Super.

Being used to full sized guitars my first reaction was shock at how small it was. But once I started playing it I was delighted! The volume and tone are excellent and it just feels so easy in your hands. I now love the small size and find myself picking it up to play much more often than I did with full sized instruments. In fact, I would say it's quite addictive!

I owned Yamaha GL-1 previosuly and I did expected this to be cheaper alternative and not as well crafted. That being said, - even considering big price difference - it disappointed me. The instrument was playable only in positions close to the nut. The higher up the neck I went, the more out of tune it became. String action was very high due to the neck curvature. Decided to send it back.

Requires modification

The frets aren't correctly tuned, which leads pitch too sharp on higher frets. A lutheir fixed it by moving the nut

Great start for a very young kid

I bought it for my 2 years old daughter to get used to the guitar-like instruments.

It's not comparable with music toys in a toy shop because music can actually be played on this instrument! It is able to be tuned well enough and feels like a musical instrument. Sounds like a little classical guitar with a pleasant sound. The intonation is noticeably not perfect but still good enough.

Every time I play guitar, my kids grab this little one and try playing by themselves and it gives joy with the experience of holding the instrument, pressing the notes, holding a pick, strumming, picking, and having fun. I'm very happy we have it.

This is an amazing instrument!

The quality of the product is amazing! You can tell from the feel of the material! The sound is deep and pleasant, and the design really nice! Not a bad thing to say about this product! Totally worth it!

Met expectations, great thing to have around

The only reason I chose 4 stars for quality is that the nut grooves were so shallow that any attempt to bend the “g” string (tuned c) would dislocate the string from its groove in the nut. I mean who bends on a guitarlele, but still something that could have been checked @ QC.

No complaints though, obviously you shouldn’t expect a 100% percisely intonated range and even the nut position makes it so at certain times the open string would be tuned to pitch and the the first couple of frets would be a bit sharp, so you find the middle ground and do end up having to finetune every now and then, which might be frustrating for someone who’s just starting out. Tip: Get a clip-on tuner for it.

Great for the money

Bought this as an option for a travel guitar.

Feels nice to play, even with small hands. I'm an adult with small hands, this wasn't uncomfortable in any way.

Came set up well enough to play out of the box but always room for improvment. The intonation on mine was slightly out but fixable.

I changed the strings, which was no more difficult than similar instruments. Different strings made a difference to the sound. I didn't put premium strings on it but the ones i did use made it sound a little nicer.

It's a great size to consider taking if you go away. If you are unable to take a normal guitar, this is great to get your fix.

Great sound!

Bought it for its exceptional low price to transform it into an 8 string ukulele. Its well constructed so it was very easy to work with.

Replaced the tuner pegs with a mandolin set, modified the headstock and glued a strip with holes on the bridge so it can be stringed with 6 or 8 strings.

Sounds very good, its loud and not too bright and has longer sustain and depth than my $500 8 string Kala uke.

Highly recommend this Guilele.

It is perfect (A+++)

Used to own a guitalele from one famous brand and the price were almost double compared to HB. let me tell you my friends, Harley Benton is better guitalele then the previous model i'we owned.

it is so fun to play even if i dont like classic guitars. I like electric and acoustics...

It stays in tune which is mind blown for me. I am a big guy with big hands but still I can play this. I havent found any flaws, that just blow my mind. I gave 4 stars for the sound cause i dont know how it realy should sound, but it sounds decent to me, but dont expect wonders from this short guitar. It sounds great to me.

Conclusion:

+price

+sound

+stays in tune

+no flaws

What more do you want??

Buy your self one even if you dont need it, keep it in a car, behid your sofa, in the kitchen, anywhere, it is handy.

The thing is, it is my first Harley Benton product and it blew me away. If the other HB products are the same qualiti as this little guy, I am looking forward to buy some of its older brothers (acoustic and electrics) or some other harley Benton gear...

Fun and durable!

Bought this for work (kindergarden) thinking it was fun to play and it looked neat, but this little sucker plays very well and is very durable.

