A great guitar, in my opinion, better than an epiphone! Good job Harley Benton! I heard a lot of good things about them, and now i'm very happy about my choise.
This rocks it out of the park
Easy to play, great access to notes, split coil, little to no fingerprints, and is a total shredder machine.
Harley Benton SC 500 Custom
Purchased this guitar a while ago now and I have to say the quality is great, playable straight from the box, no nasty surprises here, everything you would expect from a top quality guitar, it sounds great much better than my Epiphone DC , okay these are different types of guitar but I prefer the HB, In fact after a lot of web surfing for another guitar I have ordered the Harley Benton CST-24T ( Paradise Flame ) & am awaiting delivery, hopefully this will be just as good as my SC 500 Custom
Great guitar at an even better price
It's pretty, plays and sounds great. Didn't even need a setup at arrival. About a year after purchase the pickup selector started to make some trouble, but nothing that couldn't be fixed. It does amazing for the price.
This is an excellent and well made guitar. I cant find any reason to fault it or criticize it. I loved the look to begin with when seeing it on the website, but then after ordering and receiveing the guitar i was even more impressed.
The guitar is immaculate. Everything is finished immaculately. The paint job and binding is perfect. The neck is straight and the frets are excellent. The grover tuners are holding there tune fine. The Roswell passive pick ups are excellent too. They can do warm and pristine cleans, and are throaty and clear for high gain metal too.
From my experience with this guitar i would highly recommend it too anyone interested in this style of guitar.
Sick!
i've been playing this guitar for now 10 months and...
For the price is an expectacular guitar, i thought for this price is not going to be a really good quality guitar, but i have no words, the sounds is amazing. The pickups work really nice, they manage the distortion very well and they give a pretty good clean sound.
The shape of guitar is very comfortable, i dont feel any distrubs at the time i play, u can feel it is good quality and the paint doesn't go off as they old version made in Vietnam.
The pickups switch is a little bit lower quality but it still works, it maybe can bring little problems but nothing u can't fix, i recommend change it for one higher quality.
Appart from that is everything really good, tuners keep the string in tune very well, the neck is comfortable and it has a good reach for last frets (22).
I absolutely recommend this guitar, is over expectations for this price!
Smooth player, decent sound
I always wanted a LP style but never could find one at the price I could afford. The matte finish and gold hardware looks straight up metal, fretwork is nice, neck is decently fast. My only complaint is the pups, all crunch and no smoothness with a rectified high gain. Blues type stuff is on point. Tuning stability is questionable I don’t know if I need a string butler or maybe lube the nut. It seems to go out of tune just slightly often. But the price beats all.
Impeccable execution.
I liked the guitar very much in terms of performance. I have not found a single cosmetic flaw. In terms of mechanics and technology, everything is also fine. The strings from the factory are low, nothing rings, the scale is perfectly tuned. The sound is interesting. The short scale gives a thicker sound than my Ibanez. As for the guitar as a whole, there are only 2 small remarks: the push-pool regulator turns more easily than the other two, which seems to be good, but it immediately catches the eye and the switch for 3 positions is set slightly diagonally, and not straight. But this is all very easy to get better.
Personally, only the body is not very familiar to me. Superstrat is much more convenient and comfortable for me. This hull has a clear bias towards the hull side. This must be taken into account if you have never dealt with this type of case, it is better to try it in advance with friends or in a store.
Good guitar
The guitar came in an improper state.
With a very high string action: 4-5 mm for the bass string.
And with a VERY dirty fretboard.
Fortunatelly, it was needed only to lower the bridge. The truss rod was already properly set up. Now the guitar sounds almost without buzzing.
Pros
- the sound is just good
- good playability, comfortable neck
- nice look
- lightweight
- machine heads
Cons
- 2-3 working days between ordering and shipping
- improper state on delivery
- flaws of finish that I don't realy care
To sum up
- it's a very good guitar for beginners and advanced players
- it costs every cent
- perhaps, it's worth of replacing pickups later
Finish wasnt perfect but descent guitar
Nice sound and quality for the price.
Pickups gold coating, started changing colors weeks after starting to play.
Beutyfull finish but when you get close you can see few defects. Overall descent guitar with good sound
