Luces y sombras

Blown away by this gem

Let me sum this up by saying this instrument is worth much much more than the price. If you are on the fence just get it you won’t be disappointed.

The fit and finish was immaculate, packaged well and in great condition. Neck joint was tight, fret ends were clean and setup was good out of box.

The colour is not as warm or ‘peachy’ as the images. This is not a problem just be warned it is more of a cold shell pink. It’s a beautiful colour and actually makes the pickguard look better than the pictures.

The neck is perfect, the caramelised maple is smooth and fast, binding and block inlays make it feel like a truly premium instrument. If a company offered to make me a custom bass tomorrow I would tell them to not worry about the neck and just fit this one on. The slightly jazz width taper makes it very easy and comfortable to play.

Gotoh tuners and bridge speak for themselves, they are look good and do the job well.

Only part that doesn’t get 5 stars is the electronics. The pickups roswell have a lovely tone and output but the j pickup is a little weedy on its own and much better when used to accent the p pickup. The electronics are a little noisy, this could also be where my setup is around monitors but I will definitely need to get some better shielding and maybe fancier pots and some metal knobs. Not difficult mods but maybe needed in the future.

I’ve played much more expensive instruments and can safely say this looks and feels the same. Fantastic as it comes and can be made a forger instrument with a few small quality of life mods.
