A stunning little guitar.

The Mahogany Harley Benton GS Travel is a stunning little guitar. Tone, resonance and playability is superior to many more expensive guitars... A very well made quality guitar at a very inexpensive price, a real bargain, a treasure and a pleasure to travel with. I've played guitar for over 50 years... This one will go everywhere with me. Thank you.

Impressive

Comfortable to play, the sound is brighter than it shows on that audio at the web store. It is a shorter scale, and it can be a little challenging to fit you fingers above the 12 fret. (I have small hands). It came with very nice .12 bronze strings, but I believe that even with lighter .10 this guitar will scream. Very happy with it, reminds me one I have back home. The belly at the back is in a one piece of wood, with no braces inside, probably responsable for the nice tone this guitar has.

Fantastic guitar for the price

I'm very much a relative beginner (learning for 8 months) and was looking for something that was easy to play on the Sofa and relatively inexpensive. I've been really impressed with the quality of this, it's really easy to pickup and play. I'm tempted to buy another. Been great for learning fingerstyle as well.

Astonishing Value

This guitar's sound great, coupled with the inclusion of a gig bag, is astonishing. Offering remarkable value, it's an ideal spare guitar for travel. Quality is good (enough). I recommend replacing the strings; otherwise, it's an unbeatable choice.

very good and excellent for the price

Even famous brands trend to have issues with entry level instruments, this is not the case here. One might want to improve the fretting finish and obviously change the strings, but out of the box the intonation was surprisingly good.

The sound is on the treble side, pretty bright, a bit zingy but that's exactly what I was looking for. It's not the best acoustic guitar, but it's a good one. I particularly enjoy the shorter scale, and although I'm not a fan of v necks, this one is not too exaggerated so it's fine.

I don't mind the looks, it could be ugly with the same soubd and playability I wouldn't mind, but it turns out that it's quite nice to look at, the headstock looks better in real life than in pictures.

The bag is ok, not just a dust cover, but rather tight. I could use an outside pocket for picks, bar, bottleneck and strings because the front pocket on a gig bag is a bit dangerous to use for thick or heavy items being in front of the table.

Excellent value for the money.

astonishing sound

Got this guitar for my daughter , who just started playing.

As it is now, I find myself playing it more than my other acoustic for 4 times the price.

I find the sound amazing , not just for this price range. very warm and full. Especially open string chords. I guess the mahogany top and rounded back is part of that. The craftsmanship is not bad. I filed the fret ends a bit, but that was it. Good playability. So ,these days, you actually get a musical instrument that speaks to you for 100 bucks...for this price, I can full-hearted recommend. It gets five stars for the sound mainly.

Great for the money!

Bought for my brother as he was starting getting back into playing and loved my Taylor GS Mini.

Whilst not as solid or nice sounding it does an amazing job for the price. And I’m happy to swap when we play together : )

Best beginner acoustic

4 stars quality just because factory 12`s strings which are fitted are too thick and create a "belly" on front of guitar. After adding bone saddle and switching to 10`s strings - this guitar becomes wonderfull to play and sounds 5x the price

What a beauty, and cheap as chips

Ordered this as my second guitar as I want to take it on holiday with me at Christmas. It feels great and sounds great. The action was nicely set-up from the beginning so I've only tuned it and strummed.

Will change the strings shortly but the strings it came with are OK for the moment. Certainly looks the bee's knees

Amazing guitar, Great deal!

This Guitar is amazing I bought it so i could have a travel, backpacking, and couch Guitar not really expecting too much in the way of sound quality but boy was I pleasantly surprised. It plays great and came set up with a great action out of the box. fit and finish were amazing. Comes with a beautiful high quality Gig bag as well. I don't know how they can do it for such a low price. Highly recommend.

Love these

Great guitars & so affordable, I’ve ordered some for my students and use one myself as an example when teaching, they sound great, look great, hold tune, are easy to play and come nicely finished & setup right out of the box. Gig bag is quality too. Usually I’ll change the strings from the stock 12s to a set of 10s for a beginner so their fingers won’t hurt. Could be the best value acoustic out there right now, just buy one!

Value For Money Travel Guitar

I purchased this for use whilst travelling in a camper van. Without any shadow of doubt, this is a great instrument for that purpose. For the price, it is superb! The only negative issue was the fret ends, they were very sharp and needed some filing. I did this which resulted in a far better finish, but still not brilliant. The finishing of the frets needs to be addressed by the manufacturers. Everything else is really good with a very good bag also provided. Recommended if you are considering buying, it's a no brainer!

Small but mighty

I bought this for teaching guitar. I work in primary schools and I needed a travel style axe and flexibility as I cycle to work. Also I wanted a guitar that I wasn't very precious about it, as younger students might like to try their talent with it while I'm out of the room....

I am a lefty and I knew I would have to change a few things to use it. (There was no lefty option available at the time of purchase). First job, I had to the change the mini tuner heads, they just didn't do the guitar any justice. I built a lefty bone nut and re-angled the saddle to mirror the direction for lefty, .The bridge material took the reworking very well..

The bag lasted about 2 years before wear and tear started shredding the straps, I gave it a lot of hardship as I attached other bags around the arm straps, with a heavy sheet binder and sometimes shopping etc. It was a champ......

The tone is lovely and warm, bright, punchy and clear. It has surprisingly good volume, maybe because of the bowled back. the neck profile is very comfortable and I love the scale length. It feels strange to go back to a Takemine.

All round lovely little guitar for any purpose. Sounds nice acoustic and in recordings.

It holds its own in a teaching environment against a couple of dreadnought guitars volume wise.

I give it about 25 hours of playing a week. It is showing no signs of fatigue after over 5 years, frets are still solid and straight, no fingerboard wear.

If anything happened to my present model, I would consider buying the lefty version. Hope this helps.

Great priced Taylor alternative

Bought this on a bit of a whim and not really expecting much. But I must say that I’m surprised by just how good it is.

It’s surprisingly loud for a small guitar and as a lovely tone to it.

It plays really well and gets a lot of use by me. Especially during the summer months when it’s played in the garden.

I thought that the v shaped neck would be a bit uncomfortable but I can’t say that I really notice it after playing for a minute or two.

Also comes with a great quality little gig bag as well.
