Considering that is small its not bad at all

Travel guitar that's been useful already

I've bought quite a few HB electrics ... No issues ... but this had sharp frets and took a lot longer for the tuning to stabilise. I like it but don't love it. I spent quite a bit of time sorting it out ... however .. I have to say that it's been really useful ... I've grabbed it and thrown it in the boot so I could play in the car .. Glad I've got it but IMHO, it's solely utilitarian in nature.

Great sound for tiny pocket

A small guitar with a very pleasant sound. Convenient to play and take with you when traveling. The workmanship is surprisingly good, considering the low price you can only admire it.

Makes me play more

Above expectations. I wanted to have a light instrument which I can just throw in the car or just carry around easily. The build quality is really good, yes the action could be lower but I sanded down the bridge nut and I will replace the head nut with the bone one. You would often do this on many expensive guitars as well. Plugged into my little Blackstar Fly 100 sounds really good...did not yet try it into the Mixer/PA.

It makes me play more, so it is already a great investment. It is so light and you can just grab it in the passing and play a few chords. To me that's really important. I ordered a wall hanger since it does not really fit on a normal stand.

I think I could survive a gig with it if it was necessary. Also comes with a handy gig bag. So convenient. Tuner would be nice but you can get that for a couple of € anywhere.

Been playing for 20 years and this made me really happy, great little companion. I often play it more than my high-end guitars. 10/10 from me.

Great for the price, but needs advanced additional setup

For the size and the price the acoustic sound is very pleasant, surprisingly so. The pickup sounds like most piezo pickups and that's fine. The guitar needs some more advanced setup to play correctly: the nut and the bridge are too high and need to be filed down, because the guitar's intonation is wrong and on the first few frets the notes are very sharp. Before doing all that the guitar just doesn't sound in tune and is not usable. However for this affordable price I am still very happy with my purchase and would buy again.

Awesome traveler!!

I am amazed that a guitar with this price has so many features and sounds so good! Because of its tiny size, its acoustic sound is short on bass, but amplified it sounds just like any other guitar. I did have to ground it to take care of a hum on some amps. The instrument is well finished, and the frets have been filed properly. It comes with a flimsy bag, but again, can't complaint with this price!!!

Louder than it looks!

Even with its little body this guitar has a nice volume and sound, for the price I am really impressed.

I only have one complain: the fret's edges are quite sharp, which is a bit unpleasent. But it's something you can probabily address yourself with a small file but honestly, for the price, I can't complain.

I haven't had the chance to try the guitar's pickup, but I'll write my thoughts as soon as I will

Great for traveling

Nice little guitar for traveling or even using it at a gig or the studio.

Great guitar, disappointing case

I am really pleased with this guitar. It arrived with little setup required, very nicely finished and a good acoustic sound considering the small body. Excellent amplified sound from the built in pickup. The only criticism is the bag it came with. If it was supplied with a padded gig bag, designed to fit this specific shape, with a small increase in price, it would provide a complete and very good package.

Nice try

Save your money. It's hardly an instrument, more like an ornament.

Good For The Money Spent

I recommend this guitar if you're willing to put in the time and effort to make it play and sound better. It does need a lot of work to make up for the low price.

I really like the tone of this guitar. Of the three HB guitars I've bought, this is the only one I'm keeping.

The strings are high at the nut and bridge. The intonation is really off. The fret ends are sharp. The tuners work well with no slipping. They are firm when turned but smooth. The truss rod is difficult to turn. It wasn't lubricated properly. I hope it doesn't snap in the future. So far it did help to adjust the relief. The binding on the body is perfect. The binding on the neck is good.

The frets aren't level. With high action, that doesn't matter, but when the strings are lowered it will need work.

The tone of this instrument is really good for its size. It doesn't have much bass, but that is OK. The body is tiny and would not be capable of producing bass. The pickup does have a very good sound with separate bass, treble, and volume sliders. It makes the tiny guitar sound just as good as a full size guitar. The battery used is a 9 volt. Which are easy to find.

It comes with a bag. Essentially it is a dust cover. It has a pocket. There is no padding. That is good enough for my room.

I have lots of guitar set up tools. The nut slots will be lowered. The fret ends will be smoothed. The bridge will be altered a bit to lower it and adjust the intonation just a little bit. The only way to get proper intonation with this guitar will be to make a custom saddle that hangs over the bridge to give some strings enough length. The work needed to make this play and sound perfect (for its size) will take lots of time. If you don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on such work or do it yourself (using tools that are worth hundreds of dollars), don't buy this instrument if you want perfection. I have developed the skills to make this a better instrument. The quality of this instrument is reflected in the price. With that said, it is still worth the effort. It came with binding on the front and back of the body AND on the neck. The Martin travel guitar sounds like a box of cereal with strings at twice the price and with no binding. If the bridge were just two milometers farther back, this would be a really good buy.

