Harley Benton Extreme-76 BK Classic Series Reviews
Absolutely amazing guitar
Very good quality and comfortable to play Really makes you feel like James hetfield haha
It's a good guitar!
It's worth every penny of what it costs. It will need some minor attention out of the box but not much. Plays well, it may need some upgrades to suit your tastes, mine did. But it's a good player, it has some grunt and it rocks. What else do you need? Turn it up, it'll be just fine.
A very cool guitar
For the price a very good guitar, the weak spot on mine is the tuners, its very light and played well, I had to set up the guitar and intonate a little, as I always do on my guitars.
This is a Beginners guitar and nothing more.
It's plays ok after a good set up. It sounds awful, and you should plan to change the tuners immediately after purchase.
Worth every penny
If you are looking for an explorer shape guitar at a reasonable price i can't reccommend this one enough it sounds killer as is and plays like a dream.
I suppose my only issue would be the nut and how quickly it wears down
BADASS!!!!
I always wanted an explorer, however they were not cheap, this is the best you could find with this price. It has the shape of the ESP's snakebyte which look incredibly badass. Only bad thing is Low E string makes a vibration noise. Beside that it is all good !!!
Hard to beat!
When I bought this guitar it was only $135. I expected a cheap instrument, but what I got was an incredible guitar. I cannot believe the value! The neck feels like a thousand dollar guitar. The sound is great! The pickups deliver an incredible full sound! If you’re considering this one, get it!!!
Cool
Its a great guitar for beginners
good price for this quality
Great guitar
Amazing guitar, sounds great plays well only problem is it might need locking tuners
absolutely brilliant
would highly recommend price is immaculate only one small thing which doesn't affect the rating is the fact you may need to oil the fretboard but if you like it as is go for it
Rough finish and scratchy fretboard
Bought this guitar plus a Harley Benton R446. Guitar came with some scratches and the fretboard is very scratchy and dry. I know it's cheap but it's not half as good as some other less expensive Harley Bentons I bought previously. Very disappointed and would like to send it back but it will cost too much so I'll just have to keep it
Beats all other budget Explorers!
The smoothness of the neck is as good as most high dollar Gibsons. That was my main point in a guitar, you can always change the stuff on it.
I can't believe how good it plays, and how decent it sounds for how cheap it is.
Squire and Epiphone better step up they're game!
Incredible guitar for the price!
I bought this guitar because I love the Gibson Explorer body style, but I can't cough up that kind of money. When I came across this guitar, I knew instantly I had to buy it. The pickups sound great, the guitar was practically in tune right out of the box, the neck/fretboard feel smooth in my hand, volume/tone knobs work well, no neck dive (with my cheap fabric strap), light enough but also heavy enough that it feels like I'm holding something worth more than $135, the list goes on. My only complaint is the box was pretty beat up and there were slight scuff marks on some of the edges. Otherwise, it arrived on time, played great straight out of the box, and feels like it would be a much more expensive guitar. Buy it!!
Definition of value for money
I had to wait a little while due to a lack of stock, but it was worth the wait in the end.
To get the most out of this guitar, I would recommend some (simple and reasonably inexpensive) modifications. The price point marks it out as an ideal beginner’s instrument, but I would hate to think a beginner would be put off by the neck-dive, mixed tuning stability and noisy pickups. Don’t get me wrong: for the price, this is a fabulous guitar out of the box. But there are three mods that I would argue are crucial in order to fully enjoy what it has to offer:
- move the strap button situated next to the neck to where the neck meets the body at the back; this will solve the neck-dive
- replace the tuners with some Klusons or something similar; the originals are OK but feel cheap and more easily lose tuning than more solid options
- replace the pickups. I went for a pair of Wilkinson ‘Hot Chrome’ ones, which only cost me £40 and have a sound comparable to the EMG 81/60 set (which I have on another guitar).
It is perfectly playable and enjoyable without the mods, but with them it can become an absolute beast. In my opinion, there is no better option for a rock and metal fan looking for a solid starter or mod base than this Harley Benton!
Hell Yes
Needed a quick setup out of the box but plays like butter. Cannot recommend enough.
perfect guitar
in my opinion this guitar is much more comortable then Gibson's or Epiphone's explorer, becouse, here some special cutputs that surge of comfort while using guitar
AMAZING GUITAR!
It looks killer and plays great. I live in the U.S. I just needed to tune out of the box. My musician friends are all amazed by the price I paid for the guitar. The transaction was professional and quick! This is the 3rd Harley Benton in my collection. I plan to buy other models.
Decent
Was expecting it to be cheaper made but plays and feels very solid veryhappy
Awesome quality for the lowest price!
Everything is said in the title : you get what you paid for, and it is more than enough for begginer to intermediate players.
Packaging is solid, guitar wasn't damaged during shipping and overall quality is nice : only a few dents on the fretboard, and the white coat isn't 100% fixed to the body. But other than that (which is not even noticed if you don't specificaly look for it) you get exactly what's shown in the pictures.
Bridge was a little too low, so the strings would touch the frets and emit unwanted noise. Luckily, the bridge's height can be easily adjusted with a screwdriver, so it's not an issue anymore.
Switch is responsive, tone and volume controls have a nice grip, pickups are just ok-tier (what did you expect?). Tuners are a little loose but nothing too bad.
If i had to change the gear, I'd go for tuners and pickups first, the rest is more than acceptable (and good looking!) to play.
Was a little worried about the quality of the strings, but I ended keeping the factory ones.
Overall, I'm really satisfied with this guitar. It probably won't last me a lifetime, but I can always change parts or one day decide to upgrade and get a higher budget guitar.
If you're a begginer or occasional player like me, this guitar is everything you need to do some quality rock or metal.
