Harley Benton HQS Bass 45-100 Flatwound 5-stars Reviews
FLATWOUND strings for such a price
it feels like a steal, literally compared to rounds these are harder to play and you'd need to adjust the truss rod these don't feel as slippery as rounds i like these, because they seem to get to the normal flat sound really fast although i do suspect it will take like a week for them to properly lose that bright high end
Good value
As someone who isn't necessarily experienced in gear yet, I found that these strings sounded great for me. I'm sure that someone more experienced than me can probably find some flaws in them, but I also found that any other set of strings with good reviews and recommendations was out of my budget.
Superb stainless flatwounds
These strings are fantastic. At any price point. The went on so well, are wrapped well at each end, and more importantly, sound fantastic. So impressed. The sound as good as other sets that would cost 3-4 times more.
P Bass-ilicious
They are currently used on a P Bass and they are a huge difference from the Ernie Ball stainless steel that were on it previously. A new variety of tones altogether. I'm sure there are better and more expensive sets out there, but if you want to try flats for yourself for the first time, go no further.
good playable strings
fantastic strings nice feel to them will buy again.
Simply brilliant.
Fancied some flats again, usually use Fender or Ernies.
Bought a set if the Harley Benton value flats and have to day they are great.
Easy install.
Hold tune well.
Feel great on the fingers, sooooo smooooth....these are quick strings with none of 'stickyness' of some brands I've tried. I tend to play near the bridge and not too stiff.
Nice tone, quite bright for flats but, they respond well to different playing methodology.
my first set of flatwounds. don't have anything similar to compare. easy installation and good sound
Great strings
Great string for a great price. Tried a few of the different Harley Benton HQS strings and they have all been good. Colour coded like other brands but more subtle colours so your bridge doesn't look like a peacock if the ends stick out. Good sound overall and have lasted a while.
Excellent flatwounds on-par with major brands at a fraction of the price
I've tried out many flatwounds over the years: Chromes, TIs, LaBellas, Roto monels, groundwounds, Fender flats and more...
I really like this. I find them totally comparable in terms of finish quality and sound with the strings by major brands. I find the tone is better then Fenders and the sound balance between strings (volume, sustain, tone) better then LaBellas. I don't use LaBellas and Fenders even though already have them, I still use these. And all this for a quarter of the price!
I don't like that many users say they are good "for the price". There is nothing "budget" about these strings, they're be great at 3x their price.
If you're considering getting them: just get them and try out.
Great strings.
My first set of flatwound strings and I'm delighted with them. Great feel. Bought them for my Harley Benton JB-40FL resistless bass and they're ideal. Will buy again.
Great fat sound !
If you want to enter the flat wound world, this is the perfect option . Great fat sound.
Affordable flatwound Bass strings
Good value for money. Sound great on my Squier Jazz bass. Will definitely be buying these again.
Good ones
Wanted to try flat wound strings on bass, but didn't want to spend a fortune. Very decent strings, in my opinion.
