Amazing Bass.

An overall amazing bass, the sound and feel of this bass is the best out of any acoustic bass ive ever played. The look is slick and a certain conversation starter. EQ works well, sounds great plugged in. Loud enough to be heard in a small acoustic band. General great bass for the price!

Best buget bass ive used

I got a loan of my freinds one and it was so good i actually bought this. The tone and playability is right up there with my ibanez and fender "must be the mahogany neck" not to mention the comfort of it whilst sitting, the Roundback with cutaway is so comfortable for me. My freind gave me his one to setup for him but there was little needing done...very suprising for the price. Plugged in to my A100 amp its supprising how good onboard eq is. Tuner works great too i checked it with my Boss TU-3. really great not just for a beginner bass, just cant beat the price for quality and tone.

An impressive surprise

For a budget model, it sounds remarkably nice.

It resonates easily, it's lightweight yet it doesn't feel cheap. Recommended.

Awesome, this is a really outstanding entry point acoustic bass.

It does exactly what its supposed to and does it well. Accidentally brought two and there are some minor differences in build quality around the 'sound holes'; both were rough and one hole on one guitar had a little nick but seriously for the money... its not like something that makes a difference or isn't easily fixed. One arrived in tune like it had been tested the other had never been tuned probably so maybe a quality control issue I would never have known existed if I hadn't brought two. Both outer boxes were damaged, one had a hole right through it and out the other side - thankfully not where the bass was, maybe consider using a more delicate parcel service?

When you don't want the noise

I wanted some campsite music without having the need to plug in. Having said that, I bought this bad boy acoustic bass and could not be happier! Overall build quality is very good. I may replace the tuners a little later as I believe this is the weakest part about the guitar. It doesn't stay in tune after a few hours of play, but not a deal breaker. The guitar is very resonant, almost boomy when plugged into my Fender Rumble 100 amp. Not a bad thing, just an observation. If anything happened to my guitar I would definitely buy another without hesitation. The value is unsurpassed!

The tuners are of bad quality, E string tuner broke the first day.

Very high action on string set up.

Great Bass

Great Amazing Bass For The Price Point

the tuner's are however complete and utter garbage

here's a better idea harley benton

ur guitars and bass's are a great upgrade platform value

how about u keep the junk pot metal tuners next time and just discount the bass accordingly,i think u would be suprised how many orders you would get for guitars without tuners, pickups, or even bridges because players tend to swap these components out regardless and we're just filling up landfills with poor quality pot metal hardware that shouldn't be wasted in the first place

maybe offer 1 or 2 models to guage the interest

but offer them finished but without the low quality electronics/tuners

allowing the customer to add there own

however make stipulations where customer's can't modify the tuner peg hole's stuff like that for your return etc

or make the product non returnable

but offer one strat or single cut style guitar but without the low quality stuff loaded and have that also be reflected in the price of the product and i think you would be suprised

it would be like opening up a harley benton custom shop

but on a reasonably priced scale

so long story short the stock tuner's are about to go in the trash in canada

had to replace them with Profile tuners, bass plays amazingly well after i oiled the fretboard and it's time to slappa da bass

Great for amateurs!

I play music as a hobby so it works perfect for me. I don't know if it would be a good option on a professional basis :)

Not a bad place to start

It's a beautiful looking instrument!

It plays okay, some fun buzzy noises on various frets. Anything around the 12th fret sounds a little tinny. Decent tone for the price.

If you're looking for a place to start, it isn't bad. You could learn a few things and save on the cost of an amp upfront.

I picked this up as something to have in the car for the odd impromptu acoustic jams and it's been decent for that.

Tuner and pick up are nice to have, wouldn't want to be relying on the tuner too much, however.

When I've gone into my amp, in fairness, it sounds pretty epic and much better than I expected.

Some EQ settings on there too which is kinda cool I suppose, can't say I've used em.

Acoustic Bass

Fancied an acoustic bass, and the Harley Benton HBO-850 looks great.

Fit and Finish on arrival was good

Fitted with some Flatwound Strings for the warm n woody sound like an upright .... Real Nice Tone

Good quality for the price.

Great acoustic bass, feels and sounds nice. The finish very good and only had to tweak the truss rod to combat a bit of fret buzz, now spot on, action good and intonation perfect. Tuner works ok and eq is good. Amazing bass for the money, playing along side bongos and mandolin jams and sounds great.

A very good option for beginners

For the price range, I can say that it was a great surprise.

When I tried it for the first time, I has some buzz on the 5th and 6th fret for the 2nd and 3rd string. After adjusting the truss rod I got it working just fine.

The wood overlay over the body was quite rough, so I used a very thin sand paper to smoothen it out, and the result was just fantastic. Now it is so smooth that many times I am using the holes to rest my thumb while I play.

The tuner doesn’t work that well, but since I use my phone to tune the bass, I do not find that a negative point, but I do understand that it may be a problem for some people.

The inlays on the neck are just beautiful.

The sound of the bass is great and after you get used to the round body back, it feels very comfortable.

For a beginners bass, I would never give more than 4 stars, and I can tell you that this bass goes up to the max. If I hadn’t fix the buzz by adjusting the truss rod It would be 3 star bass; and by sanding that body overlay gave the finishing of the bass a near 5 star.

Overall, and if you are just looking for a bass to start, I do recommend it.

Okay bass for beginners

It's okay for the money you pay. Nothing exceptional.

Amazing, i love it and it's awesome for the price it has. The only bad thing is the piezo mic that has a bit too few bass frequency but it's still enjoyable

This bass is perfect if you are looking for basic acoustic capabilities and an entry level instrument.

The sound is somehow muffled and not as clear on all frequencies as i was expecting, the built-in tuner often doesn't "get" the E and A string when played (it does get the harmonic on the 12th fret though), and can't be played with an amp from average volumes upwards due to the hollow body being a trap for feedback.

Then again, for the price this is a good acoustic instrument that can serve as a marvelous starting point.

Perfect for beginners and for some basic rig-less playing, sort of limiting for anything beyond.

Unbeatable for it's price

Needed a bass to travel with and got this one. I wasn't expecting such a great bass for the price I paid for. I love this bass and really enjoyed playing it for the past 5 weeks whilst traveling. I will definitely spend more time playing this bass as I have another 2 Fender electric basses.
