Great take on a Special

Very impressive guitar. Unusually, I have not changed a thing apart from doing a basic setup. HB continues to impress. This is my 5th HB, and I have a Resonator on order. For the price of one high end Epiphone I have quality examples of Tele, Strat, PRS, LP DC Jr and LP Special to pick up depending on the mood.

Bargain

For the money you can't go wrong with this axe. It sounds and looks great out of the box and if you want a versatile instrument, the P90's in this can take you from Jazz, through Surf, Rock and on to Metal. Just tweak your amp, put a pedal of two in the mix and then play with your tone and volume to take you from creamy or cutting leads to gritty power chords that will not get lost in the mix.

Superb build and awesome tone

I like P90 equipped guitars and I could not resist buying this one because of the superb pelham blue finish. It looks even better in the wood. It is built beautifully and is of splendid quality. It was set up out of the box. It played superbly without adjustments and the tone from the alnico P90s was excellent.

SC special in Pelham Blue

I wanted a guitar with P90 pickups. This guitar proved an exceptional purchase for the price paid. It was not perfectly set-up, the nut was cut too high, which I got sorted. The action was a little high and the neck required a little truss rod adjustment. Having rectified these small anomalies the guitar now plays very well.

The general build, finish and appearance is very good. The pickup sound just as P90’s should.

I have many very expensive guitars, and this guitar compares very well. I may upgrade the tuners and bridge eventually. This guitar is certainly suitable for beginners and intermediate players, furthermore any experienced player could put it to good use. For the price it us an absolute bargain.
