Harley Benton MP-100 MIDI Foot Controller Reviews
Go and buy it!!! i connected to my PC, i changed sounds easily!!i connected it to my ipad and Bias 2 and it worked perfect!!! only 122€!!!! come on!!!! only with the amp didn't check it because my head doen't have midi, but i'm sure will work with any amp that has midi!! Only time will prove me wrong or not.
The best midi controller
This is cheap, small footprint for 10 buttons, works well and quite reliable. I have 5 of them, get one if you need a midi contorller!
Top quality stuff
This thing is amazing. I have to say that it works with ANYTHING and although it could use with some editing software on a PC to make it easier, it is very programmable internally.
It is missing a few more complex functions, like editing min/max values for CC Toggle, but at this price point there's basically nothing that will do more than this.
I've been using it for controlling the Neural DSP plugins and it works like a charm.
One thing to look out for is expression pedals. This product does not contain the ability to calibrate expression pedals, so you need something that works out of the box. The Lead Foot LFX-1 works but will reach max value too early. In my experience, the pedal that works perfectly is the Moog EP3, putting the bottom switch to "Other" mode.
Overall, a beast unit
Great footswitch
Works perfectly with my Axe FX II, with lots of programming options. The build quality is fantastic, and the metal chassis is very sturdy and built to last years of gigging.
My only complaint is the fact that recharging batteries via the USB port can be a bit flaky, so you're best using a dedicated battery dock.
Versatile and solid
Very versatile if you want it to be, works just as you'd expect if you use a mode tied to your software (like BIAS).
Pros:
The switches are good, the display is okay, not the best looking but bright and clear.
The build quality is really solid, as it's not a flimsy plastic case."
Cons:
The USB port on the back is not very tight. There is no problem with the connection, and it doesn't feel like it's going to break, but you can definitely wiggle the cable, and if you want to use it live you need to protect the back of the unit, the connectors seem fragile. It would've been great to see some kind of locking mechanism instead of letting the connectors themselves take the brunt of any damage.
Excellent footswitch
Great footswitch. I used it with Ableton Live and had no problems whatsoever. Highly recommended!
Does the yob great, custom settings are a hastle.
The pedal does a great job.
If you use it with Bias, Kemper, etc. and use the modes that are pre configured it works great.
The drivers for Windows are pretty wonky, on mac it works great.
The custom modes are a hastle, the manual does not explain completely what every setting does.
I made my custom one and it had a little bit of delay when switching and a sizzle sound.
For the price it is ok.
Good product!.
I use it mainly with Bias Fx2, and works near flawlessly. I also use it with an expression pedal and have no problem with that connection. The only problem i have that sometimes does not register klick, and this is my only problem with this controler
Easy and cheap!
I bought this midi foot controller for my Kemper.
I never had one before, so I was a little worried about connections and setup.
I had some issues at the very beginning because the user's manual (only in english and german) does not say anything at all about Kemper or other devices connections.
BUT I have to say about kemper, I have connected the midi cable to the MIDI IN on the Kemper, and everything has worked, even if the display on the controller says "JAMP"....Once you are in the performer mode on the kemper and you have your rigs in it, everything will be very easy.
If you want to set the KMPA on the display you will have to keep the button "C" pressed and then turn it on ( I write this, because NOWHERE it is written in the manual or online).
I made a video review here if interested:

The controller is quite heavy and solid.
The buttons work well, but they "sound" cheap when you press them.
The midi and usb cable provided in the box are no more than 2 meters long.
VERY GOOD CONTROLLER if you want to be cheap!
My favorite piece of equipment
I use this wonderful foot controller whenever I'm at home and play with a VST. I can control everything I want with this pedal and I love it. It makes my life so much easier and let's me play around with effects i wouldn't use without it. There's just so much more variety in the songs I play now.
The quality is really good for the price, but for a short amount of time, one of the stompers didn't trigger... The problem fixed itself somehow. Beside that there's absolutely nothing negative for me to say.
Bang for your buck
I'm using this to switch my amplifier and rack, just basic 8 presets. I had the Behringer FCB and wanted something smaller.
It's cheap, small, shows the presets clearly. When I first started I had the idea one of the buttons wasn't always working, but now it works fine. I like the feel of them.
The USB powering is a bit weird, but mine is next to my computer so it's no problem.
In short, it just does what you need it to do with a small footprint.
Very easy to use midi board
I use this for Bias fx2 and Nural Plini. Easy setup and works flawlessly with reaper and the two standalone clients i use.
Good build quality with aluminium and solid switches.
Kemper
Use it for Kemper. After selecting configuration for Kemper, worked like charm. 3 stomp buttons within preset (1,2,3) are togling on/off Tuner, Boost and Delay. Stock settings are perfect. Also, everything is configurable if stock settings dont work for you
Limited functionality
I was a bit disappointed with the functionality of the device. You can't do a lot of things in the CC domain. Only this:
- Option 1: Send value 127 when pressing
- Option 2: Toggle Send value 127 when pressing, Send 0 when pressing again, and so on
I really need the option to send a 0 (or whatever value) when I want to and to have the option to send 127 when pressed and 0 when released. This is unfortunately not possible with this device. So I had to return it.
Also for use with the HX Stomp: It doesn't support banks of 3 so that is a problem for the HXstomp & the usage of PC.
