Harley Benton TE-90QM LH Trans Red 5-stars Reviews
Thin line 'Tele' for a song!
This guitar is a thing of beauty- you could even hang it on the wall as an art piece. The finish on mine is impeccable-just look at that quilting! Also the binding is first class. The neck is extremely comfortable to play (I have smallish hands) and the sound meets my every requirement. I've used this guitar as a test bed for all sorts of open tunings (even tried 'Keef's' 5string open G) and it's always delivered. A stunning looking guitar that plays as well as it looks,in a variety of musical genres. Even my wife likes it!
To get the verge pick up to change the covers and a wire fell off had to take it to a Guitar Tech now itâs back to being great
Harley Benton knocks it out of the park again
I can't believe the quality of this guitar in terms of playability, tone and finish Thanks for having such great budget guitars in lefthanded
A P90 for lefties
I absolutely love this guitar.
It’s so comfortable to play it looks stunning and the P90s sound amazing.
Even unplugged it sounds so resonant.
One of my favourites for sure.
Great value and playability that would put a lot of the top names to shame.
One of my favorites among the guitars I own
When I purchased the TE-90QM I wasn't quite sure what to expect regarding the quality of the instrument, or whether I would like it. Having owned it for a while now, it's the guitar I consistently pick up when I want to practice. I love the look of the guitar, I like the tone of the pickups, I've had no problems with the electronics aside from the jack needing to be tightened on one occasion, and the tuners work well. The tuning stability is good, and the nut is well cut. It was also intonated very well as shipped, and the finish on mine is basically flawless. That said, I have all of those things on my American Standard Strat and a few of my other guitars as well, but what sets this guitar apart for me from the others I own is the neck and fret work on this guitar as shipped were/are amazing (they put even my American Standard Strat to shame).
While I can't discount the idea that I was lucky, I doubt that's the case, given that my CST-24T is nearly as flawless. I'm not as big a fan of the finish on the back of the CST-24T's neck (I just prefer a satin finish, it's not a flaw of the instrument) and the fret work isn't as impeccable (though it's still very good).
Excellent guitar
This is the least expensive guitar in my collection of 15. It is very well put together. I live in Canada and after a period of acclimation I made trivial adjustments to set it to my preferences. Very good detail work including frets. The P90's are fine, but not premium. Still an outstanding value. Highly recommended. Arrived promptly.
one of the best budget guitars
Sounds 5-plus, well-built, but there is a slight gap between the neck and the deck ...
Another of the minuses I would like to note is that the potentiometers ... How to say, they correspond to the price, everything else does not correspond, the rest is much higher
Lovely looking and sounding
Great little guitar, nice to play and sounds great. Very happy.
stunning looks and feel
plays like a dream
sounds great
bargain!
nobody can produce a good look guitar like this for that price except you..i cant help to get it
Awesome guitar...
Let me just say this from the off. This is quite simply one of the best "value" guitars you can buy anywhere. It is without a doubt the easiest guitar to play I've ever owned, and I've owned quite a few over the years. As another reviewer said, it is a bit neck-heavy, but that's irrelevant; the guitar is neat, compact, easy to handle, and overall very light. The neck is very player-friendly, and bar chords are a breeze. Since it arrived I haven't put it down; even unplugged I sit on the couch and just play it.
If you are a beginner looking for your first electric guitar and are on a budget, I'd suggest that this is the instrument for you. And even if you are a more seasoned player, this would be a great addition to your guitar collection.
One comment - although this a Telecaster shape, that's one thing it isn't; if you're looking for the Tele "twang" I'm afraid the P90 pickups mean it's a lot throatier. However, overall, the TE-90 QM is a whole lot of guitar for the money, and I'm really glad I bought it. Excellent.
Just what I needed...
A fabulous guitar that arrived playable straight from the packaging, put some lighter gauge strings on to suit my style of playing , finish is stunning and is receiving envious looks , well done .
A lot of guitar for very little money.
