Best looking guitar

It's a beautiful guitar with a great sound it's the only guitar I use now 😃

I’m playing it more then my fender jazzmaster.. I ain’t saying it is better but it is just as good. Really a huge surprise.

Beautiful guitar for not a lot of money

I have long been looking for a guitar that can fully convey my inner state, characterize me as a musician and allow me to plunge into the vast expanses of musical art. And this guitar definitely exceeded all my expectations: it plays perfectly, despite the lack of locking head machines, and there is good access to the upper frets. You can play both solo parts and rhythm with chords without any problems. I perform with this guitar everywhere: at the Philharmonic, in restaurants, at festivals. It performed well everywhere. Warm, pleasant sound with overdrive + crystal clear sound with humbucker cutoff. A versatile guitar that can play everything.

Amazing Instrument

All right, let’s cut to the chase. I own, and have owned, a LOT of guitars – a LOT, and I’ve played and gigged for over 45 years. So what I’m going to tell you is worth a reading so listen up. I’ve played some expensive stuff and I’ve played some not so expensive stuff and for the most part you can feel and hear a difference between the two. However, keep in mind, you can own either and it can sound great or it can be lousy. Name brands are no indication of a great instrument. Those who buy because it says this or that high end brand name can easily end up with something pretty average. Also, if your skill level is not that of a virtuoso or you’re not gigging for a living, why the hell pay thousands for a guitar that only gets played in your bedroom? Because it “looks” nice? Really?? But I digress.

I decided to renew my love affair with semi-hollow body electrics, BUT on a budget. Guitar reviewers online almost unanimously praised the Harley Benton HB-35. So I pulled the trigger and bought a “HB-35 Plus” in yellow for around $225 (plus shipping). It arrived one week from the day of order. It was very well packaged and when I unboxed it I was surprised at how much better the guitar looks compared to the online photos. But beauty doesn’t make the player. So here is a quick rundown review of what I received:

1. Cosmetics: Flawless finish.

2. Neck: Comfortable

3. Frets: Needed slight polishing, but no sharp edges.

4. Fret Board: smooth but dry – fret board oil took care of it.

5. Knobs: Tone knobs are fine.

6. Tuners: They okay but they have a low turn ratio which makes fine tuning tricky. My personal ratio preference is 19:1 so I will probably swap these out

7. Strings: They’re okay but I always change out new guitar strings anyway

8. Set-up: Again, personal preference, I lowered the action and had to adjust intonation.

9. Pick-ups: The Roswell Alnico 5’s are really nice.

Bottom line: what a great instrument! I really like this guitar and I can honestly say, if you’re looking for a semi-hollow body guitar you would be crazy not to look into the HB-35. You get high end playability, a stunning appearance and you don’t break the bank.

Pretty nice especially compared to the price. The sound of the pickups is a little muddy, and the tuners are not the best - upgrade those and you have a great semi hollow - quality is astounding compared to the price

A Real Winner!

At the price point you simply will not find anything remotely close to it. Smooth frets, great sound, and comfortable neck. It really gives Epiphone a run into terms of quality, and stunning looks at half the price.

There are some small things that aren't perfect but value for money wise i would give it 5 stars all the way

Beautiful guitar

I own 3 Harley Benton guitar's. This is the first one I bought. It is a fantastic value for the money. It plays and sounds great. It looks beautiful. I can get some real nice bluesy tones out of this guitar. I love it.

I play guitar for 20 years, and i just wanted a semi hollow. This guitar exceeded my expectations by far. It's just great, fun, it came totaly set up (octaves, neck,...) just ready to play. And it looks awesome :) I totaly recommend it

Nothing better for the price!

I was really waiting to find something wrong on the guitar because i coulden't believe that for only 245 euros the guitar will look and sound that good. But for the price this guitar is not a bargain is a gift. Don't think about it get one.

My favorite guitar!

I wanted a semi-hollow to add to my collection. At this price I was expecting to have to change all the electronic and hardware. A full custom job. So I had it shipped to my buddy who builds guitars to have him do the work. He called me the day it arrived and said "This thing is perfect out of the box!" Minor fret polishing and tuning, that was it. He didn't believe me when I told him how much I paid for it. I had to show him the website. If you only had one guitar consider this one. It checks so many boxes. The split coils offer so much variety. Also it sounds great when it isn't plugged in and you're just chilling on the couch.

Excellent out of the box

Wanted a guitar similar to the Gibson 335. Was hesitant to order this but am overwhelmed by its looks and playability! Go for it. May need a bit a work or setup, but well worth the $$.

My first Harley Benton , a great guitar!

Just received the guitar yesterday . On time and with no problems ( UK resident ) I did not want to spend a lot of money because is just to play at home . Following the reviews on YouTube I went for the Plus model .

Well it turns out a lot better of any expectation!!!

Unbelievable quality for the price !

I was a little bit worry about the finish and the quality on it at that price, but it is amazingly well done.

I chose a Lemon Drop, and it's so beautiful !! More beautiful than on the pictures.

Perfect finish all over, and it does sound more than OK, you can change some parts if you wish, (pick-ups, nuts,...) but it wont cost you much to have a more than decent guitar because it is very decent to begin with.

I completed the finish on the frets, adjust 1 or 2 64th here and there and it is now a very nice guitar for a incredible price !

So much better than I expected, I love it !

Received it in just over 2 weeks in Canada, because it has to pass by our slowly customs process that took 2 weeks by itself.

Would I recommend to buy one ? no, you need one !
