Harley Benton SC-450Plus VB Vintage Series 5-stars Reviews
It is very good
How many guitars the world has seen, and les paul, always is and will be in the top of the best guitars. I remember when idols sang songs on this guitar as a child, and in those days it was a dream to buy such an instrument. But then I bought myself a Harley Benton SC-450 Plus VB vintage electric guitar. And I felt the full power of the rock musicians of the 80s. Great sound, comfortable neck, and aesthetic splendor. However, it turned out to be heavier than I thought. A lot has been written about this guitar, it is a legend, and I would recommend it to all novice musicians.
I love this guitar
This is just like buying a Gibson Les Paul for 1/10 of the price and the quality is just superb. I highly recommend this guitar. You can't go wrong with this one!!
Amazing budget les paul!
In compare with epiphone around 500 bucks - Harley Benton made a fire. Amazing quality , amazing look. Sound: if u wanna classic les paul - that babe for u. Neck is classic LP sound like old man british with big nose. Bridge is bright and powerful rhythm sound
Plays Exactly how I expected
I was looking for a Les paul body in the vein of Travis Stever from Coheed & Cambria from early music vids. It fit the bill once I got it I played along with many songs and I love the single tap. very versatile for rock and clean tones! excellent purchase!
Awesome Les Paul style guitar!
Excellent, neat detailing, well-functioning fittings. The sound of the humbuckers and single-coil cut is a sea of possible positions.
I've only one taken this guitar to the workshop once to get the first fret fixed. Otherwise it's the best you can find in this price range. Truly a pleasure to play an instrument! 🤌
Amazing!
Great guitar. Buy it now!
Best single cut, for sure
Awesome and versatile coil split guitar, love it.
Great starting guitar
I was lucky to get both this and the Epiphone Slash AFD LP Performance Pack for xmas. Both amazing guitars for a starting student.
Easy to setup from the box and the experience was very great so far.
10/10 would buy from both Harley Benton and Epiphone again
Incredible!
Just discovered I can get HB in my country and sure enough it is true, the guitar I would say is more accurately at a level 3 or 4 times (at least) it's price.
Everything is perfect
Set up was perfect, the workmanship is outstanding.
This guitar is too good for the price.
It is well made with no visible blemishes.
Looks good and plays well. The neck relief was fine at .010”. I lowered the action a tad with no buzzing evident.
The colour is much redder than the stock photo, but I rather like it.
The tuners are adequate, and I may change them, but the pickups sound great.
This is my seventh HB, and third HB SC.
Love them all.
First But Not Last
The SC-450 Plus was my first Harley Benton, but it won't be my last. I wanted a guitar with coil split and found the SC-450 Plus for a price I couldn't believe, so I decided to try it. I have not been disappointed. The guitar arrived packed well and in great shape. Just a little tuning, and it was ready to play. I liked it so much that I told two friends, and now they are happy owners of Harley Bentons too.
Beyond Impressed
Hi everyone! First time Harley Benton buyer here. I ordered the SC-450Plus VB Vintage Series and had it shipped to NY. It only took 5 days and arrived very well packed. Right out of the box the guitar sounded great. I didn’t even need to adjust the action. It’s been a week now and I haven’t missed a day playing it. I’ll definitely be ordering from HB again.
The value gods have answered our prayers!
After watching several YouTube reviews, I decided to purchase this guitar for myself at a fraction of what I believe it's worth. It is absolutely stunning; the craftsmanship is superb in every way and it plays like a dream. This guitar will remain in my collection indefinitely! Thank you H.B.!
Great for the price.
Sold my Gibson LP studio 2009 (needed money) and bought this one instead. I am an amateur and don`t need a professional instrument. Play only at home for my own pleasure.
The only place where this HB is worse then Gibson studio is sound. Pickups on HB are average in tone and output.
Finish of this HB is awesome. You will find few flaws for sure, but they will be miserable and won`t affect anything. BTW on Gibson you will find flaws too.
Neck is almost identical to Gibson LP Studio in terms of feel and playability. Fretwork on HB feels even better. Only flaw is that HB doesn`t polish frets.
Tuners are same feel and quality as Gibson kluson tuners (meaning they are average). Holds the tune well.
Overall - guitar is worse every dollar you pay. Even more.
Outstanding instrument!
The SC-450+ was my first single cut neck-glued electric. Setup, intonation and playing ease was flawless. The tapered heel design on the SC-450+ really helps upper fretboard playing comfort and hand orientation, and the string resonance on notes fretted above the 15th fret was splendid.
The tobacco burst finish with a warm orange tint was beautiful. Body weight was comfortable for long gigs. Non-players commented to me, "That one has the best sound (fullest) of all your guitars". The versatility of tone I could get out of the two split pickups was appreciable, but there was a single coil output dropoff I had to keep volume headroom on the guitar and adjust for in live situations.
I gigged the SC-450+ about 12 times, and then it was stolen out of locked stowage. I replaced it with a Harley Benton SC-550 tobacco burst a year later and have been most pleased with the results since.
I'm not all upset that I can't afford a Gibson LP or two; just give me an instrument that I can play rhythm and lead hard and long on, and I'll be loyal to it forever.
I purchased the SC-450+ new for $181.
I purchased the SC-550 used for $225.
Best deals on the planet; no doubt about it.
just BUY it!
Great quality, tone and looks. I removed the pick guard for aesthetic reasons, but otherwise its a great axe. The split coil does what it says and gives the extra versatility as needed.
Nice ax.
This thing whales out sweet sounds.
Decent Guitar
For its price, you get a lot. You get a single-coil split, which helps when you're into blues and rock. It stays in tune pretty well for a les Paul-styled guitar. The only bad thing with it is the volume knobs. They just feel cheap. But for a person, who is "scared" of buying expensive guitars, suits this instrument the best.
Nice! So nice!
This was my first guitar. I compared her with other forest floors of my friends, and she was in no way inferior to them. The only thing that had to be done with it after buying it from the master was to grind the frets, due to the fact that they were slightly different in height, the strings beat against the frets and rang.
P.S. The harsh Russian winter has overpowered my guitar. I had to sand the ends of the frets a bit, but this happens to all
