Harley Benton GS-Travel-E LH Mahogany 5-stars Reviews
Do Not Hesitate!
Having read several reviews about the HB GS travel e guitar I decided to take the plunge and order one.
Having played it for a few hours I am absolutely amazed at what HB have achieved here. To be fair I haven’t played a Taylor GS mini on which this is obviously styled but I have had a Taylor acoustic so think I can speak reasonably accurately on the comparison. This little guitar has a fantastic tone for its size and is finished superbly by HB. For £111 this has to be the best value guitar by far I have in my acoustic collection which includes a Martin, Takamine, Yamaha and Lag Hyvibe.
Considering the included electronics and quality gig bag it’s hard to work out how HB have manufactured such a great instrument for this price. The only very slight issue I can find is the scratch plate which has harsher edges than you would expect but really this has no effect on sound or playability. This guitar just feels comfortable as soon as you pick it up and it is hard to put down which is exactly what you want from a guitar.
This would be a great starter guitar but is also ideal for more experienced players who want something to mess about on sitting on the sofa or travelling.
Hope this helps anyone thinking about buying this instrument and worrying about it being too cheap to be true. This is very good quality at a great price!
Small Giant.
This guitar is smaller then the average but plays better and sounds better then most.
Needed a new acoustic so watched a few reviews online and decided to take a punt on the gc e travel from Harley Benton a name I trust as I already own an electric by them which is fantastic.
The gc e travel arrived two days ago and I am well impressed, it is perfect and for the price £115 a no brainer.
I have the left handed version and there is not a negative thing I can say about it, no flaws at all and plays and sounds amazing, it's a really good buy.
Harley benton gs travel E
Harley benton travel electro acoustic,
Nice little chicken picker , good quality,
Brilliant price.
Amazing guitar
such a rich sound out of such a small guitar!
Perfect travel guitar
I owned a Taylor GS Mahogany previously, and let it go without any pain, as to my ear it sounded thin and overpriced. Being honest here I do not hear a very big difference in the tone, projection of the H-B version, and it comes in at about a quarter of the price. This is the guitar that comes with me on weekends away, for air travel to places I know I can't keep a guitar under ideal conditions etc. A definite bargain and a pleasure to play.
First Guitar
This is my first guitar. I found it after a lot of videos recommended this as a good first guitar. it sounds great at the price point. I've gone to a few local shops and for the price range this is unbeatable.
Great value for money
Can't really find fault with this one. I play a guitar for 20 years now, but I am not much of a player, so this guitar really fits my needs.
BEST
The best budget guitar for left handed musicians. Im playing on the street and making videos. Sound is powerful enough. And it has a electronic. I love it.
The lefty loves it!
Bought this as a gift for my lefty sister,
I have the RH version myself, which I absolutely love.
She tells me she plays it all the time and loves it, so,, result!
superb value for money
Great little guitar with a fantastic sound, naturally or electric.
it is now my go to acoustic for all my recordings, which makes it even better because i prefer the sound of this to my Gibson SJ200.
Fantastic
This is my 5th HB.And my second acoustic.Firstly this a loverly looking instrument, the sound is bright, the action and intonation are perfect. The on board tuner and tone controls are useful.A small LED informs when the battery is low,it comes complete with one,a 9v pp3 zinc carbon. This will get you going but recommend you fit a alkaline one as soon as you can.Aso a lead,Allen key for the truss rod.A loverly gig bag is also included. If your a Leftie order ASAP,if you a right,WAIT,till the new model comes out,the lefties is the new model with the tuner and controls. This was delivered in days to the UK double boxed and well packed. clever touch. Also you can put the pick up out of phase. There is a strap button on the body but not on the neck?If you need to use a strap you will need one with a headstock lace,I bought a strap that secured around the headstock and buttoned to a regular strap.A clever feature, when your using the tuner the pick up is muted.Feeds back a lot,but thats common on piezos. This also comes with a cracking gig bag.please note. This does NOT have a belcat AP55 pickup.I think the one now fitted is better, with a onboard tuner.I just love the shape of the headstock. Some simple instructions would be handy.Be interested to see when the new stock arrives.
My first electro acoustic guitar
Hopefully playing small folk venues later this year, fingers crossed.
I have a few guitars, some much more expensive, but none sound any better than my GS-Travel-E. This is a great sounding guitar at a great price. Personally I can find no flaws with it, obviously lots of attention to detail, and beautifully finished. Playability is spot on for me, and I am so pleased that I bought it. Padded gig bag is a nice extra touch.
Great small guitar
This guitar is excellent value for money. Plays well and is of good quality. I intend to use it for local busking and it fits the bill perfectly. It arrived in good time and I was kept in touch with its delivery progress. To update, I have now been busking with it, the depth of sound is big and rich ans it is very easy to carry.
You won't be disappointed
A small word of caution, if you have very large hands like me, this might be tough to adjust to, but the quality for the price is almost too good to believe. The gig bag is very nice as well.
A Keeper
What an excellent guitar , fine as it arrived but even better now as I have changed the machine heads to Grover Minis which are more positive . Not essential to do this but I felt the gutar deserved a treat . Highly recommended .
Astonishing guitar
Brilliant. The only slight drawback is plugged in it isn't up to much. But who cares. Apart that, the guitar is fabulous. Better, than it's "Baby" equivalent. And it comes with a decent gig bag. Can't go wrong.
Just the Job!
Looks great, Sounds great.
Very easy to play and needed nothing doing to it straight out of the box.
Not tried plugging it in yet, so cannot comment on that.
Nothing negative to say!
Great value for money and perfect for my son when he is at University.
Stunning
This is the fourth Harley Benton guitar I have ordered (2 for me and 2 for my grandson) and I am always amazed! This is my first acoustic guitar and it is simply stunning. I did allot of research prior to making this purchase. I was looking for something smaller and easier to handle than a dreadnought. The reviews all raved about what big sound that comes out of this little guitar. I am truly amazed by what I am hearing. The only con that I can mention, is that the strings are too high for my comfort. The padded gig bag is also very nice. My grandson is saving up for one now.
True value for your Money
Great sound have paid far more in the past for far less Guitar.
My first Harley Benton
I brought this to have around the house, I haven't picked up any of my other guitars since it arrives!! First action was high, but a few mill of saddle an a quick file in the nut, plus put fresh martin strings on and plays a dream. Lovely dark sound. Not bright an twangy. One complaint, the electrics, when plugged in I have lots of volume on high an low e, an almost no volume d&g string. Plus it sounds like I have a phaser on. If I wasn't a lefty I would have purchased the guitar with no electrics. I have a Fishman that I will put in instead. Over all a great little guitar and if I lose or break would definitely purchase another
