People don’t believe me when I say how little I payed for this guitar, I have had this a while now and done some improvements, locking tuners and iron gear pickups and a coil split tone control, I still haven’t spent much and this guitar sounds and plays like a £700 instrument happy days

Fantastic starter guitar

Fabulous instrument. This electric guitar has been perfect for my son to learn with. Ideal for young beginners. It's excellent quality and ls a fantastic starter guitar.

Perfect Buget Guitar

I bought this guitar as a replacement for a squire strat and I havnt been disapointed .. for the price the TE-40 offers qreat quality, good action straight out of the box, pretty good durability, the only slight comprimise is on the pickups if find them a litte micophonic and a bit dull on the body pick up , I find the best tone is achieved with the pickup toggle switched to center.. overall for the money an excellent buy I still use it as a backup guitar live and occasionally use it if i break a string.. It actually bailed me out for a whole gig recently... recomended for the beginner or as a live spare/backup..

Great guitar even if you don't consider it's price

The guitar looks, feels, plays and sounds so good I find myself playing it over and over.

I bought it because at 100€ and reading the reviews I couldn't go wrong with it but I didn't expect to like the sound so much. I know many people buy it and change the pickups but I really like the sound of the Roswell pickups.

It's a bit rough in the frets and would need to file them on the sides and the tuners are not the best but those are minor issues.

It's now one of my favourite guitars.

Ranks right up there with other expensive Telecasters

Everything about this Tele competes along with other Telecasters I've tried. But what stands out is the sound, overall build, and feel of the guitar when playing. For the price, it can't be beat comparatively speaking. Harley Benton makes affordable, solid, great sounding guitars.

Can't find a fault.

For the money I was very pleased with this guitar. I always wait for a year before posting a review as I need to be accurate in my assessment. All I can say is "Can't find a fault" and it still look great.

Tele on steroids!!!

I absolutley LOVE this guitar!!

The gloss black is flawless. The gold hardware is a beautiful accent and the binding as well. The pick ups are KILLER...it's a Tele on STEROIDS!! It has become one of main players and I have never been a Telecaster guy, but this thing ROCKS!!!!

Great Price Excellent Quality

I was a little scepticle about this guitar until I held it in my hands. The overall quality and just the sheer beauty of this guitar was astounding. I fell in love with it and so did my wallet!

Nice guitar!

At first glance I love the flame neck guitar has, it came with a decent setup and string height. The only negative i find is that it has a neck shim from the factory.

I try to setup the guitar without it but then the guitar is not playable.

So for the 166e is a keeper, perfect to take it to strange places that you don't want to risk harm your pricey guitars.

Mind Blown

Harley Benton did it again! this is my 4th Harley Benton and continue to get high quality guitars for fraction of the price. The TE-40 exceeded my expectations. The only thing I would critique would be the Roswell pick ups, honestly they are not bad but for my style of music I will be replacing so really boils down to preference.

My new favorite guitar!

I've had this guitar for a year and a half now. Honestly, I've owned and played a lot of electric guitars and I've never had one that I enjoyed playing so much, unlike my other guitars it stays out on a stand in my studio and every time I look at it I want to pick it up and play it. It's even satisfying to play unplugged. I'm sure I"ll catch some criticism from players who stand by the big dollar brands but I don't care, I used to be one of those guys too. A couple of things to keep in mind, I'm in the US and because I ordered it during the beginning of Covid it took weeks to get here, so for quite a while the action was really fussy with changing temps and humidity but eventually stabilized and now it's rock solid. Even at its worst it was still great to play but once it settled down I had my guitar guy set it up, it really didn't need much adjustment but he did file the fret ends for me because they were a little rough, but at this price point I expected that. I really like the contoured body because it fits comfortably and my picking arm can move over the body without any annoying edges. I also really like the neck shape and finish, not too polished or sticky, instead very easy to move around.The guitar feels more like an extension of my hands than an instrument. I also thought I'd probably want to replace the Roswell pickups but I've discovered they have a unique sound I really like. You know how you can hear a guitar on a recording and know which kind it is, this one will catch the ear of the listener and make them seek it out. I bought the guitar on a whim, I wasn't expecting to find my long lost friend in it!

Great guitar for the cost.

When I receive this guitar it was actually set up pretty good for me. I was impressed with the quality based on the price. It played very nice. I like the sound of the pick ups but I did not love them. I Found them a little muddy on the neck pick up. I preferred the control set up in relation to a standard tele. My only complaint would be the tuners. I think they could be improved upon, possibly locking tuners.
