Harley Benton D-120CE-LH BK Reviews
A Nice Budget Acoustic
This thing was cheap and considering the price it was pretty decent. I've played worse for sure. I bought this as a first full size acoustic for my son. He liked the gloss black finish and it does look pretty smart. It got him started and he played the hell out of it for the first six months but was always going to be seduced by electric. We since sold this on to another student only losing £10 on the deal. Overall, a positive experience for a beginner....it's no Takamine or Taylor, obviously. It's a cheap acoustic but it had a decent tone and sounded very nice. Action was a bit high for my taste but not bad enough to be problematic and my boy never felt uncomfortable with it either. If you want a new, cheap acoustic, that's what you're getting with this model - nothing fancy, nothing earth shattering but it's not a piece of junk either, like so many cheap guitars can be. If you just want to try and mike some nice acoustic noise, it's up to the task. Churlish to complain too much at the price point we're talking here. If your expectations are reasonable you probably won't be disappointed by this entry level model.
Good guitar
For this amount of money, this guitar is great. It is loud, neck is good made.
A nice piece for the pricepoint
Its nicely made, feels much higher quality than the price suggests.
Had it a little over a month and it hasnt let me down yet.
It sounds great with nice warm bass tones, but bright enough at the top end.
Remains in tune after initial tuning well.
Came sufficiently packaged.
I only use it as an acoustic, but liked the idea of of having the option to plug in should I need to.
The pickup isnt great, but as I said that isnt really an issue for me.
Only other little negative was a couple of the frets were quite sharp - but nothing a quick file hasnt fixed.
Overall, I'm very happy, and would recommend to anyone who wants a nice to play acoustic without breaking the bank.
Great value for money!
For the rice, this guitar is excellent. Been heavily playing it for gigs for about a year, so its very durable. Downside is it's tuners tend to loosen up so i need to stretch the strings while tuning it, but that depends on the playing style. The input jack also streched a little bit so there's some noise, but thats fixable. Once again, good value for money, if you are a begginer/intermediate gig musician, look no further.
Really good!
for its price, the build is amazing, the sound is amazing, the features are also perfect, if you're not sold already it also comes with a free battery, this is a must buy for begginers and even professionals!
Fantastic guitar!
I didn't know this brand until one day I tried playing a Harley Benton guitar at a friend's house. I was amazed with the sound quality and the sustain, I became even more amazed when she told me the price. At that moment I knew i had to have one of these guitars, and of course I ended up buying it. I can tell you that I sold my previous Fender guitar to buy this one, and there is just no comparison in terms of sound and sustain, and of course, the price. I totally recomend this guitar! How could I not?
Can't go wrong with this one
I have a great superstrat and I also wanted an acoustic, but nothing to break the bank. Had a classical guitar that I never used, so sold it and bought this HB instead. It's a very pleasant surprise. It's more than all right out of the box, no worries if you don't want to hack it, but a bit of an upgrade bumps up the sound quality considerably. Equalizing, sanding and polishing the frets, changing the saddle inlay to bone (be prepared to make a left handed compensated version), adding better strings / graphite in the nut make a very noticeable difference in the sound / smoothness of tuning / playablility. It doesn't need a lot of work at all, though, it was one afternoon for me and I'm no pro: look around on youtube what people do with this.
low price,good guitar
excellent price/quality ratio..as good for beginner than advanced player
Not Bad!
For what I paid, I think this is a very adequate beginner acoustic for left handed players! The pre-amp is nice and the neck binding looks beautiful. No flaws in the finish, only some minimal fret buzz that could probably be corrected by a set-up. Excellent tuning machines, it stayed in tune for a week.
Excellent acoustic guitar for the price
I was looking for a lefty cheap acoustic guitar with a pickup so to practice, record myself, and do not spend a fortune since I'm a beginner. I'm very satisfied with my choice, the guitar is easy to play, good quality with a warm sound and it is good looking too. Considering the price, buying this guitar it's a no-brainer choice. Highly recommended. Note: I replaced the strings with Daddario EJ10.
Electroacoustic
Very nice budget guitar with warm sound also you can plug it in a amp
Very surprised at quality for price.
Ordered this for my left handed son who is learning. Everything about it is really top quality and beautiful. I've seen lots of guitars for more than this price come no where near it for build and sound quality. Excellent all round, would recommend.. just a pity some.other models like travel GS are not lefty..
nice
This one I order for my girl. She is L hand use ...She so very happy when she got it
Very nice guitar.
Arrived in perfect condition. Action was a little high but sanded the saddle down a bit, and loving it now. Sounds beautiful. Holds tune prrretty good. I’d buy another! Bought it as a combo, with soft case. WHAT A DEAL.
Quality, cheap and amazing
A really good guitar for a decent price, something you wouldn't really expect. If you are looking for an instrument to jam along in your free time, this is a wonderful choice. Pickup comes with a battery, the tuning stability is good, default strings do the job and everything else is up to you. I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for an affordable, yet really good acoustic guitar.
Ridiculously good value
£77 delivered within a week. Lovely looks and tone. Completely happy.
Not good
In a few months I placed this guy aside due to fret buzz and other problems, which I could not easily fix, and in the end wasn't worth looking deeper into.
Cheap but usable
This guitar was for my son. I am also a guitar and piano teacher so I have seen and tried a wide range of cheap guitars. This one while not great as a guitar is good for the price.
The frets are a bit rough on the edges, the neck isn't very thin and the fretboard is a bit dry. The sound however is pretty good and better in my opinion than guitars that I have come across at twice the price.
So for a beginners guitar it is really good and I wish I had it when I was starting instead of the plank that I had to use to get going
Got it for holidays
Picked up this Guitar for bringing on Holiday. Can't fault it, does what it was designed to do and perfect for knocking out a few tunes in the evening.
Excellent beginner's guitar
I got this as a replacement for a classical guitar I had to leave in another country. I replaced the strings with some silk-steel. I've been using it daily for about 5 months and had no problems whatsoever. Only niggle is a minor buzz on the D string but I barely notice it and it would be easily fixed. I haven't tried out the pickups yet so can't comment on Overall, highly recommend. A very good guitar for a very good price.
