Great guitar for the price

Great guitar for the price. Developed a crease and a crack on the bottom of the guitar around the controls. Doesn't affect the sound or function of guitar but is weird and strange. I have never had a guitar do that.

PRO's:

Affordable, basic T-style guitar

Solid built

Tuners basic but they work, esp after upgrade to roller spring trees

No fret sprout

Warm sounding neck pickup

CONS:

RIDICULOUS HIGH ACTION, BRASS SADDLES COULD NOT BE LOWERED FURTHER, NUT HEIGHT WAS OK. I HAD TO SHIM THE NECK 1.0 + 0.25 DEGREE SHIMS IN COMBINATION. I PERSONALLY LIKE TO "HOBBY AROUND" BUT IF THIS GUITAR IS THE 1ST FOR A NOVICE PLAYER, HE/SHE WOULD NOT BE HAPPY.

Heavy guitar (3,84 Kg's)

Shrill sounding bridge P.U.

OTHER:

Thick neck, yet flat radius. For me (still) a very playable guitar after having shimmed the neck.

OVERALL:

When you take pleasure in doing work on your guitar should the particular example arriving requires so, go for it. Soundwise there is not much against it. Had mine been more playable out of the box, I would have rated it ***/****/ *****

Excellent with a setup

I gigged for years with a tele and I do repairs and mods for people. I got this based on the specs and reviews. Good hardware, good finish, nice thick neck like a Fender. Not too heavy.

It arrived and it needed some work, the nut slots in particular. It also needed a thicker neck shim and a fret dressing as they were pretty rough. The stock strings were dull too...a new set made a huge difference

Now it's gone from a guitar that a buyer might have returned to what I consider a very good telecaster I could easily gig with...with an awesome paisley design.

I realise that it takes time to really finish off a guitar and make it playable and that this was an outrageously low cost for a decent guitar already, so I'm not criticising. I'm just sharing my experience. I'm very glad I bought it, but I'm also aware that someone who isn't able to do the work I've done might not be as pleased.

But I'd still recommend getting one, even if you have to take it to someone for a setup.
