Harley Benton D-200CE-12BK Reviews
Very good
Very well made guitar, looks and sounds great and a great price
Excellent sound, good value for money
I found this guitar fully loaded with features - cutaway, pickup with eq, and the sound of this 12-string is awesome. Definitely recommend this for its sound & price - great value.
Wow!!!!!!!
I thought to myself…..what if I don’t get that 12 string and it turns out to be a great guitar that I ought to have bought.
So I got one and guess what?
It’s amazing, my go to guitar now. Sound is incredible, rich and full. It has a built in pickup and equaliser so I can easily plug in and play. Beats my Fender 12 string (which is also a fine guitar).
So pleased I bought this guitar.
WOW
I bought a 12 string recordings kings for $329 and it was total garbage .. my guitar tech who worked for neil young wouldn't even touch it. I got this instead. It plays really well, the tone is even and smooth. It stays in tune well which can be a big deal with 12 strings.
For the money its shocking how good it is.
The best you can buy!
This is the best budget 12 string on the market. It’s gotten me through many shows. Love it!
It's OK... I'd get a slightly more expensive one
Overall, I'm happy with this guitar, but there are a few things worth noting.
First off, I have to say that the build quality is just ok. The guitar feels nice and sturdy, and the finish looks great. But it does have some components issues which are easy to fix. I appreciate that it comes with a built-in pickup, which makes it really convenient for playing live.
I did notice that the strings are a little bit farther apart from each other than I'm used to. It took a bit of getting used to (I already played 12 strings, I'm not comparing it to a regular 6 string), but it's not a dealbreaker by any means. Additionally, I found that the sound is a bit thinner than I expected, especially when playing low on the neck. However, this isn't a huge issue, and the guitar still sounds enjoyable, particularly when tuned down to Eb.
I think that the Harley Benton D-200CE-12BK is a good value for the price. While it's not perfect, it's an ok option for anyone looking for a 12-string acoustic-electric guitar that won't break the bank. I'd recommend splurging a little more and getting one of the nicer ones that HB offers, even for those looking for an entry-level 12-string guitar.
You get what you pay for
Very honest instrument, given the price. Sound is surprising good. Needs definitely setup, very hard on hands. I am an experienced guitar player, and i am in pain xD . One huge complain. The fretboard was rough as hell. It was like they forgot toy finish it. I had to use lemonoil and sandpaper, one fret after the other, to reach a decent result. Dunno if it was as supposed to be or they forgot to finish. Still, it was a slight disappointement. Nevertheless, it is a beauty and delivers more than the price promises.
Best 12 string ive had
Is excellent in sound, quality, and features. I would buy more in the future.
Amazing for the price
As standard as it gets. Build quality is fairly cheap but expected. It’s sturdy and strong. Amazing sound with right strings. I have Ernie ball electric strings on it and it is amazing and easy to play.
Bang for your buck
Far from the best sounding 12 string, but it's REALLY hard to complain at this price. Great options for people who just want to try a 12 string for the first time or to have one handy to use once in a while.
Sounds great in a recording!
Well done
I did not expect such a full sound in this price category. Absolutely sufficient for normal playing.
Great 12-string acoustic for the price!
I was really curious about Harley Benton guitars and wanting a 12 strings for too much time, I decided to give it a try. For the money spent, I got a great acoustic guitar with preamp included. I really like the sound and it's really conformable to play. If you need/want a 12 strings without bleeding from your bank account, this is the perfect choice!
Very good guitar after a little work!
Everything was really good on the guitar the finish is spot on and its really good quality instrument!! To the cons the action was really high i had to remove tha saddle and sand it down 1-2 mm and now its very playable! Also the nut is not cut correctly and the strings slipping out of the grooves!! I ordered a tusq nut to replace it since this is a plastic nut! 10 euros extra and 10 minutes of work it will be an excellent guitar
Great 12 string
I fancied a 12 string for my collection, and was pleasantly surprised by this one. Cheap, good quality and sounds amazing. Just needed a tune up on arrival and played straight from the box.
Sounds good solid
Sounds great stock strings are bad but once changed I love it nice tone i ínstaled a bridge doctor as precaución but no issues it would’ve held up with out it
Sounds great
Always wanted a 12 string acoustic, very nice quality, sounds and plays great, only problem I had was it kept breaking strings, due to a bur on the tuning post, the high octave G and the high E were culprit…
It's worth the price, but not more than 100. It has a very good sound.
I don't like to play Acoustic guitars with amps, so I really like the body shape, that it creates a powerful sound.
I would buy it again.
Not sure if I'll keep this one or not
I bought this guitar as sort of an add-on to another HB I ordered.
I'm not sure if this problem was weather-related or not, but the strings were wound VERY tightly. When I started to tune the guitar, the high G snapped as soon as I started to turn the tuning knob, so now I need to order strings. Also, this guitar has a lot of headstock "dive", meaning it wants to droop forward. The body is way light for such a huge headstock. Maybe this is a thing with 12-strings, but I didn't notice it the last time I played one.
When I removed the broken string, I noticed that this guitar has the rattly tuners that my HB 35 had (which I replaced) but I'm not sure I want to spring for 12 new tuning machines.
I also noticed a couple of blems in the finish. One at the top of the headstock, and one in the sound hole. They're not B-stock bad, so I can ignore them.
So, my third HB and my first non-great one. Hopefully a fluke.
D-200CE
Really nice guitar for the money
Love this guitar
I had to wait a long time for this giant killer to arrive.
One can play this hard without worrying about it falling to bits.