This is a superb guitar for less than £180. It arrived four days after ordering, the outer box being slightly damaged in transit. Luckily, the padding and inner box were fine and the guitar was unscathed.
The body, with its mahogany back and solid carved maple top, is gorgeous, with very tidy binding around the body and in the F-holes.
The neck has a gorgeously smooth satin finish and feels great in the hand, and the fretboard, rather than being the advertised "roseacer", is pau ferro in a nicely rosewoody dark shade. The fret ends are smooth and comfortable, but the tops could do with a little extra polish.
The pickups sound great through my little Blackstar HT -1R amp, and, contrary to what I saw on a video review, the knobs work in a proper left handed manner. Love it!
Great guitar and great value
I wanted one of these since I first saw pictures of the right handed version, I was so pleased when it became available left handed.
For the money I think it is a fantastic guitar. I am a fan of 'T' shape guitars anyway, and have always wanted a semi-hollow.
It arrived in perfect condition with very little setup required.
The mahogany gives it some weight and the maple top looks really nice, nicer than the pictures. I bought mine a little while ago so it has the rosewood fretboard and Wilkinson P-90 pickups.
Soundwise, as other reviews have mentioned it isn't a Telecaster, but that's fine I have a Telecaster for Telecaster sounds, this has its own thicker sound thanks to the P-90s which, in my opinion, sound really nice whether played clean or with a bit of overdrive.
Overall a very nice guitar and great value for money.
Stunning
I have always wanted a Telecaster thinline, however, Fender don't do a left-handed version. Then I saw the TE-90QM LH and thought it looked even better than a thinline with its two f-holes and no pickguard.
When It arrived I was not disappointed, the body actually looks better in real life than in the photos.
The neck profile is tapered and narrow at the end, nice and easy to play.
The downside to this guitar was the fret buzz and sharp ends on some of the frets.
All I did was take the strings off, then using a protractor from an old geometry set as a fret rocker (any straight edge that spans at least three frets will do), marked the high frets with a felt pen. I then using coarse wet and dry paper, took off all the rough edges and levelled the high frets as best I could. Then I polished the frets with fine and super-fine wet and dry paper and treated the fretboard with lemon oil. That was it, job done. I put new strings on, set up the string height and intonation and I now have a very playable, decent quality guitar, that looks stunning.
Harley Bensons may be cheap guitars, but with a little work, they can be excellent guitars for a very good price.
In the future I may lower the nut and put some locking machine heads (tuners) on but not strictly needed.
I was so impressed that I have a Lefty HB TE-52 on order.

Bang for Bucks
Wow! This guitar rocks. Arrived set up and ready to play. Everything looks good and works perfectly. The sound and playability more than I ever hoped for. 5 Star bargain. Thank you HB. You rock!
Go HB.
It seemes to be a great time to be a musician. I remember when I started stuff from Chine was crap. Well, this is not. This things great, and only 200eu? What? Also, great for metal, who would guess? They really do do a good job with this brand. I'm 100% going to get another one.
Great Guitar for the price
I brought this guitar as it was a style I haven't seen left handed and was a good price. It plays well, and sounds like a "thicker" telecaster. Overall I would say it rates around the same as a mexican fender or an epiphone guitar, but at a much cheaper price.
I took the plunged a few weeks ago and bought the guitar blind and haven't looked back. It came with new high quality strings, and even though they are not my style I didn't feel the need to change them as it would have seemed a waste.
The guitar itself looks great and overall there are no problems. However looking inside the guitar you'll notice some errors, but it doesn't matter.
It played well out of the box and seems like it has been set up professionally, all I did was lower the action on the high E string and tune it in and it was ready to go.
It doesn't sound quite like a telecaster but has it's own original sound that you would expect from p-90s and is made with high quality electronics. Such that the pots and switch don't make any noise when used . Also can get a full range of volume and tone such that there is a lot of middle ground between 0 and 10, rather than with other guitars in the price range where it seems it goes from 0 to ten and not much in between.
Other all I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and from it will look into other guitars from the Harley Benton range.
