Amazing

After looking through classifieds for a used bass for a reasonable price to no avail, I stumbled across this. I play guitar, and just wanted a bass to have around to noodle on. I was blown away with what I got for the price. I have a friend with a MIJ Geddy Lee Jazz and this thing is pretty close. I changed out the pickguard for a pearloid one, and it just is a beautiful instrument, and it plays well. No complaints whatsoever.

for that kind of money, it's a great opportunity to start playing bass.

cool bass

Sound, quality and look is great. a wonderful alternative to the more expensive Fender and Squire bass . I would have given 5 stars but pick guard had scratches, looks like it has been played numerous times with a pick.

My Favorite

I own Six Harley Benton Basses, Four Fenders, And two ESPs.

Let Me tell You... I'll put Harley Benton on even Par with the guitars costing four times as much. My go to is the JB 75. the Roswell single coils out preform the Fender Single coils on my new 75th anniversary J Bass.

My first bass.

I'm a beginner and never had a bass in my hands, so I decided to purchase a Harley Benton JB-75MN Black as my first low-cost training bass. After very fast delivery, I unpacked the box with the tool. The set includes keys for tuning the neck and string heights.

The bass looks great, nice black lacquer and light neck. I was afraid that the neck would be a screw, but everything is in order, the quality left me satisfied, everything is smooth, the screws are spinning, the sound is fine tuned.

A few months later, when I had already learned to play several popular melodies, I was slowly mastering slap and got to know the instrument better, I can say that it is quite massive. When you play sitting for a long time, the right leg gets tired, and while standing, it pulls the shoulder, even with a wide belt. The balance is shifted towards the neck - the head falls down.

Two months later, some frets came out and I scratched my palm on the sharp edges, and out of the box the neck was just even, because of this, the sound at 1-2 frets was not very good. I had to grind down the frets and set the neck deflection and lower the strings a little, and now the bass sounds even better!

In general, what we have:

+ fast delivery

+ high-quality and beautiful instrument

+ strings D "Addario

-heavy

-a bit unbalanced

The result is a good choice for a beginner to learn to play and not feel sorry for the money spent.

I'm not a bass player, I just wanted a bass for my recordings. It's a decent instrument for its price BUT:

1) You can feel everything on the neck. Frets, truss rod stripe

2) Backplate is skewed

3) bridge, same as backplate, it is not straight

4) finish is not perfect but that's normal at that price range

I have a harley benton TE-20 guitar and I love it. It costs 85 euros and it is MUCH better quality than this.

Would recommend it? I'm a fan of HB but the answer is unfortunately no.

looking cheap, but very comfortable

+ nice strings, nice pickups (high output), no radio noise, frets not trying to hurt you, good balance

- pickguard holes were drilled not in place, but everything works. Metal parts looking cheap, but work pretty well

+- thick freatboard, but it's comfortable for my hands

Good bass for it's price, For me it's very comfortable to play. Sure, it looks cheap, but comfort is the better option :)

Matches the description. Good delivery.Build quality, sound and features match the reviews reviewed and read. Good value for money, the only caveat is the weight of the guitar. I recommend buying.

An absolute winner for the money!

I was looking for a budget bass to use in my home studio. I'm not a bass player, but I know a decent bass when I hear and play one.

This has many tonal options with these particular pickups, the action was just right out of the box, the frets felt smooth and the tuning is stable!

What more could you want for the money?

Wanted to try a HB

I've been playing bass for more than 20 years and have has a numerous amount of different basses, then I bought a Bc rich custom in the end of the nineties. And sold of everything else. Because I would always go to that bass. So I thought I would try the harley benton JB because they're so cheap and have a different pickup settings.

All in all I'm really happy with my purchase, have no complaints. It's solid, it sounds fantastic, the playing feel is superb, Better than many 1000$ basses I had in my life. Does it beat my bc rich ? no. But it sounds really different, and it gives me options while recording.

No cons.

A honest instrument for those who need an all purpose bass

This is an well built instrument, got some features that could be somewhat better. The neck "inlays" give this bass a nice look but they are inprints of inlays, not inlays for real. The instrument is a bit on the heavy side, and the frets needed to be addressed after first use due to some of them being outside neck length. It plays good and has a familiar feel!

Precision Instrument

Just the same this is NOT your typical value bass. the craftsmanship exceeds my expectation, to be honest. It has that "depth" of a fender but without the excessive bulk. Phat Bass Tones...pretty easy to make playable right out the box w just about an hour of tunning & adjustments. As soon as I got it - I started to look at another already!

Love this thing.

Not much to say, great build quality, fast shipping, no faults, sounds amazing, setup is perfect out of the box, no sharp frets, very comfortable and fast neck. This is gonna be my go to for a while.
