A real beauty

This guitar is a real surprise to me, for a ridiculously low price you get a lot of guitar ! Is it as good as my 2015 Gibson Les Paul Traditional? No, it is not, but that's no surprise... but it comes very close in terms of look, feel and sound... for a fraction of the price (Gibson price divided by 13 !!!). This is a great rock machine ;-)

Don't hesitate, buy it and let it rock !

Good buy

Easy to play and well finished. Pickups are good, but really high output. It's a guitar to play rock. Tuners are ok, but I'am no sure about their reliability. Overall, a very good guitar

Amazing for the price

This is another great example of an affordable guitar that is totally playable right out of the box. The build quality is very good considering the price, obviously cost saving features are visible on the finish and overall construction but none of these affect tone, playability or instrument reliability.

The electronics are decent, though the P90s, at 9,7 K Ohm for bridge and 7,72 for Neck, are a bit on the hot side. Anyway this is the first point most people upgrade the guitar.

The neck is very comfortable, and the fretwork very good. It stays in tune like my LP Standard USA, no complaints on that.

Overall, a more than decent instrument at an incredible price.

Harley Benton SC-450 P90 GT Classic Series

New harley owner, i read the reviews and i purchased this guitar while it was out of stock. i had to wait about 2 months. i was blown away at how beautiful this guitar is. some have said that there were differences in the gold color, mine is a lemon yellow gold, absolutely gorgeous. set up was good and i have no complaints. i was planning to modify this guitar, but i will only be changing the strings and tuners to locking tuners. sounds & plays great. I love this guitar.

Absolutely fantastic guitar!

I was very sceptical about the inexpesive guitars ( I own 10 guitars, of them 4 USA made Gibsons and Fenders) but I heard a lot about Harley Benton guitars and once I had a chance to play HB35 from the friend of mine.

Due to the low price, I decided to order 2 HB guitars: HB35+ and this SC-450 with P90s.

They arrived in a great condition, and this one - it's totally surprised me with how beautiful it's made and set up and could be played directly from the box. Trust me, some of my Gibsons/Fenders came in a condition which required an additional set up before it could be played, but this HB - it was set up absolutely perfectly.

And the tone if fantastic - I do not even plan to replace the stock P90s with the ones from higher brands like Gibson etc ( what I used to do with my Epiphones). This guitar is an amazing blues machine, it's my guitar of choice now for blues, blues rock music.

The neck if very well made, slim, the neck joint is much more convenient than the one of Gibson Les Pauls.

I totally recommend it and I do not think I will be spending money now for more expensive guitars as Harley Benton provides more or less the same playability and quality for the way lower price.

Whey I am plaing this guitar, I have a feeling that I am playing a much expesive instrument than it is.

SC-450 P90 Gold Top

For the money, this guitar is incredible value. A Gold Top LP with P90’s for under £150 - Even if you replaced all the hardware, the pickups and wiring this would STILL be a bargain.

The only negatives on the one I received were that the toggle switch, although functional, wobbles from left to right and, the frets needed a polish. Nothing a new switch and a couple of hours work won’t put right. Otherwise this is a fantastic guitar at a stupidly affordable price for what it is.

Wow

I hesitated on purchasing one of these P-90 guitars, but on impulse I decided to pull the trigger. What can I say, I have purchased two other Harley Benton's one I raged a 5 star, second one 4 star and this one...would fall into the 7 star if there was such a category. There was no finish or cosmetic flaws, switches and volume pots worked as expected....the neck...what can I say....I have a 1976 Gibson Les Paul Custom with a gorgeous 60's profile neck, that fits like a glove, the P90 GT has the same dimension neck......and the sound is incredible...thank you thank you...for the price...wow

A lot of guitar for the money

Recently purchased an Epiphone Les Paul Studio and just did not like the feel or the quality. Ordered a Harley Benton SC-450 P90 GT and everything about it is superior for much less money. The HB action is lower, the neck feels better, the tuners are nicer, it actually has binding that looks great, and the fit and finish is close to perfection.

PROS: Superior fit and finish, excellent attention to details, great action.

CONS: A couple of tiny paint drips in the back, almost invisible, no big deal. Input jack plate slightly misaligned, again, no big deal.

CONCLUSION: If you've ever wanted a Les Paul style guitar for little money, get a Harley Benton now, before everyone else catches on to this amazing value.

For the money, you just can't get any better

I've always been a P90 fan, since many years ago I was lucky enough to "take a ride" on a friend's Les Paul Goldtop. I was fascinated by the clarity and sonic articulation that the guitar pickups were able to express, so different from the humbuckers usually associated with an LP. Fast-forward to the present day, I started playing in a band where that particular sound would have been welcome, and not having the huge economic means necessary to buy the reissue of the original, I decided to buy this guitar, starting from the consideration that , given the price, even if it turned out to be a mistake I would not have cried for a long time.

Well, it wasn't a mistake, far from it!

