Absolutely Glorious J-Bass: Low Price, High Quality.

Sounds like a J-bass, looks like Jaco's old j-bass but with the pickguard still on it. Decent tone control, but the natural tone is wonderful. Very sturdy, well built. I play mine all the time.

Great!

I love this bass, better than the squier I had before. Fretwork and finish are also really good. My favourite colour combinations available for left handed. Thanks!

Awesome beast!

This bass is a beast for this price! It looks awesome, it sounds awesome. It sound really good when you play it passive, but it really shines once you connect it to a preamp (i have an electronics background so i had one built as a stompbox). I did give quality 4 starts since it may need some adjustments, but overall it is playable out of the box.

Quality build

Quality built and sounds super for the price, no corners cut for the price paid, I don't play bass myself, always wanted to try, so decided I would buy a reasonable costing bass, without spending too much too soon, especially when I'm only a beginner bass player, but I did give it to someone who do and said I'll play one of two songs in the band, well ended up playing this for the complete 2 hours on stage, and loved it,

Can't honestly go wrong with this axe for the price,

Brilliant

For the money, this bass is fantastic and would be hard to in this price range. It is solid, well balanced and has an excellent j-bass punchy sound. It also looks great. You wont be dissapointed.

Excellent, way more than expected for the price

I bought this bass after reading glowing reviews and was hoping for something just about playable, maybe needing some fret work and having some minor faults.

I was surprised that this bass was set up perfectly and played very well out of the box. Furthermore, there were no QA issues. Frets were level with well dressed edges. The fit and finish are flawless and it plays and sounds great. On top of that, it came with good brand name strings worth €20.

Honestly, for twice the price, this would still be a good purchase. There's really nothing to fault on it and nothing feels cheap.

cannot get better bang for you buck

I use this bass for practice.

Pro:

Finish is very nice, sunburst is perfect.

Sound great.

Not the better hardware, but still very good for this price range.

con:

one very minor flaw at the insert in the back of the neck (I'm a little picky with this one).

Change the strings ASAP.

Fret are a little sharp.

Note: Playable out of the box, but far better with a good setup.

Great starter bass

I mostly play guitar but wanted to have a play with bass having started out on bass when I was a kid but gave up quickly and then roll on 20 years. Didn't want something too expensive to dip my toes in and play at home. The price point on this bass for the quality you receive is startling.

I am going to get the negatives out of the way real quick as the list is really short:

1. It is pretty damn heavy. Probably it's biggest fault. However, for playing sitting down in the studio it is fine for me. If you have a back condition (like I do), then playing standing up is probably going to cause you problems.

2. It can be a bit noisy on the frets if over plucked, probably can be sorted by adjusting to my preference. But that's how it is out of the box, plus side is that it has very low action.

3. This can be a +/- point as I am getting used to it, but it is a bit of a baseball bat neck, i.e. pretty chunky. Makes me stretch a little more than I would like, have smallish hands so a thinner neck maybe easier for me. But if you like chunky necks then this is great. The neck is smooth with a satin finish that is easy to play.

Good points:

1. Fretwork is great, zero complaints.

2. Tuners seem stable and hold tuning well.

3. Pickups sound fine with the Roswells, just how you would expect a Jazz Bass to sound.

4. Finish is really nice. Zero blemishes not faults at all (have checked very carefully).

Is it a bass I will cherish forever, maybe? Maybe not. I expect if I stick with the bass as well as guitar then I will upgrade at some stage. But this is more than good enough for at least a couple of years before I look to offload or donate it. Really enjoying playing on it so far.

Can't beat the price/quality ratio!

Frankly, for the price, there's not much to be said about the quality of this bass. It's just great. The frets could do with a little more attention to detail, but this can be remedied easily with a little love and care.
