Super convenient, and incredible value for money

I ordered this practice amp because i got fed up with pulling out my normal amp, connecting everything and after that be finally ready to play.

This is way more convenient. Plug it in your guitar, plug in your headphones and go.

The unit itself feels sturdy and has some nice weight to it. However, there's not really a proper way to hold it and pull it out of your guitar without having the idea you break it. So 5 stars for quality (4,5 actually, but that isn't an option).

In terms of handling, it fits good on both my Squier Strat and my Epiphone SG. Not in the way of any controls or whatever. The controls work well, although it would be nice if they were visible while playing. The biggest 'downside' for me is the powerswitch, it's quite difficult to use if you don't have long nails. Again, 4,5 stars.

The features are amazing for the price. Rechargeable battery, overdrive and tone, and an aux in. Can't beat that. 5 stars.

The soundquality is good for this price. The overdrive works well, produces a nice crunchy sound (dependent on the pickups you use of course).

The downside on sound is that your headphones matter. I first used cheaps earbuds from Sennheiser, but that was all hissing and crackling. However, using my Sennheiser HD599 gave a beautiful sound.

All in all highly recommended. Very good item for a cheap present for any guitarist.

Weird buzzing

The amplifier does a decent job and has decent features. There are some issues with it that I noted. First, you can't see what the dials do when you have it plugged in, so you will have to commit that to memory before you start playing, because the text is facing away from you. Second, there is an annoying buzz, like a mosquito, which ruins the sound.

Don't cheap out on headphone amps

I bought this because I demolished my vox blues headphone amp.

I thought for 15 euro let's give it a try. This headphone amp is not for me. The sound is shrill and it goes into overdrive too soon. If you want to play clean, you can, but then the volume is very low.

Good value for the money

Bought it for the test and was quite surprised for the sound and sustain. Not too hissi and battery life is good also. You can use it with headphones but also turn some little battery speaker for little amp.

I kept it.

For the price it's ok

It doesn't sound great, but for the price it is ok. It might be too big to plug in for some guitars though

It's cool small amplifier that allows you play and don't disturb other people, cool feature is that you can connect your phone or another device and play along with backing track. Lasts a long time without charging, only the of/on switch is maybe too tiny.

Excellent for the price

I was in need of a way to practice silently and this product fits the job perfectly. The sound is nice clean and pretty good with some drive. You won't regret buying this. Good luck.

does not work for bass :(

Probably a nice product for a guitar! But don't buy it for a bass. I mean it works, but the sound is terrible. I could have known this haha.

Disappointed & broken

I hat to give bad reviews but...

Now: it has last 2 days.

It was something I gave my kid to play his guitar and avoid him to use my mixer and stuff.

I guess I thought he broke it.

So I did not even think to call customer service.

I was just a bit sad with it.

Then Sunday comes and I had time to fool around.

Open it and find out what's wrong.

I was almost sure it was the headphone female jack that has broken.

4 screw later i found a cemetery of broken soldering points.

The female jack seems to have been already replaced as it's solder material was dirty and some dirty could be found on the board. The jack board port was gone. Hanging to the jack (internal) cable. Even the USB charge port fell apart like nothing as keeping it in place (I do not even had the time to try to use it to charge the battery)

Now: on my side it's not a really big deal, I'll ask my laboratory friend form work to solder here and there, offer him a pair of beers and cheers a few one myself too... and we are good to go. I guess not everybody is so lucky.

I'm happy with it

I'm really happy with this little amp. Only downside is that the distortion kicks in as soon as you turn up the gain. It could have been a little bit more progressive.

Gets the job done

This little amp is a cheap and effective solution for practicing quietly. No recording studio sound quality can be expected, but it is enough for practicing. Battery stays charged for quite a long time and is recharged very fast (30 minutes from dead to full charge).

Great value for money

I bought this small amp to practice with headphones while the children sleep. It is also possible to connect it to the hifi system via the 3,5mm headphone-out and it has a range of tones from clean to distorted. I used the aux in to connect my smartphone for metronome and play along songs. I like this portability and flixibility.

Absolutely in love with this little thing

Bought this on a whim as I liked the idea and other reviews were good. I'd have never expected it to be executed as well as it is though! Just plug into the guitar, plug your headphones in and crank up the built in overdrive and then you can play for hours without annoying the wife or neighbours. Excellent little feature adding an AUX input on there, just plug in your phone or MP3 player and jam along to the track. I half expected the sound to be it bit muddy running both guitar and AUX through it but it was absolutely fine.

Pros

Price

Good sound

Compact

Great little gadget for travelling

Rechargeable

AUX input

Cons

Plastic construction - leave it on the floor and this will be in pieces with one misplaced foot.

Had similar gadget from Vox (Amplug2 Metal) that costs 3x more, but never liked the sound. Vox is equipped with Delay/Chorus/Reverb and rotating jack, but this HB Rockplug is more usable for different types of music, and sound is better...

It would be great if there was a little bit more drive.

No need for additional batteries, and there is voltage indicator.

Overall, great gadget for practice or to connect guitar to your stereo.

HB Rockplug Classic Rock - Super little thing

Very surprised at how good this is for the money. This sounds great with a good set of over ear headphones. Fits into the recessed jack of a Mexican Tele too.

Great sound.

I loved this thing! Great sound! Too bad I stepped on it barefoot and the jack input (with phone jack inside) broke. I tried to open for repair but too much little plastics.

Later I acquired a Vox Classic Rock and tho I find the tone very good the HB Rockplug doesn't fall behind. The HB doesn't "color" the sound as the other (Vox sounds like a "through cabinet" with bass). It's a different type of OD of the Vox and the gain to the max sounds like distortion (ex. Nirvana).

You can use it with bass but it's not that good (the Vox sounds good on bass and has lot's of volume and boost - clean and OD).

But the biggest plus is the price and the rechargeable battery! It lasts for ages! I could play for days and days without recharging and then no need to buy batteries - and yes buying batteries is a major issue. Some folkes might say "and what if battery dies?" well my phone is 3years and every 2 days I charge it and it still goes on. Imagine 2 batteries per week minimum after 1 year the amount of money you'll spend! You can buy three or more HB Rockplug!

I'll be buying another next order for sure.
