievable affordable price! You can buy your dream guitar models for a fraction of the price and it’ll sound and play just as good!

A metal machine
Guitars should inspire you too be a better player and the ex 76 does just that
The best Ex for your money!
this guitar at a price of just 120 euro is the best give for your money !
it has some of the best features that a guitar at this price range gives you.
as a men with 20 + guitars and over 10 years of collection. The build quality is just great the deafult setup he came with is more than enough and if you do more proffesional setup it will play better than most of the 1000+ guitars. To conclude, this ex is just amazing for his price and the build quality.
Here we go
The guitar came in one piece. Only the toggle switch was affected. Otherwise, I did not find any chips or defects. The guitar is exactly like the photos. The heel smoothly connects the neck with the body, there is a recess in the abdomen. The frets are smooth, it was almost not necessary to tune the guitar. After the acoustics, it feels quite heavy. But it is quite comfortable to play sitting down. In my opinion, this is a wonderful musical instrument. I admit, I was going to make a smaller headless guitar out of it, but my hand does not rise.
Awesome
My daughter talked me into this guitar and I'm glad she did. I have an sg400 pro that cost over £300 when I bought it. Playing the 2 of them you wouldn't be able to tell which one cost more. The only issue I had was a slightly dry fret board and the frets felt rough but other than that it was set up well, the action was exactly where I like it. I bought the Harley Benton extreme metal pedal too and they go well together. This isn't my 1st Harley Benton and won't be my last either.
My favorite purchase
Bought a couple guitars from HB with the intention of maybe selling them on Facebook if they turned out to be a let down. I have been pleasantly surprised but not more so than this specific guitar.
The other TE style guitars were safe bets as long as they were built well. However, to see an Explorer style guitar at this price range had me curious. Most other brands it's hard to get a guitar that looks like this for under $450, with Jackson's Kelly model being relatively similar for about $100 less than that.
This blew me away. The neck is perfectly rolled and the frets are filed down to be very comfortable, if maybe a little messy from tool marks. But that is where the negative feedback ends because at it's current price of $139 I didn't even expect anything remotely close to that.
HB has impressed me greatly with all 3 instruments and how they can offer a satisfactory experience for entry level prices. In the future I am looking forward to buying a more expensive model to see what their higher end work must be like.
Just great
The guitar is amazing!
PROS
neck joint is extremly comfortable
pickups are loud and powerful
fretwork is amazing
frets are jumbo
stays in tune perfectly
CONS
one stopbar stud was not glued
neck dives
Dispite some cons i was amezed by the sound.
For the money it is just a monster!
Best guitar)
I really liked this guitar. Pickups and appearance are especially good)
Best EX that I know of for the money
I've had this guitar for over a month now and it's very nice. The body seems to be a tiny bit smaller than the Gibby and Epi version which, to me, is even better than those higher priced blocks of wood. I like the body and headstock, the neck feels a bit thick but that was expected. Most likely layered with poly paint so it ends up thicker than it should be but not a big deal unless you absolutely need a thin neck. The frets are nicely mounted but initially the strings would grind a bit when bending. The tuners were ok, no problems noted. The pickups seem pretty good. I have no desire to change them at this time. No extraneous feedback or nasty noises and they sound good. No noticeable problems with the controls/switch other than one knob being pushed in a bit initially (probably from shipping) that I simply pulled up away from the body now it's smooth. Bridge and tailpiece are fine other than an imperfectly drilled hole for tailpiece but there's no wiggle and it's tight so I'm good with it. Nut is cut well and action is nice.
What I've done to it: Changed to locking tuners. Moved the front strap holder to the back near where the neck meets the body. Added wheel weights to the backplate/cavity cover. Got a thick leather strap. All of this helped the neck dive that it initially had and which was made worse by the added locking tuners. Now it's much more comfortable and considerably less neck heavy. I cleaned the frets to get rid of the grind. Gonna keep the pickups in it for now because I can't find a reason to change them.
Overall, a very nice guitar in factory shape or you can do your own mods to it to suit your needs. I just wish shipping prices to the USA were not so astronomical. The fees are about the same as the guitar price.
Barbie size explorer
The guitar body is noticeably smaller than the original. It's disappointing. The switch is loose and noisy, but this can be fixed unlike the body .
this is the most metal guitar up to 200 euros
I received this guitar today and was amazed at the build quality and sound quality.
the frets are installed very good, nothing sticks out, the guitar is well painted, the neck is comfortable.
I am very comfortable playing this guitar
the only drawback is the quality of the fret grinding, it is unfortunately bad, but it is fixable.
overall the guitar is great
I enjoyed the purchase immensely.
UPD: after 2 weeks the pickup stopped working
when playing while standing, neck leads down
nice guitar but has some "b-stock" feeling
Okay, it's really nice guitar in general, so I will speak about issues.
1) 1mm height on the first fret?? waaaay too high
2) some broken off varnish on the bottom part of the neck near the body
3) some bad varnish on the neck's head - worn out matted corner
4) pick ups not good for really hi gain music - rock is ok, so why it's "extreme"?
5) the switch is complete crap - hovering around
To conclude: I like it and will play. Since it's not hard to fix the strings height. And all the other things are about it's look only, so the guitar is okay.
Harley Benton Leading The Way
This is my 4th HB guitar. The quality and playability is superb. Most people look on them as copies, and the are, but to the snobs I say, most manufacturers of guitars copy someone and now we have names like Ibsnez etc. This guitar sounds great looks like a classic, but I personally may mod the look, by adding some vinyl cover on scratch plate but everything else stays as is. So, if you can get past the "only Gibson for me" snobbery, you too could have a fantastic guitar at low cost. Because let's be honest if Slash or some other famous guitarist played one, you'd be all over it and these would cost a £1000+
ok for the price
good for a modifying project, solid, good fretwork, Q.C. a bit hit or miss,
would buy again as a cheaper alternative to the ex-76.
This guitar is great!!!
This is a all around great guitar, everything about it is 100 times better then I was anticipating. whether your just starting to learn or you can already play, this guitar is awsome. ever since i recieved the guitar, ive been playing it more then my others. i will definetly be ordering another model soon.
