Harley Benton D-120CE-LH BK Reviews
The Product is very good
The product arrived about 10 days after order, and it is super for the money really love it.
I love it
The guitar is amazing. It feels nice, sounds nice and overall it's pretty great and affordable too. My only complaint is that the strings (specifically the thinner ones) feel a little hard to press down. I was used to the softer feeling of nylon strings, and switching to steel strings made the thinner strings harder to press down, but I'm sure I'll get used to it with time and use. If you're looking for a left-handed acoustic guitar with a good sound, this guitar will not disappoint.
good value
This is my first acoustic.played well out of the box well packed.A few days delivery from Germany, amazing.Opening the battery hatch was challenging, but once open reveiled a very nasty
Zinc battery.Bin it and fit a Alkaline. A picky little gripe I know. But a loverly axe. Also included are 2 adhesive scratch plates black and tortoise.Very loud.Sounds good through my Fender Champion 40,the graphic equalizer is very effective.I had found that it gos out of tune when you first take it out of its bag.An easy fix.The action is high on the high frets.Just a up date.just sold this guitar on for what I though was a better one.i regret it.i miss it.
Needed work, but...
First of all, I bought this because I actually wanted an acoustic steel strung guitar with a cut-away, and wasn't fussy about the electronic pick-up. I have to say, for the price, the guitar (as per every Harley Benton I have bought) is a beautiful piece of kit to look at; the finish is lovely, the guitar feels solid, the machine heads are pretty good and hold tuning, and the frets aren't too bad. The problem (as another reviewer pointed out) was the height of the action. It was, quite frankly, unplayable. I always set my guitars up after purchasing, but in this case I had no choice but to take the strings off and plane then sand 3mm off the wooden bridge plate - something many wouldn't be brave enough to do. I also lowered the grooves in the nut and cut down the bridge height (note here that the bridge and nut were of a soft, cheap plastic material).
The guitar now plays pretty well, and I'm quit pleased with it. Again, I cannot over-emphasise what a lovely-looking guitar this is. It looks far more expensive (again, typical of Harley Bentons). It's a pity the far-too-high action let the build quality down. Still, for the price, if you are prepared to do a little work, you'll have a very fine instrument indeed.
Awesome sounding guitar that beats the triple priced Fenders
I wanted to buy a cheaper acustic guitar guitar to play songs to my newborn son.
My mother just bought a similar looking used Fender for twice the HB's price. But I have to say, this Harley Benton sounds so much better!
It has all the lows and highs in the sound. Sounds super clear. I bought a set of Earnie Ball Earthwood strings, and they work well together.
The built-in tuner is nice, but I just use my phone usually.
The strange thing is that the battery died. I had the guitar for half a year, and only used it plugged in just to test it.
Pros:
- Sounds really great
- Light
- The neck is comfortable
- Tuners are great
Cons:
- Dead battery without use
- Some fret buzz. I hope it can be fixed with some neck adjustment
Great value
Sounds great straight out of the box. Really nice straight neck. When I get round to it ,I'll lower the nut and saddle to bring the action more in line with how I like it, but all considered at this price, it's a 'no-brainer' ! .
Lovely guitar for reasonable price
Fabulous starter instrument - difficult to source left handed guitar for a child at reasonable price. This is perfect.
Budget guitar.
Without being spectacular, this is a great little guitar for the money.
Battery life isn't amazing, and playability it's amazing, but it's a lovely little semi-acoustic for the price.
Use it as a backup guitar, but has never let me down when called upon.
Good sounding acoustic guitar
I play guitar 5 years now , and i never had my own acoustic guitar , so i decided to get this one , since it is cheap , and comments on internet about it were good .
The shipping was fast and well packed . Guitar is in great condition . I was surprised how good it was built . It's sounding warm and pleasant to my ears when unplugged , and after it is plugged , it's sounding awesome too :)
The only problem that I had with it small intonation problem on fourth (D) and sixth (E) string , but there' nothing that small file can't fix , so after filing for minute or two , i managed to get perfect intonation , and now guitar sounds awesome .
I would recommend it to all new guitar players or ones that want acoustic guitar .
Love it :)
perfect for the money
very nice sound and quality
guitar left handed
satisfied
Incredible value for money
This guitar was a present for my wife. She has learnt to play guitar right handed, but being left handed hit a bit of a barrier. She wanted to try a lefty but didn't want to spend much money. We were amazed by this guitar when it arrived. The quality is incredible, it sounds good, very good for the price. The finish is superb, has good as any of our instruments, most of which cost more than twice the price. Downside is a slight rattle on a machine head, only on one note played loudly. All round an excellent purchase.
