Very nice hollow body

This guitar sounds really nice and plays well. Haven't noticed any defects or deformities. Full sound. The ability to split coils is very well done with each pickup split independently. Tone tapers well.

Great guitar for the price

I wanted to try semi-hollow guitar design for a long time and finally settled on this one. Now over a year passed since I bought one and I use it everyday. The only thing that was upgraded was the tuners (set of Kluson MS33C fit perfectly)

Pros:

- Great sound, especially for the budget

- Versatile

Cons:

- Polish cracked a bit in the corners of the neck joint, but it's been a long time since it happened and nothing went wrong structurally

- The knobs are slippery (because of their shape) and it's hard to use coil splitting

Besides these small cons, if you want to try semi-hollow design - this is a great choice! And with some modifications it would be amazing guitar for relatively small price.

Very good guitar!

This is such a good buy. A well designed, well executed guitar with great playability, nice looks and good pickups. It even has a nubone nut that was cut exactly right! Setup was good out of the box, no high frets and all electronics working perfect without any scratching. Apart from a little binding inconsistency along the neck, the guitar is pretty much flawless. The frets were level, but very scratchy and rough when bending. They also left my fingers black after playing, so you need to get some metal polish or fret erasers to get them up to a shine to get rid of the gritty and dirty feeling.

Soundwise the Roswell pickups sound warm and alnico-like, and the guitar has a wonderful sustain. Splitting the coils make the sound volume much lower, but mixing in one humbucker + one split can sound great! Tone control is also good. Tuners were okay (I switched them out for locking, but they worked fine). The bridge and tailpiece are all right, but a little sharp to lean your wrist on. All in all a superb choice for a semi-acoustic guitar (and better than the Ibanez AS53).

Very pleased

Hard to fault this guitar, the cheapest one I have ever bought new.

Outstanding value and playability

I like the guitar, Had to move around some saddles in the bridge and replaced strings. The delivery took more time than first expected.

Just what I expected

Delivered on time to the USA. I couldn't find a flaw. Feels and plays great. Rock solid. Just ordered the RB-600bk.

An awesome affordable guitar

The guitar took way to long to arrive to Mexico, but i love it. The only issues I have found are some file markings on the binding of the fretboard and some glue blobs in the bridge and saddles posts, but with a boxcutter and a lot of fear I was able to remove them, other than minor details the instrument is pretty awesome.

Such a great guitar

Wow. For the price, what a great guitar. I have used this in the studio and it is that good. HB products definitely a force to be reckoned with.

Due to Covid only used at home since purchase, but sounds great at all levels. Finish is superb (a little grit in the frets, but smoothed during use) Also has an Epi Dot Deluxe so can compare easily - just as good if not a little better in the hand than the Dot. Cannot fault, especially at the price.

Totally recommended

Got this guitar just a week ago and i like really liked the sounds i got from it. One thing to know is that is has a fairly noticable feedback effect. Guitar looks beautiful, albeit i would recommend to take that plastic pick guard away as its really ugly. There are minor complaints however.

First is that the fretboard is a lot rougher that i expected, nothing too terrible, can be polished by extensive playing over time. Fret cuts are couldve better as they are evident.

Simply Beautiful

When I started playing (ahem...) 50 odd years ago, you either had an unplayable piece of gear or you sold the families silver. A lot of budget guitars have sprung up over recent years, but this is an absolute beauty on every level. I have heard odd reviewers saying they had minor issues, but the guys who put mine together knew their stuff. All I am going to do is carefully shine up the frets with a drop of crocus paper when I next change the strings. Every other area just shines.

I had to wait a bit longer than I wanted to for delivery, but we live in strange times, so no mark down for that. The Coil tapping feature interested me because I am a Fender man at heart, but popping those buttons down really gives you a Gibson surcharge...

The guitar sits just right in my lap if I play sitting and for a semi hollow it is a decent weight.

You need to stop reading now and get one for your niece, or your nephew, or your babysitter, or your grandad... They will love you forever. Mine is set up with a Blackstar Fly and an extra cab, so the whole package was less than £300... And the Sound? Fab. What? You are still reading? Make music, baby... Best medicine in a troubled world.

Can’t believe this for the money!

I cannot believe I have got hold of a guitar of this quality for under £200, including delivery. The sound, playability and aesthetics are all top notch. Okay, it’s not a 58 Gibson, but that’s the stuff of dreams. The reality is what you've got in your wallet and for the money, you can’t go wrong. I have used it with some virtual amps as well as through a Marshall acoustic amp and it sounds excellent. This is going to be a very useful studio instrument as well as a very durable and versatile live instrument. A very nice guitar that I love playing. You will too. Go on, treat yourself!

Best Buy

I am amazed at the quality of this instrument. I have two other guitars

that were twice the price, secondhand and they are not as good.

All the little problems that I was expecting, through reading many positive reviews, just didn't exist. The frets were nicely polished and the fret ends were smoothed and well finished. The paint work and overall finish on the guitar was excellent. I Tuned the guitar and it sounded better than my other much more expensive instruments.

I then felt I needed to lower the action to my liking which was a simple procedure and I am now very happy with my guitar. The only,

very small , criticism that I can mention, is that one of the volume

control knobs is slightly stiffer than the other, which will be no problem for me. Excellent buy, over the moon.

Tube Snob

Absolute tone beast. No need to modify. Saw a video comparing the Gibson se335 with the 35 Plus so ordered one. Absolute looker. My Vintage Pro Rebverb and Ampeg Reverberocket sing with this animal. Finger board is like an ice skating rink its so smooth and fast.

Great Guitar

Better than my gibsons. I have had 6 gibsons, none of them were worth keeping. Harley Benton plays as good as my real 69 stratocaster and USA PRS, and sounds great ! A keeper !

At this price, why not?

I'm not a guitarist, but I am a professional musician. This is a very good looking, well made instrument. Value for money in spades.
