Harley Benton Custom Line King-CE VS Reviews
Custom king
I bought this with a st swamp ash the swamp ash st was for me the custom line king was for someone else they are not getting this guitar they can order their own im keeping this for myself i bought 2 guitars at the same time to save on shipping now ive got an acoustic as well not a fault anywhere needs a good setup the strings are a little high for my liking but all in all fantastic guitar
Really amazing acoustic, for a good price
I ordered this one for my friend, and since I have never played a Harley Benton before,
I was suprised with the looks of it, and mostly with the sound.
Neck has some weight to it, and that's where the sustain comes from.
Pros:
-Fishman pickup system with built in tuner (very useful)
-Grover tuning keys
- Great setup
- Amazing and loud sound
-Cons:
If I have to put something here, maybe some minor cosmetic flaws around the binding, but who even looks a that.
I would totally recommend this instrument for a begginer,or a gigging musician, or just for playing at home.
Great Value
Had this guitar a couple of weeks. It's very well made, has a great sound and looks great. Anyone thinking of buying one should just do it. I wasn't sure about the make but the HB guitars have great sound and are quality. A bargain at the price.
Another winner
Lovely guitar at a give away price, so much value for your money, I don't know how they do it at this price.
Good guitar
About guitar:
Good guitar with good quality and sound. I'm satisfied.
Flawless
This is my first HB guitar purchase having spent many hours looking at the numerous video reviews most of which are positive so I decided to take the plunge. I was looking for an acoustic guitar with a lower action than the parlour sized S&P I already had and the big brand equivalent of this model had always been on my wish list.
I must say that this guitar is flawless. Perfect finish, great fretwork, good action, great tone both unplugged and through the Fishman pickups. The fact that it comes with D'Addario strings is another positive as even the sub brand of the guitar that this is inspired by comes fitted with lower quality strings on their equivalent model.
I'm over the moon with this guitar and would really like to compare the tone and playability of this side by side with the big brand costing way more.
Highly recommended and a great start to my HB guitar journey!
Absolutely Gorgeous
The guitar is absolutely stunning in person. Build and sound quality are very high considering the price. Very pleased with my purchase.
Very Good!!
Great out of the box!!..minor adjust to play...sound warn & punch..
Well made!! will aged well..
Unbelievable
Well I cant say enough about this guitar, straight out of the box it played like it was an old fitted glove ( its an English expression ) I didn't expect this to be honest so after a little setting up to suite my taste it was even better. I had the pleasure of playing a friends Gibson Jumbo a few months ago and although it does not quite have the ring and full on sound of the Gibson, it didn't disappoint and at this price its just crazy. This is the 5th Harley Benton guitar I have bought in around 6 months and I have been delighted with each one of them, so now I cant wait for the next one to arrive just after the Xmas break....thank you wifey for my present....
Amazing value!
Very Good guitar. Very impressed!
Why spend more?
9.5 out of 10
Everything is perfect except for the dodgy tuner and that horrible pick guard, which i removed instantly.Sounds awesome plays great.comes with high action and needs trussrod love plus 50 gauge is too thick for that quality of nut,it was tough to barre on high E and B strings so either tune down like i do (to C standard) or put lighter gauge strings.NO flaws on mine very impressed
Nice Custom Line King
Excellent guitar for the money. I am lucky I got a good Harley Benton on this pull. My other two (both electrics) were not as good quality/play-ability wise.
Bought this on behalf of a friend who asked me to find him a decent budget guitar; after trawling eBay for a bit I decided I might just as well buy new. This is a good-looking guitar with nicely-done 'burst and binding; it's let down visually by the cheap-looking bridge inlays, and a scratchplate that was clearly stuck on in a hurry! I took it off and the guitar looks fine without it.
Action was high out of the box, but playability was surprisingly good; I took the bridge down a little and tweaked the truss rod, and although it's still on the high side for my taste (I mainly play electric) it's perfectly usable. Some work on the nut would no doubt improve it further. Sonically it's bright and bold, and I imagine it would record nicely. I'm not a fan of under-saddle pickups but the supplied Fishman unit is a simple, good-sounding system and is all you need for live amplification. At £140 I'd say this guitar is excellent value for money.
Not really a King
Just received this Harley-Benton and unfortunately the first thing I noticed was the scratch-plate was not fully stuck down, not a good beginning. Looks pretty good and actually matches the advert pictures. Sound is not too bad, a 195 Euro / £140 sound so cannot complain about price. Quite heavy in weight if one is planning to perform with it on stage but if you are, I would go for something different.
All in all, probably worth the asking price but for me , this will be my last Harley Benton purchase," NON-STICK" scratch-plate and all.
Good value guitar for practice.
This guitar needed setting up in order for me to really get to grips with it but once set up, I enjoyed playing it. Reasonable quality, good value for money and a nice tone!
Excellent value!
A truly stunning looking guitar, even better up close than in the photos.
At sessions this guitar certainly cut's through and never gets lost in the mix like some other acoustics I have played. The bass notes are clear, warm and yet still booming. The treble however is a little weak and I found myself staying away from anything after the 5th fret. Now for this guitar that is not really a major issue, for it's price and type all I was expecting was a guitar for playing at informal sessions where chording and a little fingerstyle was all that was required. For that it's sound is perfect.
HOWEVER, this guitar has one major problem. The neck is almost unplayable for more than 30 to 60 minutes in one go. I have been playing for almost 20 years and never before found a neck that caused me to cramp up so quickly. The dimension of the neck at the nut is for me totally crippling. While I can play it the guitar sounds nice. The machine heads work like a dream, the electrics are wonderful. Though an amp this guitar really sounds fantastic especially playing country but I just cannot play it for very long. I have to split my playing between this and my other acoustic just to get around this issue. It's such a shame that a little more time was not taken on the neck, as the root of a wonderful guitar, worth it's place in anyone's collection is there. If more time was taken fixing that neck.
