HB 10 G Combo Amp

I use this HB 10 G Combo Amp mainly in my house and I am very pleased about it. Mostly I like the options available on it, the fact that it has a port for headphones but also a port for connecting an iPod or phone or an MP3 player.

The sound that comes from it is quite clean, it has some buzz but only at the highest gain level which not too many, I think, will use.

The HB 10 G Combo Amp is built really good and can take some ruff handling, in case it is somehow necessary. I traveled with it a lot and never had any issues even if unfortunately was bumped to surfaces sometimes.

The weight it's just 4.2 kg or 9.2 pounds and even though it seems to have a bit of weight, the weight is distributed in such a way that it is really easy to be handled by hand from one place to another.

Pros: The sound is so diverse using all the modes on the HB 10 G Combo Amp

The weight, being distributed nicely

The great variety of options available, to turn almost any sound you want on it (for a beginner)

The sturdiness being such a small, yet full of options Amp.

The Cons: Not enough options to change the sound and tone for a Pro guitar player.

Buzzing when the Amp Gain dial is turned at it's maximum level.

Overall I really like this Amp and I recommend it to any guitar beginner that I am sure will use this Amp, until will learn to play the guitar almost a t a Pro level.

I didn't try too much the MP3 function too much, but until now I have been really amazed of the possibility to use this function on such a cheap Amp and it all works great.

Great Price

A Great amp at a great price with a very big sound, bought this for my son who recently took up playing the guitar, and it looks great, fantastic for any beginner looking for a amp to start off with.

Bad for metal

The overdrive is horrible and sounds pretty bad with any settings. It doesn't matter if you listen to it from the speaker or from headphones, it's muddy, undefined and noisy. So, whatever you do, do not get this for metal.

The clean channel is very nice, though. With an appropriate pedal, this amp could do a lot for the price.

Great wee practice amp

Got this amp as part of a guitar starter package, and it is great. I bought the guitar starter kit for my son and he was immediately able to use this amp straight away. Has all the usual dials, volume, bass, middle and treble, guitar in and headphone socket, as well as an MP3/aux in for playing along to music etc. There is also an overdrive button, which when pressed will give a decent distortion. The sound out of this amp is great for the size, remember it is an entry level amp and will certainly help the new guitarist learn and master the guitar before moving onto a bigger amp. Perfect amp for practice in a bedroom, can get loud, but will distort the speaker, for example anything passed 12 o'clock on the dial.

Great clean and with drive pedals.

Quality is ok, drive sound is useable, but not great, pots are still, however, the clen sound is, well, actually superb, I mean really good,, but dont fear metal heads, it takes pedals really well, but this and TC darkmatter, if you want budget practice for rock or this with an EHX metal muff for budget bedroom metalers , you cant go wrong. I have 3 tube amps, and have owned many practice amps (inc Park, Rocktekk, Orange, Laney) this has the best clean out of all of my former practice amps, takes pedals better, on board drive is the only poor aspect but at this price get a good drive pedal and your set practice wise and will still spend less than abig name and with a good drive will sound better. Although amp drive is ok it coukd be better , but I have rated sound 5star to reflect the excellent clean and pedal handling. bargain

Perfect for it's cost

Starting with a drawback - overdrive feature is as good as non existent, sound quality on it is bad and better not used at all.

Not if someone read till the here - probobly best AMP for such price. Clean sound is really good and whit headphones makes a good practice tool.

You will not regret it, and in case you need overdrive go for extra pedal :)

Fine beginners amp

There's nothing wrong with this amp for the money and it's perfect if you're looking for something that just increases the volume for practice. I found it very hard to get a metal / grunge sound even on the overdrive but with some fiddling and max volume on the amp you can get there ( turn down the guitar )

Overall I'd recommend this to anyone starting out as a fine purchase to get started

Great for the money

Its an entry level 10 watt practice amp for not much dollar.

Bought it for a friend of mine for his birthday. Surprised at the quality of sound. I thought it would be really tinny and buzzy but was I wrong. Speaker design continues to get better and from years ago if you played through a small speaker it would have no tonal quality at all. Not like that with this unit, more than capable of holding its own at a small practice session or great for using at home.

Gain channel can get some good sound too. Unfortunately there is no pedal switch but you are not going to gig with this amp anyway. It has input for mp3 player and output for headphones. A good little amp that wont take up half the room.

This combo is suitable for beginners.

This combo is suitable for beginners.

I bought this amp to experiment with sound, and wanted to get acquainted with the combo from Harley Benton.

Excellent sound for its price, did not expect it would be so loud and powerful. But his overdrive he is not very good, it is not even overdrive, and full of wheeze, so it is best to use the pedals. For example with my tube distortion pedal it sounds amazing. Also, it sounds good with my transistor pedal distortion. It seems that this amp is worth a good speaker. But if you twist the volume knob is more than half, they begin to clog the low frequencies. By the way, the equalizer on this amp is quite flexible. Allows for different sound.

Good started amp

This amp was great for the price. Sounds are pretty decent for a beginner.(I purchased this for a 12 year old). The distortion channel surprised me, it sounded quite nice.

He 10g

Received as part of a guitar package for my daughter. Firstly, looks great. Handle is solid, tolex applied well. Sounds great, I didn't expect such a cheap amp to sound good, but for bedroom Rock stars this is a great wee amp. Eq responds well and the overdrive is nice too. Recommended.

Light, solid, good sound

The amp itself is small and easily transportable. It feels solid despite being light and also includes a removable grip on top of the amplifier to make transportation easier.

Feature-wise, it has two modes: clean and overdrive, basic onboard knobs for Bass, Middle and Treble as well as Volume and a Gain knobs. Unlike HB-20G the volume control on this one doubles as the volume control for the overdrive too.

The clean channel is really nice and suitable for "bluesy" sound. By setting the gain and playing around with the various settings you can produce a wide range of distorted sounds within the limits the solid-state nature of the amplifier permits. If you intend to use it with a multi-effect try the clean channel first and let the effect do your distortion for you.

Beginners: make no mistake, this amp is LOUD. 10 Watts is more than enough for a practice amp and possibly way more than necessary when living in an apartment. The headphone-out port on this model is ideal for practicing at night and makes a really good combination with wireless headphones.

Worth Money - Begginer's option

Great choice for a begginer who just started playing guitar . The price is very good as the product is what was meant exactly to be . Strong build , fair good volumes ! The only "negative" point is the lack of very in depth equalizer but as I already said the money are totally worth for a begginer .

Brilliant

Brilliant little Amp. For it's size and price you can't go wrong. Everything works. One of the great features about it is that you can plug an MP3 player in and play along. Headfone socket stops the parents moaning about the noise.

Bought as a gift

Got this as part of a package with hb strat. Ideal for a bedroom or office practice, very compact. Has overdrive effect and is louder than expected. Only downside is that it came with euro 2 pin plug on a captive lead, so needed adapter.

Unbelievable quality for the price!

Great little amp, at this price point you can't really fault it. I bought one for my 6 year old as is learning electric guitar. It's louder than expected and the clean channel is good. The overdrive distortion is scratchy at best but again look at the price!!!!
