Harley Benton HBO-850 Blue Reviews
Harley Benton HBO-850 Blue
Pros
Basically it would be a good guitar. The acoustical sound is great, the neck is like an electric guitar's neck: quite comfortable and fast. The pickup is very good, the guitar has an amazing sound via my Peavy Audition 7W combo amplifier or in my DAW software, direct via my USB mixer.
Cons
The guitar's quality is quite bad. The first thing what has dropped off was one of the "leaf ornaments" piece from the front of the body. The frets had sharp edges and I had to polish them. Then, after half a year, the neck twisted, and the guitar became unusable for play solos because of the tuning issues over the 11th fret. So, now, I can use it only for playing some chords around the 1-4th frets. It is very disappointing because, anyway, it has amazing sound both acoustically and via its pickup.
Это отличная гитара и для новичков и для профессионалов!!! Я очень доволен качеством продукта и сервисом магазина! Вы можете посмотреть обзор на моём канале: https://youtu.be/cmh8d8xKJ6E
Harley Benton HBO-850 Blue
great guitar for the price, sounds and plays well, action is a little high but other than that a great guitar for the price.
Insane quality for the price
It honestly plays like a higher quality guitar. It doesn't feel cheap at all and the sound quality even without an amp is kind of impressive. Love it.

Good enough for the price
Good enough for the price
Buy this. Put a set of Elixir 10s on it - you'll never put it down.
I played it a month before posting this review. Finish - very good. Action - out of the box very good, a fret polish (10 minute job) helped. Sound - acoustic is balanced with decent sustain, electric needs to be carefully adjusted via the good onboard controls (Spark40 and Marshall tested) but that's the same with any electroacoustic. Value - unbeatable. Any guitarist, any style, needs this as a sofa friend. ** Update after string change to Elixir 10s - the best hundred quid you can spend.
Good value for money
Arrived today, this is not my first Harley Benton guitar but is my first electro acoustic from the range. First impressions were really good the guitar looked great. Started tuning to find that i had muted strings and fret buzz, not an issue as you get provided an allen key to adjust the rod and adjust the neck. Two minutes later nad the buzz and muted string issue is dealt with. This is the first time ive had to deal with that on a harley benton guitar sono probs. Once all tuned i was suprised to find a 9vlot battery provided, nice suprise. Plugged it in and happy with the tone. So why not 5 stars, well on the body where the neck meets the body i have small cracked finish due to neck movement, possibly from tension in the next but either way the finish is now not great. As this is for use in my home recording and not for show im ok with it, if it was for display on a wall etc i would have returned it as its not great to have the finish cracked on the first day of the guitar.
Amazing guitar. Such a clear sound one of the most beautiful I have ever seen!
Great guitar
I am very pleased with my HBO-850. I had none of the dirtiness that others have mentioned. The frets are scratchy and need polishing and I will do that myself soon. I found no flaws in the finish on this one and it sounds great both acoustically and electrically. There is some wood missing from the fretboard surface at the highest three frets, a kind of gouge in the timber which shouldn't have passed inspection, but I'm unlikely ever to reach those. Hard to fault at this price.
I can't believe how much I enjoy playing this guitar
I added this guitar to my order as an afterthought. I needed an acoustic guitar with a pickup for those occasional "acoustic" gigs with amplification. Our band had recently played a gig where miscommunication resulted in our having to mic our guitars, and I thought this might be an economical way to deal with this. I had ordered a blue guitar for my son, and I added this during the wait for his to be delivered. I am really happy. The guitar looks amazing and plays beautifully. The only criticisms I have are that the tuning mechanisms could be a little better; and it is so new, that I can smell the glue from the body. That being said, a good set of locking tuners costs as much as this guitar! The neck is easy to play, and the action is amenable to leads in the higher neck positions. The frets were in need of a rub down with my polishing cloth, but that's all that was required. I really enjoy playing this guitar, and it has become my "go to" acoustic guitar. If you need a guitar like this, just order it and use the savings to buy it a hard shell case like I did.
Beautiful Guitar
All i can say is man. This is a very nice guitar. Sounds great and looks amazing. Got this to go next to my 30 year old Ovation and to have something to play on and not worry about something happening to the other.
Excellent guitar!!
This guitar is absolutely awesome considering the cost. The entire finish of the instrument is of superb quality, including the paintwork, the fretboard and the furnishings. It played straight out of the box, and has a sound quality equal to a guitar costing many hundreds of pounds. I am absolutely estatic with regard to this fine purchase ... well done Harley Benton.
Great guitar for that money.
Amazing guitar
I love this guitar, the way it looks, the way it sounds, everything about it is nice, I only replaced the strings that it came with and the action and intonation were great when it arrived.
totally brilliant choice for the money
I use this guitar for home playing and its sounds and looks like 99% of Ovation CE48.
Pros:
Guitar has excellent acoustic sound, significantly more complex and expressive than more expensive Ibanezes and Fenders.
Cons:
There are some minority rebukes of finishing, if you use magnifier or have a quick eye. But remember the price of this guitar!
Guitar has good build quality, great sound, cheap price and nice look.
A fine guitar!
These guitars are an excellent value. The neck plays very nicely. The sound quality is great if you replace the strings with something you like. The pickup works well, but for a good acoustic sound, I record it with a microphone. It is lightweight and has a beautiful finish.
very impressed
im not much of an acoustic player but need one for home practice so thought id give it a shot
guitar sounds pretty good to me and its feels extremely comfortable to play. build is nice the set up was good. and you cant really argue with the price

Cons:

Wonderful guitar.
This is a wonderful guitar. It has slight blemishes- nothing major. Upgraded it with Elixir Nanoweb bronze light strings. Sounds and feels great.
Lovely beginner guitar
Bought this for my partner as she wanted to learn guitar and she absolutely loved it. Beautiful colour and looks with an even better sound.
Good action, not too high or too low which was my main worry for a beginner as my first acoustic had incredibly high action and I hated it.
The round back is a brilliant feature and makes it incredibly nice to play standing up.
For the price, this is a brilliant guitar for a beginner or intermediate, or anyone who wants a light guitar to move around with!
Quickly became my favorite guitar
I am a beginner level player and would not waste my money buying an expensive guitar that I cannot play any better than a mid-level guitar. The sound, comfort, and easy to play fret board make this my new favorite guitar over a Yamaha and Alvarez. Too early to tell how it will last, but first impressions suggest this guitar will last as long as I treat it well. The color looks beautiful, it stays in tune, the sound is bright enough, slight string buzzing but my fingers could be the cause, super comfortable to play for an hour or more. Great value from Harvey Benton.