After the work is done, I can see this becoming my favorite guitar because of its small size. All I need to do is reach across my room and take it out of the bag to begin playing. It is not loud. Which means I won't disturb my roommates in the next room. It is comfortable to hold while sitting reclined and watching TV. Just the act of setting it aside is easy because it is so small. The gig bag has a single long strap on the back that makes it easy to carry over the shoulder. I do that with my ukulele while riding my scooter. This isn't much bigger.

The instrument doesn't say where it was constructed. That disappointed me. It might have come from China. At the time of the order there was no information regarding country of origin. I don't buy things made in China because of all of the human rights violations there.

You can't find a better guitar for traveling.

I ordered this guitar specially for the trip. Such a guitar can be carried on the plane as hand luggage. It is very convenient, there are no problems with the flight. I am very pleased with the compactness of the tool and thank you separately for the case included. The frets on the guitar do not stick out, do not ring and do not scratch. The pegs are holding the formation. The system does not float and there is no need to constantly tune the guitar, I did not expect much from the sound and was pleasantly surprised by the piezo sensor. I connected the guitar through a portable effects processor to the mixing console and played several rehearsals, jams and concerts on the broadcast. All the familiar musicians managed to pleasantly surprise with this guitar. Like all travel guitars, there is a drawback - they are small and you need to adapt and find a comfortable position when playing. I managed to find a comfortable position and for two or three hours I played on it daily without any problems. A high-quality tool made, showed itself perfectly during the trip. I am very happy with the purchase. Thanks.

Fantastic for the price, but with a few issues.

While the guitar is playable out of the box, the action is a little higher than I'd like, and it's poorly intonated. Adjusting the truss rod fixed these issues for me.

The tuners are fantastic, especially for the price, although it still needs to be tuned a few times per 2 or 3 hour play.

The strings it arrived with aren't great, replaced them almost immediately.

The pickup sounds great, however it seems to struggle to pick up the highest string. Not sure if that's a problem with my guitar specifically, but I usually play with the lower strings anyway when I play acoustic so this doesn't bother me too much.

Acoustically it has a rather thin sound, but that's to be expected with the size of the instrument. Paired with a full sized acoustic it adds a great new depth to mixes.

Overall, for £70 after shipping I'm very impressed with the guitar and highly recommend it for anyone looking for a different sound or a guitar to take travelling with them.

Awesome travel partner

I really like this guitar! I was searching for a traveler guitar and finally I found quite nice representative. It is compact, it is rather loud and it is very beautiful. The only problem is that there are sharp edges of frets outside the fretboard on the particular article that I recieved (it is very surprising because both my ST-20 and MM-84 has perfect frets)

high value/price ratio

obviously you cannot expect a huge "absolute quality" from a 80 euro guitar but with few setup to truss rod, bridge, string settings it can be a very handy instrument also for non-amateur musicians

the idea of having a normal fretboard on a ukulele body is very original and pleasant

Cute llittle thing!

I needed a small guitar to have on a boat... I know, not the best environment for an instrument except for a foghorn…

I didn't have any great expectations (about 70 Euro with a decent pickup and a gig bag!) and for the odd nights entertainment on board anything would do. To my surprise the little ugly duckling was more like a little cute duck! The workmanship, I suppose one still calls it like that in spite of almost all being machine made, was surprisingly good and the little guitar is actually quite good looking and very suitable for small spaces as a travelling guitar! The fretboard is a bit narrow for me but playable, and if don't have shovels for hands like me, it should really be acceptable. Now, of course, don't expect the sound of a jumbo because you'll be disappointed. I found the sound, considering the small corpus, quite adequate. After changing the strings for decent ones the whole experience improved. The neck is straight but the ends of the frets needed to be filed – otherwise they would have made my fingers to minced meat! The bridge had to be lowered, but admittedly, that's a personal matter and many would be happy with setup as is. All in all I would by this little gem again – have tried a well known backpacker guitar (about 300-350 Euro) and feel the difference in price is absolutely wasted… you can get a little holiday for the price difference and bring your new little duckling with you!

Decent sound when amplified

Good sound when coupled with an amplifier.

Not really playable unplugged.

Bit of action tuning required but all in all it is worth the money, waiting for a better deal.

What I expected

first of all the guitar arrived in perfect conditions and on time, then the quality of the guitar is excellent, the size is perfect to travel, the sound is good but not excellent it is to practice not for a concert. I appreciate that even tough that is not expensive product it looks really nice and the quality is great.