Chose this one because the fretboard was wider than the others, considering my massive hands. Very welcome at parties.

It has taken a couple of hits and it still tunes up and plays at it should.

Feels sturdy, and the sound is great.

Should mention that tuning it feels weird at first, but its a scaled down guitar. Fine tuning it will require this smallest of turns.

I have it all the time with me. It sounds good. The finish is not so great but it's really a nice item to have.

Very worthy budget instrument

This is the second Harley Benton GL-2NT I have purchased. I have been very satisfied with both. They're nicely made, attractively finished, budget tiny guitars. Laminated construction featuring minimal adornment is handsome in its simplicity. The only adjustment necessary was to file down approximately 2mm from the plastic saddle to bring action down to a more optimal level. Being very light and small, it still has decent volume and a lively tonal quality.

Being a very small instrument, with a very short scale, it might be tight for players with large hands to manipulate a full six strings. However, the 48mm neck width and string spacing are wider than many comparable 1/8 and 1/4 scale classical guitars, which are more cramped, presumably to accommodate children's hands. The Harley Benton's wider spacing helps adult hands more easily navigate the short scale length.

Though intended to be tuned ADGCEA using common classical guitar strings, I found it can be successfully tuned EADGBE using the inexpensive Pyramid 7String Classical Guitar Set (No. 344 200) sold here, discarding the high E and using the remaining set tuned standard. Doing this makes for a heavier, higher tension set that intonates and projects reasonably. This makes for a *very* portable travel guitar rather than "guitarlele". If that's what you desire, I can highly recommend this instrument.

Great for Travel and Fun, Amazing for the Price

This guitarlele is by far the best quality for instrument that I've ever purchased. It has a clear, bright sound but with good depth of tone and surprising volume.

My wife purchased this to transition from ukulele to guitar, as she has mild arthritis and wanted something easy to play. I am a guitarist, with a dozen guitars, and was amazed at the how good this little guy sounds. It ends up on counters and tables because it is so fun to pick up and play, it goes in the car easily and my wife brings it on any trip longer than 10 minutes to play while we drive.

Pros:

Good sound, great value, easy to play, basically everything. Also a great starter instrument for kids or anyone with smaller or compromised hands.

Cons:

Not much, tiny amount of fret buzz, not noticeable and easily fixed.

We got this as a B-stock and it had a half centimetre nick on one side. It's barely visible and did not affect the instrument at all. I don't know if we just got lucky or if they're all this great.

Travel Guitar

I mainly use this guitarlele for traveling since is very small. You can easily reach most of the frets and sound quality is amazing since is very cheap.

Not a guitar, not a ukulele

I wanted to have a small-sized guitar and tried this one. It's 5 semi-tones higher than a guitar, which was ok at the beginning but I started to play less and less and go back to my full-size guitar. Actually, a 3/4 guitar is better for me as I want to keep the standard tuning (and do not want to change my chord fingering while playing)

Great fun in a small package

I was looking for a small guitar to comfortably travel and play around with anywhere. As an inexperienced guitar player, I specifically looked for a small instrument as close to a regular guitar, to keep things simple.

This guitarlele proved to be just that. I love playing it and it offers exactly the portable fun I was looking for.

Amazing value for money!

Harley Benton Guitarlele

This "novelty" instrument is basically a smaller guitar, tuned as if a regular guitar had a capo on the 5th fret.

The sound is very close to a classical guitar (it has nylon strings), but a little less deep, due to the small size of the body. All in all, the sound is quite pleasing.

This little guitarlele is great to bring when hiking, traveling, camping and also working.

It could even be played while traveling in a van during the journey.

For those who'd like to tune it like a regular guitar:

Tuning it down with its original strings makes them a little "rubbery", but it can still be played well and sound good. Maybe a little fret buzz here and there, but nothing major.

I think it could benefit from higher tension classical guitar strings, if I'll ever try I'll update this review.

Very easily recommended little big intrument.

Learning and playing

A very nice instrument, it has a more opened sound than its Yamaha similar. That is because of its good woods. And dimensions are just fit to 4 year old up to adult. I really recomend it.