The guitar is built very well, well balanced and without any error in painting. The golden color is rather tending to orange, but this does not disturb at all. The neck is smooth and, after lowering the action slightly by acting on the bridge, the playability is excellent. The pickups are the strong point of this instrument: despite being a little different from the originals (more sparkling and oriented at high frequencies) they retain the typical P90 character. they can be pissed off like a hyena or very sweet, depending on the style with which they are solicited. I won't change them, they are just fine as they are. What I will probably change is the nut and the tuners, which despite doing their job well enough are a little imprecise and don't hold the tuning for long.

Very Nice Gold Top Guitar!

I have several guitars including a Les Paul, Jr which has been made in many years. I have other Gibson and Epiphone guitars and this guitar's playability is equal to them all. The fit and finish is perfect, no flaws detected. The electronics worked as designed. I will eventually change the pickups as I do in most of my guitars although there is nothing wrong with the installed pickups. I just want a slightly different sound. I would not spend the money on an authentic Gibson Gold Top after having purchased this one.

great p90 LP style.

Have a variety of LP style guitars. Playing since I was 12years old. Now in my 60s. This is one of the best p90 LPs I have played.

Pros . Great sound, Impressed with playability.

Cons. 3 way switch loose. Had to replace switch nut was stripped. adjusted string height and did some minor fret trim and polishing. Changed strings to # 10 e.b. slinks. This thing is great now. Impressed!

I Love it

The pickups sound great, The finish is flawless, the one i received the frets weren't sharp, there was no fret buzz, the action is a little high but that can be fixed easily, overall i really like it, it's really nice, plays good, i would recommend this guitar.

HB SC-450 P90 GT

I don't know how they do do for the price.

Wow!

I order the SC-450 P90 GT in February and finally received it July 13. I am really impressed. The sound is great, look and finish is very good. Unlike VooDoo Guitars, mine was almost perfect. There is a slight discoloration in the crook of the horn, looks like where there was glue and it took the stain differently and the Rhythm/Treble plate was on slightly crooked. Other than that everything else is fine. Keeps tune great. I had to intonate the EAD strings but no other setup was required.

Sounds great clean and dirty. I have been playing my Ibanez the most lately with the Edge trem and it dies off quickly, so the SC-450 seems to sustain really long.

Because I ordered in February I only paid 108 euro ($126 US) plus shipping. It is by far the least expensive guitar I have ever purchased (7 other electrics, one acoustic and one classical) but it ranks close to the top as a favorite (maybe because it is new and different?).

I hate when people comment "for the money", I prefer to rate mostly on the feel whether it is expensive or not. But, @ $126 you've got nothing to lose. Sorry to those that have not gotten a good one because this is really an amazing guitar.

First Harley Benton - impressed

I bought this guitar 2,5 years ago but decided to write review now. After such amount of time guitar properties are exaclty the same. Finish

Finish is great, I did not found any problems with this guitar. Binding is well done, gold veneer is perfect, neck is perfect aligned and frets are very well polished.

Sound:

P90 are blowing my mind. Neck pickup is MUCH better than bridge, however all P90 bridge pickups are harsh - I plan to replace it to minibucker. Neck pickup is warm and very articulate, this is best sounding neck pickup I have ever heard. From now on, I prefer P90 neck than humbucker or strat single coil - it is perfect for hi gain metal solo, crunchy and clean solo.

Body

Very thick, weighty but good balance with neck.

Tuners:

This is the weakest point of this guitar. AFter couple of songs and excessive strumming guitar needs re-tune.

General summary:

Guitar is perfect for any genre and well done. For this money - this is real steal. I think this guitar is worth at least 250 EUR.

my second harley- unreal

i absolutely love this guitar- recieved it in 2 weeks during the holiday season which is great; i own lots of gibson custom shop , so i ab this best to my lp p90 and this sounded better and it looks great to, nice and heavy- i actually love the fatter neck. the p90 are very fat and warm- guitar came set up and boxed perfectly- just tuned it up and played- great for blues, rock , anything and it feels like my lp gold top at a fraction of the cost. very well made. i am thrilled to have it in my collection. will be my go to guitar along with my other harley- - if you need a lptype guitar, look no further. i will be buying more and cust service is great to. 5 stars

Amazing sound for the price.

I really like the HB single cut guitars, with a little tweaking and know how you can have a really excellent guitar on a budget. I got this due to the P90's, wanting a different sound from my favorite guitar shape.

The pickups are excellent, they range from bell like single coil sounds to full on blues/rock grit, really very versatile, they are unbranded, but are really superb pups.

The finish on the guitar was overall very good, the frets, although needing a good polish, were very well finished, and I was able to get the action down low. The neck is a clunker, quite thick, but after a few minutes it feels good, although I did scour off the lacquer as its quite glossy and thick.

Really love the tones from this excellent guitar, for the price it's unbelievable.

It's a great guitar! I'm only a little disappointed in the color, it's not gold it's orange, maybe it is only mine, but the guitar is great, only the finish was not what I tought it would be.
