Awesome Guitar

I am a player and over the years I have collected many guitars. 2 Strats including a Strat Ultra, Gretsch, Epiphones. This was my first Harley Benton. What a great guitar, From playing (extremely playable neck - out of the box) great sounding with the Roswell HAF Humbuckers, Great hardware including very solid grover tuners, The coil split option is great too. I play in a long established band and use mine practicing and playing out with, This guitar sounds and lucks great and is up to the challenge.

My #1 Guitar now

Nothing to do to this beautiful guitar but polish the frets and tune it. This SC Custom II is my 3rd Harley Benton, #4 is arriving in 2 days. These guitars are perfect for everyone, you order a cheap guitar and get a very good guitar, I have no problem with that.

Excellent!

All I expected and more. Excellent ergonomics and the tone is fabulous, especially on the the bridge pickup. The neck pickup produced some lovely warm tones and the split coils provide an extra range of tonal dynamics. I paired this guitar with a Dr D overdrive pedal from Harley Benton and found a match made in heaven. Great work, well done HB.

Nice looking, good sounding.

Overall good guitar.

nice looking, great finish, good tuners, good pickups, strong thick neck. In hands you will it as solid rock guitar, as one piece rock. But it also have some minuses... I didint like feeling of guitar just after opened the box and picket up it - it was not good set up. I needed to take this guitar to guitar master to set up all points (distance between strings and pickup, bridge height, nut height and so on) because it was also impossible to comfortable play at beginning. this thing i really not liked, When you buying new guitar you want it to be great just after you unboxed it. But after i set up everything it is now GREAT!

Great guitar !

Played nice out of the box , minor set up ,oiled the neck, tweaked the truss rod, dropped the action, set the intonation, plays like butter, stays in tune, very comfortable in the hands, the finish is great! Overall I think it's a keeper,

Great guitar. Fantastic value.

For the money, this is easily the best guitar I've played. Value aside, it's still an extremely high quality guitar, maybe sitting between an average E******* and G***** single cut. I like to set my action as low as possible, and only a couple frets way up high were problematic when I did this. Other than that, I'm not personally a fan of split coil sounds so I replaced the push/pull tone pot with a standard one. The Grover tuners are literally top tier: smooth to adjust and hold their tuning perfectly. The Alnico V humbuckers are a fantastic stock pickup with a balanced modern up-front sound, though I did swap mine out for some Alnico II replacements because I like the more mellow tones from them. I've been buying guitars for over 20 years and honestly this is a great guitar for any experience level of guitarist. Though I would definitely recommend getting the guitar professionally set up if you're not comfortable doing it yourself.

Fantastic deal

A beautifully finished guitar with a great feel straight out the box. Great tonal capabilities with top tuners, a graphite nut, split coil capabilities and a great finish. Unreal spec for the price.

One of the greatest guitar, for it price

I was pleasantly surprised the first time I took it in my hands. A beautiful, variable, high quality and simply pleasant guitar. As for me, one of the best guitars for its price. It have small cosmetic flaws, but the guitar is excellent

Even Better Than the Real Thing!

I bought this guitar after much searching - to play in my band, that is raising money in 2022 for families living with Motor Neurone Disease. We will play a series of gigs next year in the UK, based on the music of U2.

I read loads of reviews whilst thinking, 'shall I stretch to a low end Gibson, maybe an Epiphone or Tokai'. And it was a battle in my head for months! In the end I was won over by the fantastic reviews which gave me a feel for what real musicians thought of Harley Benton guitars - the good, the bad, and the ugly!

I kept watching the YouTube videos and listening to the sound and thinking - I could recreate that and more with my Boss GT-1000 effects.

So I pressed the button with this Les Paul look-alike (SC Custom II Lemon Flame). At the price, I thought at least, I have little to lose if it isn't great.

The reality exceeded my expectations by some way! The parcel was delivered quickly (considering it was overseas), packaged well and arrived in immaculate condition.

It was ready to play and in tune out of the box and what pleased me most in the first instance was that the action was lower than other guitars I have at double the price.

Intonation was spot on and the sound surprisingly crisp and clear for an LP type guitar. Putting it through the GT-1000, I was able to get exactly the sounds I wanted for the biggest U2 songs.

Now, I have been playing the guitar for ages (more than 30 years), but I am far from an expert. So there may have been small things I may have missed, but if there are - I can't see them.

The SC-Custom is light (especially with the cut away sections in the back), easy to play and even has strap locks into the bargain - something really important to me as I have dropped previous guitars on a number of occasions!

The guitar holds tune really well - even with variations in ambient temperature and humidity. So, it is very difficult to find fault - yes the pickups are not as hot as my EMG's on my Epiphone Explorer, but I didn't expect them to be! They sound really good and with a few tweaks on the effects, I can more than cater for that to get the OD and distortion I need.

My conclusion - this is an unbelievable deal. You are getting a great quality guitar at a fraction of the price of the 'bigger' names. To me it is a no-brainer. So much so that I have just ordered two more Harley Benton guitars. I couldn't be happier!

Good singlecut for the money.

Good wood. Good sound, but for heavy styles it is necessary to replace the pickups (weak output). The neck and body are thin and very comfortable. The playability is on top.

The workmanship is not very good - there are a lot of minor flaws: the rattle of the strings on the first frets, the paintwork with minor defects (especially at the junction of the top and neck). But in general, if you modify the guitar from the master, it is very good.

I would like to see such a model with 24 frets and dual action truss rod.

Amazing value, great looks, all while making all the right sounds

Firstly, I'd like to say, fantastic value. Absolutely incredible flame maple top and some great pickups in this thing. The single coil tones especially are nearly indistinguishable from a normal single coil to most if not all in your audience (I tested my family, I don't think they like me much anymore). It certainly sounded good through my old Laney. Tuners, as you'd expect, work great, never skip or fall consistently out of tune and the nut works as any decent nut would. Fretwork was good, nothing completely insane but not uncomfortable in any way. However, there were one or two things that did stick out to me, and those were the pots. Neither made the guitar unplayable, and it's still better than any other guitar I've played in this price range, but the volume pot was a bit crackly and the tone pot was very much an 'everything at 10, nothing at 1-9'. Having said that, it is still a great guitar and I would highly recommend getting one if the niche in your collection is open.

I thoroughly love this guitar.

Regardless of the price I'm thrilled with this purchase. It is a fine instrument. The quality is better than I ever expected. The feel of the instrument is sleek with plenty of resonance and sustain. Beautiful finish too. I can get really super critical after having it for a month there are a few minor tiny deviations in the paint lines I really had to go out of my way to find along the binding where the neck meets the body. Negligible really because the finish is still seamless. I never notice it. The body contours are very ergonomic and as I mentioned before very sleek feeling for a single cut. It plays excellent with very low action and no fret buzz. The P90 pull pot feature gives me every possible tone or attack I could want in any genre.

Great sound, great color, good build quality. The paint is of poor quality, you can see spots everywhere, but it does not bother, because the yellow is gorgeous. The strings are low over the fret, the guitar is in tune. The cover above the truss rod is screwed on crookedly, there is a huge gap. Heavy. Overall a good guitar for the price.
